"So the pirate has a daughter." Hook walked towards Charming, "Ay, got a problem mate?" The two men glared at each other for a short period of time before the Evil Queen began to speak, "I do, why is your daughter working with the enemy?" The one handed pirate turned towards the queen, "I don't know." "How do we know we can trust you Hook?" The pirate sighed, "Because that was the first time I've seen my little girl in eight years."
--------------
"Where are we going daddy?" a ten year old Hermione asked as she jumped from a ship. "Listen Darling, I have to go on a small trip. Your going to stay here, in London." The pirate's daughter furrowed her eyebrows, "Why can't I come with you?" Killian took his daughter's hand, "It's not safe, 'Mione, I'll come back. I promise."
"What do you mean she's not here?!" The pirate's yells caused the small shack to shake. "She's ten years old! It's not hard to find a ten year old running the streets of London!" Jones smashed his hook against the orphanages cracked walls. "I'm sorry Mr Jones but she ran off, we haven't been able to find the little miss." The pirate groaned before leaving the orphanage.
Two months past and the Pirate still wasn't able to find his little girl. And time was running out. The pirate had to be off on another voyage at the end of the week. This time he had to go away for more than a few months. More than a year even. And although it was dangerous he wanted to take his daughter with him but he wouldn't be able to if he couldn't find the small child.

Just like a few months prior, Captain Hook set sail, leaving Old London and his daughter behind. Although he hated the feeling, he had to leave. With or without Hermione Anne Jones. This time the pirate wouldn't be returning for four years, the voyage to the Enchanted Forest would be a long one.
The voyage took longer than Killian thought, he had been gone six years. And hopefully, now his daughter was back safely in the orphanage in were he left her six years ago.
As the ship docked, Killian Jones couldn't wait. He rushed to the small shack he remembered was the orphanage. He felt terrible for leaving her over the time, but he knew he was going to make up for it.
"I'm here for my daughter!" Killian said as he rushed into the orphanage. The woman instantly recognised the man. "She left late last night Mr Jones." Captain Hook walked over to the desk. "Left?" She nodded. "She had woken, and she left, saying something about a melody." Killian turned to the woman. "A melody?" Once again the women nodded, "No one else could hear it but her, she has yet to return."
So the pirate waited, he waited for his daughter's return but after a week, he gave up. He would see his daughter again, but he had a feeling she wasn't going to return to the orphanage.
"I'm sure she will forgive you when she hears the truth." Mary Margaret said as she started a fire. "She must think you just left her, she stopped believing in your return." Hook gave a sad smile. "She won't hear me out, Pan has her wrapped around his pinky finger."
------------------
"You alright love?" Pan asked Hermione as the two entered camp. Felix wandered over to Henry and Thomas. "He was right there, he was here for him." Hermione choked out, glaring at the Truest Believer. "I should have killed him Peter, I had the chance. But I didn't I couldn't." Peter nodded, understanding what the Lost Girl was saying. "I wanted revenge Peter, and when I had my chance I missed it." Secretly, the girl no longer wanted her revenge. She couldn't hurt the only blood relative she had.

A New Beginning
Humans don't understand how someone can be both dead and alive, and that fact scares them, it opens up the possibility of a threat even if there is no evidence of malevolent intent. So, the only solution in the minds of humanity is to dominate and subjugate the unknown variable until it no longer has even the potential to be a threat. They choose to pretend that the unknown variable is lesser, that humanity is superior on no other grounds than that it's humanity.
