"You know you didn't have to do this" I told Justin as we were walking to my house
"Think of it as my way of thanking you" He shrugged
"Well at least you're ready for the test next Wednesday" I said
"We have a test?" Justin asked
I laughed and he flashed me a smile
We continued walking in comforting silence
"So what about you? What are you like?" I asked him, breaking the silence
"What do you want to know?" He questioned
I made it looked like I was thinking for a bit but I knew exactly what to ask him
"What's your favorite color, your go-to meal, do you have any siblings, what your family life is, cats or dogs, favorite animal, favorite sport and lastly what is your favorite smell?" I asked him all of the questions he had asked me
"I see what you did there" Justin looked at me and laughed a little "My favorite color would have to be blue or red. I love steak and pizza. I don't have any siblings. There's not much to say about my family, I don't know my dad and my mom and I aren't really that close. Dogs duh. My favorite animal would have to be either dogs or armadillos. Favorite sport to play is basketball and I like to watch football or basketball. I like the smell of rain and coffee" He answered
"Why armadillos?" I questioned, as we turned onto my street
"Because why the fuck not" Justin responded
"Well this is my house" I announced as we walked to it
"Alright well thank you for helping me out" Justin said
"Anytime" I told him "I'll check in with you once we start the next section to see if you'll need more help" I added

Before Justin could respond a car came driving by and quickly pulled over at the side of the curb. A very angry looking Jeff came out of the car as he slammed the door.
"Jeff, what are you doing here?" I asked him, confused
Jeff ignored me and angrily stumped towards Justin
"What the fuck are you doing here" He spat at Justin "With her" He added, pushing Justin
"Jeff!" I exclaimed at him
"Huh?! Answer the fucking question!" Jeff yelled in Justin's face
Justin just stood there letting Jeff do whatever he wanted, he didn't even reply.
Jeff grabbed Justin by the collar and lifted his fist in the air.
"What the hell is going on here?!" My dad stormed out of the house
At the sight of my dad, Jeff let go of Justin and shoved him to the ground before running to his car and speeding away.
Dad stood on the porch looking at Justin and I as he crossed his arms
I helped Justin up and gave him an apologetic look
"I'm sorry if I caused any disturbance, sir" Justin quickly said to my dad
I opened my mouth to say something but he shook his head
"Thanks again for the help" He mumbled before he turned to walk away
"Althia! What the hell just happened?" My dad asked me as I joined him on the porch
"I-I don't know" I answered him as I watched Justin walk down the street
"Who were those two boys?" He questioned
"That was Justin, the one who I helped with in mechanics and Jeff, my friend who suddenly started to ignore me" I answered
My dad closed his eyes and took a deep breath
"Please, don't tell mom about this" I pleaded him
Dad looked at me

"You know how she'll get" I told him "I have no clue what just happened. Justin was thanking me for helping him and the next thing I knew Jeff came and was all angry and ready to punch Justin" I said
"Okay, I won't tell your mother but please be careful and watch who the hell you hang around with" He said
I nodded and headed inside
I quickly texted Zach to make sure he wouldn't throw a fit about me not texting him when I got home and headed up to my room.

