I was a confident Pegasus, always taking up a challenge. Due to my confidence, I quickly became friends with Rainbow Blitz. We always fly races, but I clearly never won against the speediest stallion in Equestria. Although, I have come close to beating him.
Rainbow and I had just finished a race against each other. Each time I was slowly getting faster. Apparently, Rainbow wanted to show off my improvement as if he was proving that he was a good instructor. He invited two of his friends, Butterscotch and Dusk Shine. I hadn't met them, but they were famous, and you'd have to live under a rock not to know them.
Both of us were a panting mess as we walked over to the two stallions. "Wow, Rainbow! She wasn't too far away from you!" Dusk said, enthusiasm filling his voice.
"B-Both of you were amazing..." Butterscotch stuttered.
"Thanks... She sure is starting to put up a competition between us..." Rainbow said, starting to catch his breath.
"Don't congratulate me too much... It... It was still very hard to do that..." I panted. I felt close to fainting at this point. I mustered up so much energy to do that simple race that it tired me out much more than Rainbow Blitz.
"I bet," Dusk Shine giggled. He turned towards Butterscotch and asked, "Why don't you take (Y/N) to your cottage and help her rest up?"
My face immediately heated up, knowing someone as handsome as Butterscotch was taking care of me. Not to mention that I hadn't properly introduced myself, causing a bit of embarrassment. I do suppose Rainbow Blitz already mentioned me, and introducing myself didn't seem to be the problem right now.
"That would be nice... I mean, if it's fine with you Butterscotch." I added the last part to make sure he knew I didn't just want to barge into his house. It would make me seem rude.
"Oh, um, it's fine... It would be my pleasure..." He nodded. I gave him a smile and thanked him.
"Well, then, goodbye. I'll see you later..." He waved, and started flying off. I started to fly down along with him, but it was quite tiring.
My eyes started to close, sleep starting to take over. I struggled to keep my eyes open. I shook my head, but it was a failed attempt to stay awake. I soon lost consciousness after everything became blur.

~~~ Butterscotch's POV ~~~
I looked back every so often. She was being awfully quiet throughout the flight. Once I looked back at her, I saw her falling.
My eyes widened. I immediately flew after her as fast as I could. She was close to the ground now... I sped up. This was the fastest I've ever gone.
I can't let her fall... Come on, Butterscotch! You need to save her! Faster!
I went faster and faster. I finally caught her on my back, sighing in relief. Adrenaline was pumping through me. I looked back at her to make sure if she was okay. She was sleeping soundly, clearly tired. I smiled, knowing that she was safe now.
I turned back and flew towards my cottage. Thankfully, she wasn't too heavy, so the flight wasn't pulling me down too much.
~~~ Time Skip ~~~
I got to my cottage, finding one of my bear friends. "Oh, hello. Do you think you could help me carry my friend? She's awfully tired from a race today." I asked.
The bear roared quietly ("Got it..."), and picked her up gently. She seemed to have cuddled into the arms, making me smile. I opened up the door to my cottage, allowing the bear to take her inside.
"It would be nice if you could put her onto my bed." I pointed towards my room and the bear nodded.
The bear came back. "Thank you so much. You can leave now." I smiled. The bear responded with another roar ("You're welcome. Bye!"), nodding. I waved as the bear left.
I sighed, thinking on what to do when (Y/N) woke up. I suppose I could make her tea... I ran through many ideas in my head, but settled on tea. I walked over to the kitchen, starting to prepare the tea.
~~~ Time Skip ~~~ (Y/N)'s POV ~~~
My eyes fluttered open. Once I fully woke up, I realized I was in a new environment. It looked like a bedroom, but it definitely wasn't mine. I slowly started to get off the bed I was on, looking around. Although it seemed like I was interested in the items, I had been thinking about what had happened.
