《Need A Bandage For That?, Ukai X Reader》14 The basement

"I said I'm coming!" I shouted towards the door of my house again.
I was on my feet from an early morning cleaning any mess I had in my house so that I wouldn't embarrass myself again when Ukai came.
Even though he was here to help me clean as well, it was supposed to be only the basement so I hadn't any other excuse to have a mess in the actual living space.
I was desperately trying to pull the bed sheet over my bed when the bell rang the first time. I was almost finished with tugging the last corner under the mattress when the lower-left corner of the sheet popped out.
Filled with frustration from my unsuccessful attempt of making my bed and Ukai's impatient ringing of the doorbell made my blood boil.
And we haven't even started today's task of cleaning out the basement which would bring more frustration.
I finally opened the door. My helpless expression was met with the energized expression of Ukai.
"Hi, come in." I said tiredly and stepped aside.
"We haven't even started, what's that face for." He chuckled.
I couldn't tell him that I was cleaning all morning and admit that my cleaning habits are worse than he expected so I just waved him off.
He already knew the way to the basement but I still wanted to guide him so he wouldn't look where he shouldn't.
"Ah! Don't look there!" I reached out my hand to push his face away from the direction of the dirty dishes I haven't had the time to put in the dishwasher.
"I didn't clean that yet." I murmured as I pushed him towards the direction of the stairs leading to the basement.
Even though he tried to be discreet I could hear him chuckle quietly.

When we got to the basement, I could feel my stomach clench.
This is going to be a lot of work.
"This sure is going to be a lot of work." Ukai announced, unfortunately confirming my worst fears. Now that even he, the clean freak as he named himself, admitted that I understood that it is going to be way worse.
"Yeah, I'll go get you some gloves. There's a lot of rusty stuff." I sighed out.
"Ah don't worry about it. I'll be fine." Ukai reassured me which only made my eyebrow raise.
"Listen, I'm the medical professional here and my consciousness won't let me let someone rummage through rusty things without gloves. Getting tetanus is a real thing you know." I confidently stated with my arms crossed in front of my chest.
"Okay, okay, doc. Get me some gloves then." He smiled and patted Y/N's head, finding her attitude cute.
Even though he complied with his words, I could tell that he wasn't as serious as I wanted him to be about these things.
I came with one pair of gloves on my hands and then another one to hand to Ukai.
We slowly started picking up things and moving them into different piles so it'd be easier to then throw them into their designated garbage cans depending on the material.
"How much did you pay for this house Y/N? I hope you didn't pay for all this garbage as well." He groaned as he threw one of the rusty buckets onto its designated pile.
"If I knew that one floor of the house would be just garbage, I wouldn't even buy it." I was already exhausted.
We were working for some time now but the pile didn't seem to get smaller.

"Ugh, I can't do this anymore." I sat on the stairs with a whine.
Ukai stopped what he was doing and turned to me.
"You wanna take a break then?"
I was looking at him. He was still full of energy. Even over his sweaty body he somehow managed to look good, better even. His hair that was previously pulled back with a headband was now loosely falling over the side of his face.
"Y/N, are you okay? Your eyes seem to be stuck in one place." He looked to his body, trying to find what I was looking at and then looked back at me worriedly.
"No, no. I'm totally fine. I'll go get us some drinks okay? I'll be right back." I got out of my trance and quickly walked up the stairs.
I watched as she hurriedly disappeared up the stairs.
A smile spread on my lips.
Even though she tried to hide the blush on her face, I was able to read her like a book.
I liked the shy side of her but even more, I liked her feisty attitude. Many people would take my carefree attitude as being rude but she could and wanted to oppose me in the say way I did and take it more as a fun battle of wits rather than poor behavior.
"Ukai, I'm back!" I heard her call out from the first floor.
I listened to her step nearing the staircase but something caught me off guard.
I could hear other pair of feet going the same way.
I walked toward the stairs to see who was the owner of the additional steps.
When Y/N noticed me, her smile went wide.
"Look who came to help!" She called out so cheerfully and now I noticed the two additional glasses of juice on the tray she was holding.
I looked higher above Y/N and recognized the jet black hair and the familiar figure of Kageyama. Immediately I figured out who was the other visitor even without seeing him yet.