"I think at this point we need a little weekend getaway" Jess sighed as we were on Facetime with Hannah
"Agreed" Hannah nodded her head
They both looked at me
"I don't see why not" I said "But I'll need all of the details before I even ask my parents" I added
We talked and figured everything out
"Alright, so you'll come pick me up at around 8 and we're going to spend the day at the beach before going to Jess' parents' cabin?" I questioned the girls making sure I got everything
"Alright, let's go ask the parents" I smiled and we said our goodbyes
I walked down the hall where I knew I could find my dad in his office
"Hey dad" I sang as I walked in the room
"What do you want, Althia?" He took his glasses off and turned in his chair to look at me
"Would it be possible for me to have a small weekend getaway with some friends?" I asked, giving him a cheesy smile
"Which friends and where?" He asked
"Jess and Han and we'd be going to the beach all day tomorrow and then staying over in a cabin and then we'd leave Sunday morning to come back here" I told him
"It's a yes for me but for mom..." Dad trailed
"Could you maybe, take care of convincing her?" I asked him
He looked at me but sighed giving in
"I'll talk to her" He said as he got up to go find mom
"Yes, thank youuuuu" I hugged him tightly before I ran back in my room
Getaway or nah?
Althia:
I got a yes from my dad and he's convincing my mom right now
"Pack up your things kiddo, you can go" My dad suddenly appeared in my room
I smiled widely
"Thank you mom" I yelled so she could hear me "And thank you dad" I told him
My dad waved his hand at me and left my room
Althia:
Pack up your things, we're going away hoes
For the rest of the night, I packed everything I would be needing
It was only until I was getting ready for bed that I forgot to message Justin since I wanted to apologize
DMs between Justin and Althia
Hey, I just wanted to
say sorry about the way Jeff came
at you today
I have no clue why he
would do such a thing but it was so not
cool.
Hi, don't stress about it
You weren't the one who
was ready to beat me up so you have
nothing to be sorry about
I really appreciate you
helping me out too, thank you so
much again
There's nothing there...
I still feel so bad about
what Jeff did, I would talk to him but
he's been ignoring me sooo
It's totally fine
Okay
Well goodnight, Justin
Goodnight, Althia

Settlement of Safehaven - A Hearthtree Series
"Welcome to the ECS Asgard, your ride through the stars to your new home-" Or so goes the sales spiel of this one of four and first-produced colonization ship, a spiel meant to placate the portions of humanity who would be selected for such a journey through the stars. It was meant to be a simple thing; people would sleep in hibernation or stasis, to experience their lives within the virtual reality world which kept their minds occupied. The virtual world was meant to simulate a fantasy world of Viking or Roman lore. But not all with this virtual world was fine; nor were the humans who were selected for its maiden and only voyage. One colonist lost everything dear to him, but through his pain and torment, he gained the attention of the colony ship's AI.

As per the edicts of the Celestial Court, humans Cultivate the Dao to seek strength and rise above their common roots. If they rise to one day serve the Dragon Gods directly, they have the chance to be initiated into the Greater Secrets of the Daos, which can allow them to live for millions of years. Coalescence, the Path to Transcendence, is considered a Heretical Art of the Demonic War Masters, whose evil empire was said to have been overthrown hundreds of millennia in the past by the Celestial Court. Raven: The Beginning
'What's the worst that could happen'? is what I thought to myself as I entered the World of the Veil with a new, experimental machine that the company created. I was originally excited to participate in their alpha test, and now, looking back, I was just a naive little girl that didn't know what it was like to truly suffer. Sarah was one of the world's best assassin players, but she wasn't prepared for getting stuck as a low-level player in a new game. Suddenly she has to struggle just to survive against the monsters of the world, while also keeping her secret from the authorities. What happens when the killing, and the consequences, are just too real? Author's Note (and a Warning): This book is about a normal person that is forced into a fantasy / medieval environment. What could possibly go wrong with our heroine? This novel is a sort of, legacy. I wanted to at least put it out there before I passed away due to a combination of financial difficulty, homelessness, job loss, and my last interview taking up the last of my savings (which I did not get the job). If by some miracle, and I get a job that can give me a pay advance by next week (4/8) and I survive this turbulent time, I will edit this - and the formating of the book). If you are so willing, please donate on my patreon page. Regards, Dave

They never called, yet he is here (censored edition)
Introduction:Not every world needs a Summoned Hero, even if it is possible to summon one. No, really! Everywhere, no matter the time, there are always good people who can use glory, power and personal harem themselves. And the one who was summoned? He is just a resource, nothing more… Translation of the original novel by Avada KadavraThe uncensored version is available here.Authors notes:This is just my take on the whole Hero Summoning thing, where a hero happened to survive.Fatal mistake, an error in a well-oiled mechanism that lasted for generations, gave a Hero a tiny chance to decide his own fate. After all, bad guys never expect a Hero to come, yet, the fucker still does.Partially inspired by the series “You summoned the wrong one” by Aitbaev T.A. who was in turn inspired by “Rise of the Shield Hero”.I have to warn you, Aibaev’s work of fiction is pretty out of ordinary, it makes one breath fire, cry until tears turn to blood and laugh to unconsciousness in equal measure.
