《Kyra (Completed)》8

I woke up the next morning and sat up on 'Freckles' bed. He was still knocked out next to me so I took the opportunity to get showered and dressed before he woke up.
I walked into his bathroom and pulled the clothes from my body. I turned the shower on and stepped in as the steam started to rise. I felt my hair slowly start to become curly and I groaned.
I hated having curly hair and my hair never stayed straight long. Not as long as I wanted at least.
I rinsed the soap from my skin and stepped out wrapping myself in a towel.
Once I was dressed, I combed the curls out of my hair best as I could and pulled my hair up into a bun.
I slipped my feet into my sandals and walked over to the bed. I shook Freckles a little and he groaned turning over.
"Cam, get up. Your appointment is at seven." He sat up and rubbed his eyes.
It was so early, the sky was still dark. And the moon was just disappearing into the morning. I never get up this early, and the shower didn't help with waking me up this morning.
He got up and got dressed as I sat on his bed, checking text messages and calls.
He walked out the bathroom with his jeans on and looked at me briefly before going back into his closet.
I grabbed my car keys and lead him down the hall and out the front door. We walked down the brightly lit hallway and entered the elevator.
I stared up at him dead to the world. I don't know why I agreed to take him. Why does his appointment have to be so early?
"You gone be cool to drive? I can go wake my mom up."
I nodded. "I'm just a little tired."
I opened the passenger door of my car and Freckles handed me his crutches. I slid them in the back seat and got in the front.
"Seat belt.." I mumbled
He scrunched his face and looked at me. He tended to do that when I said something he didn't like.
I don't like driving without seat belts; it makes me nervous.
"What?"
"Seat belt. Put it on."
He kissed his teeth. "No, let's go."
I raised an eyebrow. "I'm not moving my car a inch until I hear that click. That annoying ass warning will keep going off and then I'm going to whine. Do you want me to whine Freckles?"
He groaned and pulled the seat belt across his body. I clapped and put the car into gear.
"Happy?" He said sarcastically.
"Elated." I shot back.
We sat in the waiting room at the hospital waiting for him to get called back. It was so vacant to the point where there was only one patient here besides us.
"Why is your appointment so early?"
He sighed. "Last time I came, I got bombarded by fans so my doctor made it earlier. " I nodded.
"It's early as hell though..." I mumbled.
He groaned. "Do you ever shut up? Shut up."
"Cam, you shut the fuck up. Your not the boss of me."
"How about you sleep on the floor tonight then." I rolled my eyes and sat back in the uncomfortable chair I was sitting in. Hospitals were so cheap to have so much money. They could afford better chairs.
"Are you going to throw that in my face every time I make you mad?"

He chuckled. "You don't make me mad."
"Yes I do. You hate me for no reason and I don't fucking get it..." I spat turning my entire body in his direction. I wanted to get a answer out of him. He had no reason not to like me and It shouldn't bother me that he doesn't but it does.
"I don't hate you."
"Yes you do! I touch you and you cringe. You hate me!"
He grabbed my the side of my face and gently nudged my attention to him. His hands were surprisingly soft and warm and so was his touch.
He stared into my eyes and I was fighting not to drop my gaze to his lips. They were inches away from mine.
"I definitely don't hate you." He said softly before dropping his hand. "You just get on my nerves."
I stayed silent. What was up with that?
Freckles is so weird for doing that. It just confused me. How can he be so hot and cold? He almost seemed as if he was nice for a second.
"Are you mean because your injured? Or are you just mean in general?"
He shrugged just as the door on the wall in front of us opened. A tall blonde nurse in scrubs poked her head out and smiled.
"Johnson?" He nodded and stood up.
"I don't want you sitting out here alone so come on." I grabbed my purse and followed him behind the door.
They put us in a empty room and he laid back on the examination table, staring at the ceiling above him.
"You look uncomfortable." I mumbled.
"I'm not."
I nodded. "You nervous?"
