《Eris, the Alpha of silence.》Chapter 25

Eris was the first to wake from their blissful slumber . She was laying on her back between her two males, their legs entangled with hers and their arms were wrapped possessively around her waist. Her thoughts were, for once, calm. The storm her mind usually conjured missing.

She moved her head slightly, glancing at both Ezra and Hades, her heart was calm and she was feeling warm all over.

She hated that. She knew she couldn't get attached nor she could allow them to.

She sighed, trailing her hands softly over Ezra's features, taking all of him in, in an intimate manner this time, then turning to do the same for Hades, she knew she couldn't stay there. Calysta mindlinked her, telling her she was needed and she wouldn't ignore her duties, not even for the calmness she always craved for, even if it were for a mere second.

She was grateful for the beautiful moments the three of them shared but those were over now and she couldn't allow herself to believe that it could always be like that.

She moved silently, deciding against waking the two gods, she untangled herself from them, watching them move closer to each other once she was away.

Her lips rose at the corners for a moment but then she was reminded about the situation at hand by Calysta's voice and she left. Her once noticeable form now blending with the shadows, her soft steps no longer heard and her mind no longer at peace.

"Alpha, you have a visitor." Exclaimed Calysta the moment Eris entered her office.

Zeus was seated on one of Eris's sofas, watching her lazily.

She motioned for Calysta to leave and with a bow, she nodded towards Eris and Zeus before leaving.

"They are closer than ever, Eris." Those were his first words.

A rage like no other built up inside Eris's soul, the nerve of those creatures was starting to anger her beyond belief.

"Eris, your time is running short and the war is near. Did you find it?" His voice was calm but there was an underlying agitation in his tone.

Eris refused to answer.

She didn't find it yet.

"Eris, don't make me repeat myself. Did. You. Find. It." Zeus was itching for an answer which was to say the least, obvious.

The lack of response was all he needed, really.

He stood up and started pacing, he glanced at Eris, needing to understand what she was feeling but what he saw stopped him in his tracks.

She was calm.

"I never quite understood you, you know? At the beginning, when tortured, you used to fear death. You used to beg for mercy but with time, you stopped.

Stopped begging, stopped crying, stopped fearing death yet not in a broken manner, no. They didn't succeed in that, though that raises a lot more questions than I know you would be willing to answer."

He moved closer to her.

"Tell me, Eris, what is it that makes you tick? When will you ever care about what happens to you?

And by you, I mean yourself, not everyone else." Zeus yelled annoyed, as a god, he is to be without fear yet Eris's lack of interest in her life in spite of her knowledge of her purpose, was the only known thing that scared him and he was not ashamed to admit it.

He is usually one to say that the world does not revolve around one single person and it doesn't but in this case, everything in existence revolves around Eris yet she doesn't seem to care.

Her power is beyond anyone else's, living or dead yet she does not care for that, she does not use it.

Eris's thoughts started to whirl around that object. The one she needed to find.

She knew exactly where it was.

But she couldn't take it without causing extreme damage to the line of time.

She was weighting her options.

"How close are they?" She wrote on her notebook before handing it to Zeus.

A booming laughter followed, of course that's what she would ask.

Zeus slammed his fists on her desk, ripping it apart.

"Should I even be surprised anymore?" He asked sarcastically.

"You have exactly six blood moons."

After speaking those words, Zeus left. He knew he needed to cool down because his anger would cause tremendous breakage on the supernatural world. He was a god for a reason.

Six blood moons.

That's how much she has left.

Every month there were two blood moons and as faith had it that exact day they spoke on, one was already rising.

She sighed, knowing that's very little time for everything to go as planned.

She turned on her heel and left her office, heading towards a meadow close by.

She sat down near the river and took off her shoes, dipping her legs into the water.

She watched the starts align and shook her head with mirth at Astraeus.

He was forming a dagger and she knew what that meant but she ignore him and watched the untouched stars.

"Sometimes I feel like you love my stars more than I do, Biê. Is there a particular reason for that?" He asked chuckling.

He sat down next to her before turning her head towards him softly with his right hand.

She watched in interest, she was curious. She titled her head to the right, removing her gaze from him and moving it to his outstretched left hand.

Astraeus turned his left hand, palm up and right there, clinging to it, was a star.

Eris watched it with adoration her dark eyes glinting with fondness.

It was one of the most beautiful starts she has ever seen and that was saying a lot.

Though a curiosity struck her the moment she saw the stars color changing from a pearl white to a crimson red then to a golden color.

"It's you."

Eris's eyes widened slightly before narrowing.

She turned her questioning gaze to him.

"I know you studied my stars ever since you were a mere pup, Biâ. You know exactly what this means."

And she knew yet she didn't expect it.

She extended her hands towards it and surprisingly enough, Astraeus handed it to her without any hesitation.

No mortal could ever touch his stars and live to tell the tale but once again, that proved how special she was.

Once settled in her palm, the star didn't explode as expected, nor did it burn her.

It offered her warmth, it stuck to her hand like it never wanted to let go and even Astraeus watched the whole interaction with shock.

She was able to hold it because it was hers but a star never stuck to anyone else besides him.

Eris felt the stars. Love? For her.

It was such a weird and unexpected feeling but it wasn't unpleasant.

The star in her hand felt like a soft caress.

With a low, almost sad sigh, Eris rose to her feet and walked deeper into the water, Astraeus was watching her like a hawk, ready to save the star if she were to threaten it in any way.

She didn't want to cause it harm, quite the opposite.

She opened her palm wide and with a tremendous amount of force she threw it to the sky, watching it take its place in the beauty of the night.

Yet the star did something unexpected.

She didn't stop when she reached the sky.

She stood still illuminating the whole sky with her overpowering beauty and light before dimming slightly and disappearing, continuing its way to an unknown place.

She heard a clap start from behind and another once following it, Eris turned to see Astraeus and her soulmates clapping while staring at her with an unclear emotion in their eyes.

"That is the first time I have ever seen a star make its way through the galaxy, Eris. Not even I, the god of the stars and the planets could ever send my creations through the galaxy, Eris. That star represents you, it seems. Fearless and free."