Let's see... I had a race with Rainbow... Two of his friends were there, Dusk Shine and Butterscotch... After that, Butterscotch agreed to take me to his cottage to help me rest up... We were flying down, and... That's all I remember...
I suppose I'm in Butterscotch's room... I sighed, deciding to leave the bedroom. I opened the door, almost bumping into Butterscotch. I screamed, but it wasn't loud enough to scare anyone, only enough for Butterscotch to become alarmed.
"Oh, goodness... Did I scare you? I'm so, so, so sorry... I was just going to check if you were awake yet... But, I am truly so sorry that I scared you... It wasn't-" He rambled on, but I stopped him with a kiss on the cheek. He immediately blushed a dark red, similar as I. It took me a second to realize what I had just done. Now I was the one who wanted to apologize.
"I-I have tea for you... I hope you e-enjoy it..." He stuttered. I was to flustered to speak, so I simply nodded. He started to lead me to the living room where he had the tea ready.
I sat down by the table, whispering a small thank you.
"It's green tea, I hope you'll like... Now, would you like some sugar?" He asked. Butterscotch was known to be shy, but he did a better job at holding his composure than I.
"U-Um, two spoons... P-Please?" I stuttered. What was this feeling? My cheeks were burning, my heart was thumping, and so many thoughts—mainly about Butterscotch—were going through my head.
I wasn't used to this feeling... The feeling of being so flustered... Feeling so weak... There must be a name for this feeling?
I was soon snapped out of my thoughts when Butterscotch said, "There you go."
I thanked him again, picking up the mug. I took a sip of the hot drink, humming in approval at the taste.
~~~ Butterscotch's POV ~~~
I watched (Y/N) sip the tea, smiling slightly. She was so beautiful... Her (Coat Color) coat shone in the sunlight that came through the windows... Her (Mane Color) mane looked so silky soft... I felt like touching it, but I withheld my urges.
I suddenly remembered something Elusive said about thoughts like these... He said he got these thoughts whenever he saw his celebrity crush.
Wait... Could I... I couldn't, right? I have only known her for less than a day... But, then again... She was very nice and she did try her best to be as polite as possible...
~~~ Time Skip ~~~ Two Months Later ~~~
(Y/N) and I have become great friends after that one race. I've made it a regular thing to watch her race Rainbow every day. Along with that, she came to my cottage to drink tea with me. Now, today was when I would confess my love to her... It seemed scary though... What if she doesn't like me back? What if she—
I stopped myself from thinking about these negative thoughts and went back to watching the race. Once the race was over, I congratulated her on beating her old record. She was 11 seconds behind this time. I could tell that Rainbow had truly started to try against her.
"You got her to yourself now, Butterscotch." Rainbow chuckled. He waved and said 'goodbye'. I blushed, remembering that I had told Rainbow my plan.
"Well, then... Let's go... I-If you're not busy, that is..." I smiled.
"I would never miss my tea time with you, Butterscotch." She grinned. You could see how sincere she was being.
~~~ Time Skip ~~~
We were drinking tea with each other. I put my mug down, letting out a sigh.
"(Y/N)?" I said her name to catch her attention.
She put her mug down as well. Her eyes were filled with concern, but responded with a 'yes?'.
"I..." I hesitated to talk. I took a deep breath and continued, "I have to tell you something... A-And, it's fine if you don't approve... But... I would feel much better if I told you... I... I like you, (Y/N)... Not just in a friendly way... If... If you feel the same way... M-Maybe you would like to go to dinner with me... Or maybe a lunch date..."
During the whole time, I had avoided eye contact with her. Once I looked up, I saw her eyes widen.
"Do remember, it's fine if you don't like m-" I started, but I was stopped when I felt a pair of lips on my own. My eyes widened, but I slowly closed my eyes. I kissed back, creating a sweet kiss. Mere seconds felt like minutes, but it all stopped.
"I like you, too... I've always liked you..." She whispered. A blush covered her cheeks as she smiled.
