《Bone Sage》Chapter 1:A new beggining

"Ugh.. the hell am I?"
Melton slowly gained his consciousness and slowly lifted himself with his arms until he reached a sitting position. He started looking around slowly with a slight hint of annoyance at his facial expression. Around him was a short and pale green colored grass along with pine trees. He saw the terrain and immediately realized he was at some sort of hilly biome. As soon as he realized that he said, while rolling his eyes over
"Of course its hills"
While he was younger he went on many vacations on various places and he knew what that meant. Those types of biomes usually contained very little life since the temperatures were lower and air is thinner. For him it was, without a doubt , most boring place to exist in.
"Even desert have more shit going for them than this. If you find a grass in desert it will be a nice shade of green and not this annoying existence. At least there is little to no life so I was safe until I woke up. Well... time to get up and find a reason to keep going"
He slowly tried to get up but his legs were struggling since he was bedridden for quite a while. He managed to get up but his legs were trembling and his ankles were forcing his legs to make a O shape while he was standing still.
"Mannn... I haven't walked for so long I look like a woman who was raped all night long"
And he was right since and outsider would probably see him as a rape victim.
He spent next 10 minutes testing his legs again and gaining back stability when standing or walking.
"I should probably find someone or at least something like water or food source. Too bad I'm in a GODDAMN MOUNTAIN-HILL REGION.THERE AIN'T SHIT HERE!"
He shortly calmed down after his little tantrum and finally started his search. While on his search he found quite a lot of unique plant that he was not very familiar with. He obviously avoided them just in case they are dangerous or poisonous. He continued his search for about an 3 hours or so going into forests until all of a sudden-

*shushing noises*
"The hell?" Melton said while getting alerted from the noise. He held a piece of wood in one hand and rock in other.
Out of the bush came a weird creature. It was about a meter tall, green , it had a large nose and in the eyes of Melton it was epitome of ugliness.
"Ugh.. I am glad I had nothing to eat" Melton said disgustedly. In his eyes the goblin was as hideous as a drug addict begging for money on a street
The goblin started making some noises and started running towards Melton
"Back off dumbass!!" Melton said while throwing rock from his left hand straight at goblins head
The rock hit the goblin and he started bleeding but it seems like it angered him more than it scared him so he started approaching Melton once again.
Melton picked up another rock and threw it again at the goblin trying to hit the same spot and open a wound. He somehow hit him again and the goblins wound opened. The goblin was now in pain and started screaming on the ground. Melton was happy his plan was working. He then quickly picked up the largest rock he could hold with two hands ,ran towards the goblin and dropped the stone with all his strength. The rock smashed goblins head and killed him in the process but now Meltons lower half was completely covered in blood of the goblin.
"Man. I'm glad to be apathetic towards most thing. A normal person would throw up. It's not like I don't want to though ."
He took the piece of cloth goblin was using to cover his lower part of the body and continued his search for a source of water . After few more hours, as darkness was slowly falling onto the sky and it was getting darker, he found a river. It was not a large river where a person or a kid would drown but it was large enough for said kid to bathe in. When Melton noticed it he immediately ran towards it. His face started showing signs of joy. Upon getting closer to it he squatted while holding the piece of cloth he stole from goblin tightly with both hands and showing it in the air while screaming things such as "Hell Yeah!" and "Finally!!"

He quickly left the piece of cloth on the ground as not to make it wet while he washed himself for the first time in a while. He made sure to only wash the hands and parts of him that were stained with blood because he had no way to start a fire and he could get ill from hypothermia. After washing himself the best way he could with the water he had and drinking some of the water to regain hydration he waited to get dry a bit before covering himself with the piece of cloth as much as he could and then going to sleep. The ground was not very comfortable and it was dirty but it seems as it was summer so it was not too cold and Melton fell asleep shortly. He did not worry much about the dangers since mountains and hills are filled with pretty much nothing so he had quite a sweet sleep. After waking up he washed himself up, dried a bit on the sun and covered his belt region with a goblin piece of cloth. After being ready to go search for an actual civilization he decided to follow the river because, ever since the first civilizations, humans built villages and cities near rivers so he knew that if he follows it he will meet someone eventually.
"I guess its time to go. Hope to find a village or a town before I die for eating a unknown plant."
And so he kept searching for hours and hours on end without stumbling upon anything. After about 6 painful hours of walking down a river he found a plum tree. It looked identical to the ones from his world and the hunger was making him slowly lose his rationality so he decided to start climbing and eat the plums. Most of them weren't ripe yet and were bitter .He really had no time to be picky so he just started gobbling them down like some kind of a squirrel trying to fit as many nuts as possible before burying them. After filling himself until he nearly started throwing up he drank it down with a bit of water from river and continued his journey down the river. About 5 more hours of walking passed and he finally stumbled upon a fortified falls. It looked a bit like one of those medieval cities you see in a 10$ manga that was on sale because its boring and unoriginal plot made sales barely enough to cover those severely under-payed workers that were making it on 10 hours daily shifts with no overtime payment.
"Guess those things were not messing with me" Melton uttered with a slight smug grin on his face. He was not too happy he was forced into a new world but the fact that he finally found people filled him with accomplishment by instinct since he did not walk for hours in vain.
At the front gate were two guards talking to each other
"Hey. Who the hell is that?" One of them said
"Who?" The other one said
"The guy going towards us" The first one said pointing with his index finger towards Melton
"Mannn... he looks like shit" The second one said
"Yeah. God knows where he's been to"
In front of them was Melton. A 17 years old male with lighter shade of brown hair, completely wet since he was unable do properly dry himself, with nothing but a small piece of cloth around his belt hiding his genitalia and a stick that can be used for walking of hitting a weaker goblin.

Beyond the Bridge
There are many worlds, many multiverses, and you can move between them via the Federation's Bridge network - magical gateways to other worlds. The world dubbed "C'thon" by its inhabitants - or Gamma-Theta-Nu-649, if you ask the Federation's bureaucracy - was deserted when the Federation found it. The "civilized" races had all died out centuries prior, and the wilderness had grown downright feral in their absence. Now, the lonely Federation outpost of Bridgetown is under constant threat from the hungry wildlife, malicious fey, territorial goblins, and wandering undead that surround it. The town's distance from the Federation's centers of power means that it gets precious few of the resources that it needs to stay safe and afloat. Enter the Guild of Adventurers, a plucky and disparate crew who do the Federation's dirty work in exchange for coin. One team, the first of many, crosses the Bridge to C'thon looking for fame, fortune, and (if they're lucky) the answer to a newly-discovered Prophecy. They'll get much more than they bargained for, although first they need to avoid being eaten by the local wildlife. Updates weekly on Wednesday. Chapters will be as long as they need to be for them to work, which means they can vary. If anything drops below 2500 words, I'll post an extra chapter if I have one ready. [PS: This is not a litRPG, but I do borrow heavily from TTRPGs for inspiration, and the general setting and storyline is from a TTRPG campaign I'm running.] [PPS: This is my first attempt at writing long-form fiction. I'm not trying to make a great piece of literature or have a multi-novel overarching plot, but hopefully it'll still be a fun story - let me know what you think in the comments.] [PPPS: Cover image is from a free-download wallpaper by Tyler Edlin; I do not own it, and will take it down immediately if requested.]
