“Where... The fuck... Have you been!? You dumb!?” My stepmother warmly welcomes me.

“Oh… Hi there, Fanya… Where’s Deo?”

Smiling kindly, I walked past her, who was leaning against the door outside her room. I have successfully summoned the first NPC, now for the second and also the last person.

“I don’t know where that guy is… Hey! Answer my question first!”

“Alright… Brief synopsis! I met many good people out there and together, we did many grueling adventures over the course of several days… Sure it’s tiring but the good thing is, they always give me candy every time that has been scheduled... So, no need for you to be worried, stepmom. your little angel called by the name of Daniel is completely fine.”

“Stepmom?!”

“Now where is Deo? I want to take the two of you out for a walk while buying me a new phone. That way, you don't have to worry about me anymore.” Speaking in the tone of a kindergartner, I searched all around the boarding house… But he was not anywhere.

“Hey you! Try to call his number. Fast!” I pointed right at Fanya's big forehead.

“Ah, about that, ya know... Actually… Uh…” Somehow Fanya looks so disturbed… So then I asked her about it. “What’s wrong?”

“Oh! I just changed my sim card, so I don't have his phone number right now… Yeah, that’s how it goes.”

“Why do you have to be so nervous just to say that thing? Take it easy, Because I still remember his phone number... So just call him already.”

“How can you remember numbers when…”

“There are only ten digits in number. While the alphabet has twenty-six and the number of words in the dictionary is in hundreds or even thousands… So…”

“Okay shut up already! Just give me his number!”

Then I gave her Deo’s number.

Now they are on the phone. “Hey, um… It’s me, Fanya. Listen… What? Whatever. Just listen to me. Daniel is here out of nowhere and he invites us both to go downtown… Night? Yeah I think that’ll be okay. Sure… Bye.”

“Seven. He will come at seven… So…”

“Aw… But it's still five o'clock! Now I kinda feel like eating something... You cooked something for this afternoon, right?”

“Yeah… You want some? They’re still warm.”

“Please!”

“Good… Then come in.” Fanya opened her bedroom door, inviting me to sit inside while she prepared something on a plate.

“You must already know that I can actually take the rice on my own, right? At least?” I try to peek at the busyness that she has, while sitting twirling her study chair.

“No, I don't want you to see something that you shouldn't see in my room…”

“What? Heavy barbell sets? Make sense.”

“Can you say that again? But with a little more courage.”

“No…?”

“Then just shut up.” She laughs.

Again, I’m having a daydream while looking out the window frame even though there is nothing out there that can spoil the eye. But then, “Here…” Fanya comes with a warm plate of her own home-cooked meal.

“Do you really think that I'm drying my clothes out there right now?”

“It’s not it… But Seeing a window wherever I am, feels like it has become a habit that I can't get rid of by myself.”

“Wow… I never knew that one.”

“You didn’t?”

“Because that’s too random, you dumb…” This girl hit me on the head in anger.

After I finished eating, my eyes then examined each side around the room. A normal one, unadorned and without items that can be said girly. Fanya’s laying her body, relaxing on the bed. Playing with her smartphone, sometimes laughing after watching a few videos when It was getting darker…

Here I just remained silent, enjoying the fresh breeze from the window in the same room with her. That’s when she suddenly threw her cell phone on the table, then Fanya told me her thoughts. “Can I tell you about something that might sound a little disturbing?”

“Anything’s okay.”

“You know? Yesterday I saw some corpses lying on the street near campus… The police didn't want to come, no until a few hours after the killers finally fled from the scene. It was really scary! And... And the funny thing is that no one dared to do anything other than just stay away and not interfere with the incident… When there is still a possibility if the victims are still...”

“Because that was the only best option they have.”

“But I really want to do something! Don’t you?!”

“What the fuck?! No! How can you even think about that?! Too dangerous, woman! Just don’t!”

“Because I also heard the same thing actually ever happened in our hometown, a few days right before you arrived here… Or also about that fire… About the things you've been through. I just can't believe that things like this have become commonplace overseas. Honestly, I was really scared... Especially when you've been missing for three days… Again!”

“My bad… But that’s why we need to buy that new cell phone for me.”

“Well... Alright then.”

Someone is knocking on the door…

“That must be Deo… So, you ready to go?” I stood up from the chair, asking to make sure if she was doing fine.

“Yeah… I’m good. Let’s go…”
