When we finally arrive at our cabin, we're both exhausted. It's a cute little open-floor cabin off a dirt road, miles away from the highway. 

"I'm sorry it's not more... luxurious, but we have to stay under the radar for now," Maddox says quietly as he holds open the front door for me. 

"It's perfect, don't apologize," I respond, tugging him further into the cabin by the waistband of his jeans. "And this is the first time since we've met that we've had a place completely to ourselves. No thin walls, no nosy pack members..."

Maddox presses himself flush against me, gripping the back of my head and pulling my mouth up against his as he guides me back towards the bed. A soft moan escapes me as his mouth pushes mine open, his tongue demanding entrance, but all too soon he pulls away. 

"You know, you're right. I didn't think of it like that. Things are looking up already," he murmurs. 

"Good, now get back here."

I pull him back down to me as he falls onto the bed, bringing me down with him. He kisses me slowly, our tongues languidly stroking each other as his fingertips worship every bare inch of skin they can find. We take turns pulling layers of clothes off of each other, neither one of us in any rush- just taking the time to enjoy and explore each other. 

Maddox plants one more small kiss on my lips before turning his attention to my neck, trailing gentle butterfly kisses across my collarbone, down my abdomen until he reaches my waist. He pulls the waistband of my panties, the last remaining article of clothing separating us, between his teeth and looks up at me. 

His eyes search through mine, looking silently for permission. 

I buck my hips up slightly in response and he shoots me a wolfish grin. He slides the skimpy piece of cotton down my legs with his mouth as his canines graze delightfully across my skin, causing a shiver to run down my spine. 

"Fuck," I pant as he tosses the underwear somewhere behind him. 

He's barely even touched me and I'm coming undone beneath him. He swirls his tongue along my inner thigh, tracing imaginary circles up to my bellybutton before making his way down to my other leg. Teasing, taunting, so close to where I need him most. 

"Maddox, please," I whimper. 

I feel his lips quirk against my legs which only causes heat to pool between them. 

"Impatient little thing, aren't we?" He murmurs against me. 

I buck my hips again in response. He hooks his arms under my legs to hold me in place and painfully slowly lowers his mouth to my core. 

His tongue caresses my slit lazily, working me into a frenzy with his unhurried pace. Maddox frees one hand from my hip, keeping the other one locked firmly in place, as he slips his index finger inside me, stroking my core while he continues to suck and nibble on my clit. 

My breathing comes in short, heavy puffs as he brings me closer to climax. I screw my eyes shut and grip his curls tightly- either to push his head away or pull it closer, I can't tell- squeezing my legs together to try to alleviate the building pressure. 

"Maddox, I- Fuck!" I cry out as my orgasm rips through me. 

He wastes no time, doesn't even give me a chance to catch my breath before he's positioning himself above me, pressing himself at my entrance. His tongue slips into my mouth, groaning, and at the same time he pushes himself into my throbbing core. 

I half expect it to be rough and needy after the awful day we've had, but Maddox keeps a steady pace, making sure I feel every inch of him as he pushes into me. 

"Fuck. You are unreal," he sighs heavily against my lips. 

Maddox maintains a mind-numbingly steady pace and I meet each one of his thrusts with one of my own. It's a slow burn, the way he's steadily pushing my body over the edge once again. 

"Harder, please," I mewl in response. 

We're both sweating and panting and I'm desperate for the release only he can give me. He speeds up, slamming into me on command. I curl my hands around his face to hang on for dear life and he does the same by firmly gripping my ass.

I peek over to notice that his eyes are closed too and he looks seconds away from falling asleep. 

"Do you think we'll ever get used to this?" I ask him quietly. 

"Used to what?"

"This... connection. The intensity of it all. I mean, I love it, don't get me wrong. I just don't know how we'll ever get anything done when I constantly feel like jumping you."

"Feeling thoroughly fucked and satisfied, McChale?" He grins, his eyes still shut. 

I roll over and place a kiss on his chest, tracing all the little scars that litter his torso. I wonder vaguely if he'll tell me the stories behind them one day or if the memories are too painful for him to relive. It's a reminder that even though we've already been through so much together, there's so much we have yet to learn about each other. 

"August's fault," Maddox mumbles. 

"What?"

"The scar on my hip," he says, referring to the scar I was examining. "When we were younger, we wandered pretty far off pack property during a run. We found this really cool cave, but August was too scared to be so far away from pack lines and he was on edge the whole time. He must have heard something that spooked him because he turned around faster than I could blink- he pummeled me trying to get out of there and I landed on a very sharp rock."

"Aww, my poor Alpha," I giggle. 

"Thank god I have you here to kiss it better."

"I must admit, I feel much better knowing we left our pack in such a fearsome Beta's hands."

"Let's just hope no one makes any sudden movements or loud noises to spook him off."
