"What did you just say?". Seonghwa says. "Why!?!". Seonghwa yells. "Seonghwa?". I called out and he looks at me. "Sorry Jimin but I'm going to be here for a while". Seonghwa says. "That's ok". I told him. "Won". Seonghwa calls out. "Sir".
(Dawon from Sf9)
"Escort Jimin to the kitchen". Seonghwa said. "Sure". Dawon walks up to me and offers me his hand. "Oh". I took his hand. "I'll be there shortly". Seonghwa says. "Take your time". I told him and walked out with Dawon. "Y'all cute". Dawon says and snatched my hand away from him. "What? Y'all are". Dawon laughs.
"That's sick". I gagged. "I meant your friendship you sick bastard". Dawon said. "That's what I meant as well!". I yelled. "Really?". Dawon turned to me shocked. "Well... My bad". Dawon tugs his collar. "Idiot". I huffed and he laughed. "Sorry". Dawon said. "It's right here".
"Pretty!". I clap and Dawon smiles at me. "Have a sit". Dawon says and I jumped in seat. "Umm...". I say, playing with my fingers. "You wanna know don't you?". Dawon asked and I nodded. "Well... Let me start front the beginning". Dawon says. "Seoul is broken into three groups". Dawon said. "Vigilantes, gangs and the Mafia".
"The Mafia are the head dogs in Seoul, that's why there are only five of them". Dawon says. "Icons, Von's, bloodhounds, Doom and Agust". Dawon said. "The Agust Mafia is so damn secret that no one knows what the leader looks like". Dawon sighs. "Every last person is scared of that man or woman behind that Mafia".
I got chills all of a sudden and I didn't know why. "So, why did Seongie get mad about a bride?". I asked. "It makes a Mafia untouchable". Dawon answers. "I don't understand". I tilted my head. "A Mafia lord having a bride is like having a God card in your pocket". Dawon stats. "No one can touch a bride nor attack a Mafia that has one".

"Whoever tries too... It's a declaration of war and no one wants that". Dawon explains. "So... A bride is a shield to the Mafia and the leader". I said. "That's correct". Dawon says. "Bullshit". I huffed. "That's like putting your wife in the cross fire just to save your ass". I said. "It's part of the 'no blood shed' clause". Dawon said.
"Eh?". I look at him. "Vigilantes, gangs and Mafia all have rules that they ALL must obey too". Dawon said. "Mafia has a law for brides". Dawon says. "No one can harm, threatened or talk about a Mafia lord's bride". Dawon said. "So... The bride is protected?". I said and Dawon nods. "Brides are treated very well, rest assured".
"Now that the Agust Mafia leader has a bride... That's mean...". "Yeah...". Dawon sighs.
"We can't touch them".

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