"Kyra! Seriously, shut up! You always asking me shit! Why the fuck would I be nervous?" He spat harshly.
I slowly dragged my eyes up to his face. I've never met someone who can hurt my feelings so easily.
I've always been the one that was tough as a nail. If I wasn't, I wouldn't stand up to my father the way I do. With Freckles, it's not the same.
The coldness in his voice makes me feel like a small child being scolded by their parent. He had the ability to belittle me and I didn't like that.
"Big CJ." The doctor said smiling as he walked in. Freckles laughed and shook his hand.
He looked like he was in his mid forties. His gray hair was coming in, but it only appeared to have grown in on the sides, almost as if it was on purpose.
Cam had have to have known him personally because of how they interacted. They were more than polite, it was like they were old friends which couldn't be the case with the difference in age.
"Oh, sorry. I'm rude." He chuckled looking at me.
"This your lady Cam?"
Cameron laughed as if it was a joke and waved him off. "Nah."
My eyes dropped to my lap. I felt irritated. I realize he doesn't like me, but he takes every given chance to let me know.
The rest of his appointment consisted of his doctor performing several test and check ups on Freckles to make sure he was healing correctly and even when they were done, I didn't speak to him.
I was still tired and if he wanted me to be quiet so bad, I'd stop talking. I'm glad tonight is the last night I would be staying with him. He was driving me insane at a deathly slow pace and I was realizing how stupid I looked and it was making me angry.

I opened the door to his apartment and was greeted by music.
His mother and father were in the center of his living room dancing.
Freckles smiled and shook his head as they acknowledged that we were back. They stopped dancing, the smiles still staining their faces as Anna walked over to me.
"Where did you two run off to so early? We've only been up about an hour?" She questioned pulling me into a hug.
She smelled good and it made me smile. I never had a mother so it felt good to be held by a woman. I never had someone to love me that way. I didn't get hugs for no reason and kisses to my forehead and cheek like Cam did.
The respect and love Cam and his mom had was beautiful. I never had a relationship like that; I never had love like that.
It was a feeling I wasn't used to and even though I knew she wasn't my mother, just for that second that she held me; I felt cared about and that made my mind go into a frenzy of emotions.
I wanted what Cameron had; I wanted a mother.
"Date?" Clinton asked.
"At seven in the morning pop?"
He laughed. "We'll where did you go?"
"I had a doctors appointment."
He nodded. "Hey, my girl is back!" He said smiling at me.
Clinton had a country accent to his voice that made you want to hold a long conversation with him just to hear him speak.
I smiled back and nodded. "Hi."
I felt Freckles eyes on me and I looked up expecting him to be glaring at me for speaking to his father but he wasn't.
He looked confused, probably by my quietness. He nudged me and we made our way back into his room.
"This is the last night your staying here right?" He questioned falling back on his bed, still cautious to his ankle.
I nodded. He glanced at me sideways and sat up on the bed resting his weight on his arms.
This was the last night I'd be a bother to him. He could return to his lonely comfort, while I tried out my new bed.
I rubbed my hands up and down my arms and slipped a hoodie over my body.
"What's wrong with you?"
I looked up and shook my head before plugging my nearly dead cellphone into the socket installed in the wall of his room.
"Your lying."
I shrugged.
He kissed his teeth. "Kyra...You ain't said two words since we left the hospital." He muttered narrowing his eyes at me.
"Do you mind if I go back to sleep? It's still really early." I asked, changing the subject.
He nodded and slid over making room for me to climb into the bed.
I turned and faced Freckles who was staring up at ceiling. He looked over at me momentarily and returned his gaze back up.
"You really think I hate you?"
I shrugged and he blew a breathe from his mouth.
"I don't hate you. If I hated you, you wouldn't be in my house right now."
"Or is it because you feel sorry for me?"
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Feel sorry for you?"
"On the contrary to whatever impression I set on you, I'm not that happy. I think you figured that out last night but chose not to speak on it right?"
