“Well, That's what we know so far:
This world is full of floating islands - check
The world was created full of life by mysterious power - check
The energy that lets us change the environment is called Ether, right?“ He hesitated.
"Wrong! Ether is the heavenly source from which the Mana energy was created, from which we transcend it to our use" I corrected him.
"Ok, Ok!" he said. after a short breath, he continues to speak:
"Where were we... yes:
The energy that lets us change the environment is called Mana - Check
we feed off of it to exist -check
And right now we need help from the giants to reach the Mana-less ruins, right?"
"Yes, it's true" I answered him
After a short quiet, I went to take some water and returned while he thought about what to say
"Why can't we get there? We can get along with ourselves and get in, even we can go into places they will only recover with their monstrous size"
"It's because we'll die if we get there without a way to protect ourselves!" I mentioned it and relaxed after a few moments.
"We need them because they can get along excellent without Mana, and they have previously researched there, twice, so they know the place excellent"
"But we have recently been able to invent protection suits from the Mana leak to the environment, so why we don't use them?"
"Because they are experimental! They have not yet passed enough regulations for them to be safe in this environment!" I answered, loudly.
"So why not check them out now? This is the perfect opportunity to…"
Suddenly, an intruder entered into a conversation between us and tripped, dropping all the documents that were in his arms, they were all about the new suits.

"Sorry" he said while he gathered them quickly.
"You just came at the right moment!" I said: "Please help me bring some logic into him. I guess our guests have arrived right now"
He looked around in his sixth-eyed before he nodded in one of his arms.
"Excellent, keep working on what we do. I have to be elsewhere" I said before leaving the room and hearing them argue about what was said, but I let it slip before I left the building, going to catch an airship and fly straight to the meeting point. I guess they are already waiting for us too much.
"I'm sure we'll find something special there this time." I thought to myself, without knowing it could lead everyone I know to the abyss that is under our island.

The Crippling Little Rock Demon
Died on Earth, struck by an unfortunate sudden bolt of lightning, and was forced to reincarnate into another world. Reborn not as a human, but as a species of Rock Demon (Terrakahn). So, how bad can it really be? Basically just another typical reincarnation story, but this one is really inspired by the story The Golem Mancer written by IfNotForOne.

Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
