one day a great disaster occurred and the world was swarmed by all sorts of unnatural beings, beings that resemble demons, angels, and monsters we would only see in fairy tales. the humans cried with fear and tears in their eyes to their gods, and the gods couldn't stand watching their creations being killed one by one in such a gruesome manner. and after 1 month of hell on earth, the gods answered their calls for help by giving them the power to fight back, although this power came at a price. thus the humans flocked at the power in a moment of desperation not thinking about the price. countless people lost limbs, one or more of their five senses, part of their life span, or even lost their sanity. seeing how big the price for such power was, this choice was only left for the brave, the mad, and the ones that had nothing to lose. that was all 40 years ago. this is the story of a particular couple, a couple that is feared for their strength by some and looked up to for their bravery by, many having been together since 6 years old they have a deep understanding of each other, they have been relying on one another since their families died in the great disaster which happened when they were only 16 years old. and even though they saw the price that the foolish ones paid while choosing the power of the gods, they understood the danger and they knew that they need that power if they wished to survive. but oddly enough they did not seem to have lost anything, no harm was done to their bodies, they were in perfect condition, they were delighted that they didn't have to pay a price. however, after 15 years of fighting as a pair, their love for each other only grew, and eventually, they got married. they wanted to leave something behind in this world, a symbol of their love and hard work, so they wished to have a child little did they know that the price they had to pay was the ability to have children. they were devastated but they managed to lift each other even after hearing such news(but being such great warriors, the gods felt sympathy for the couple, blaming themselves, they decided to gift them a miracle )