He nodded. "It's not my business."
"But Trey is?"
He didn't answer me and I wasn't going to push him to or he might throw something else in my face and I wasn't in the mood to have my feelings hurt twice in two hours.
"I'd kill for the relationship that you have with your parents. It's really beautiful." I spoke quietly.
He looked at me with soft eyes that I'd never seen from him before.
I knew he had figured out by now that my relationship with my dad had been tainted. I was never one to be excessively secretive about my feelings.
I shut my eyes snuggled into his soft duvet.
I turned over and looked at Kyra who was still very sleep. Her left hand rested on her stomach as shallow breathes escaped her mouth.
She shivered in her sleep as if she was cold and I lightly touched her hand finding them to be freezing. She fell asleep under my covers but it now rested just below her waist.
I pulled the cover further up her body before getting out of bed.
I shut my door quietly and made my way down then hall and into the kitchen where my mom was fixing breakfast.
She smiled when she saw me and kissed my cheek.
"Does your girlfriend eat breakfast food baby?" She asked cheesing as she placed a plate of breakfast in front of my father.
I sighed. "Not my girlfriend ma."
"Why is she sleeping with you then? When is this darn bed arriving anyway?" She asked raising her eyebrows.
I laughed. "Tomorrow; the same day you leave."
She gave me a hard glare. "What's up with the attitude? You've been rude lately and that's not how I raised you."
I shrugged. "It's not on purpose ma... I'm a little stressed."
My father scoffed. "Don't take that on on her. You're mad about that ankle. She ain't fracture it; you did. Now apologize to your mama."
I nodded and apologized giving her the big goofy smile she always fell for when she was mad at me. She laughed and waved me off, rubbing her hands over my face, before smiling. Shes beautiful. I love my mothers smile.
"You're going to heal perfectly and be back how you were in no time. Have faith baby and focus on your goals."
I smiled and gave her a hug.
"Thanks mama."
She patted my back. "Go wake that girl up. It's too late too be asleep and she needs to eat something after she forced you up this morning."
I kissed my teeth. "Mama, for the last-"
"Zip it." She said snapping her fingers together. "Do what I said and don't come back till she is walking beside you."
I obeyed and made my way back to my room. I leaned over the bed and tapped her bare leg that was peeking from under the covers.
Her skin was soft and smooth and I had the urge to run my hands down her whole leg and up to her clearly soft hair. It was always wavy and she would pull it up into a pony tail when it bothered her.
Her eyes opened and she looked at me confused. "My mom wants you to come eat." I murmured.
She nodded and got up. "I need to use the bathroom." She grabbed her toothbrush and headed to the bathroom only to come out five minutes later.
"Come on." I grumbled leading her out of the room.
I pulled her chair out and she sat at the table across from my parents.
"Kyra, how old are you sweetie?" My mom asked. "I'm twenty-one."
My mom held a surprised face. "Oh, your only a year behind Cameron, I though you were younger."
"Nope." I mumbled.
"Your so gorgeous, where do those eyes come from?" Kyra smiled.
Her smile was beautiful and my mom genuinely liked her, I could tell. My mom never tried to spark up conversations with girls I was around and this one was natural.
"Thank you." She said blushing."My eyes are from my grandmother. She's stunning."
My mom nodded. "I bet. Why don't you help me clean up baby." She said patting Kyras hand. "You two go away." She fanned us out the kitchen and I laughed.
Me and my dad sat on the couch and he stared at me. I knew all too well what that look meant.
"So.." He dragged out. "When you gone tell that girl you like her."
"I don't like her man gone." He laughed. "Fine, but stop making googly eyes at her before she gets the wrong idea, you know what I'm saying?"
I kissed my teeth. "I'm going to my room."
I headed down the hall to my room. I closed the door and crawled into my bed. Kyra opened the door right after and grabbed her bag off the floor.
"What are you doing?"
