《The Isle (TOME2)》Little Little...

Mom said something about an observatory and a telescope and I'm supposed to have brothers and sisters somewhere. There'd be a hundred dragons there, too. I'd be happy if that was possible...

That comet, it's weird and I can't get it out of my head.

"Purr purr" Vicky was purring and took my mind off it. Everyone was looking at me.

I was at the small waterhole north of the base and a road overgrown with vegetation led to a broken grate, supported by two walls on either side. Two raptors were lying high on top of the 2 walls like fainting dogs looking at each other except they were looking at me. With the intense darkness, their eyes reflected like small lamps because of their night vision.

"Wow. Huah. Huah, Huah, Huah, Huah, Huah, Huah."

Fired the raptors to signal that they were ready and willing to die.

I was attached to them as a family now and I wasn't going to disappoint them.

I also managed, by concentrating and thinking about my two friends in heaven, to generate a shield on each of them. A slight blue aura was emitted from each raptor now.

I took a big breath of air and with a snap of my wings I was propelled into the air. Sunrise was near and the enemies were about to hunt.

I flew silently over the base and saw 10 Allosaurs at the eastern entrance to the base, at an open gate and railroad tracks, probably leading to a structure housing a now defunct gate.

Some, by instinct and with sharpened senses raised their heads.

There was a roar.

The raptors took advantage of the situation to infiltrate and jump on old metal containers and stay high, safe from fatal bites. Seven of them could have killed one Allosaur, but 10 Allosaurs...impossible. There were ten times as many, but they were hunted, stalked and eaten. Truly exterminated.

Without warning, I blew on the group of allosaurs and there was carnage.

2 were badly burned, 2 others to a lesser extent and the group dispersed.

I turned around and came back in a low mound and the other 8 ran away from my flames.

They were all burned to varying degrees and fled when the raptors appeared in unknown numbers and crushed the necks of the 2 Allosaurs on the ground. Some, bolder, chased after the other two burned ones and scarred them forever, reminding them that this was the base of the raptors.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...

The raptors chuckled at their victory, but hungry, they tasted for the first time the flavor of cooked meat.

Soon only the sound of teeth and torn flesh and a few growls so that the eating jaws would not bite each other.

At the site of the Allosaurs, there was now a bony, meaty mush with bloody lizards. A bloodbath.

They were covered from head to tail in blood because they could literally enter the carcass because of the difference in size.

The raptors acted strangely afterwards and they all ran to a narrow place where only they could enter.

I stayed on the other side of the grid and saw nests with eggs. The females immediately began to hatch and repair their abandoned nests.

Hungry cubs came out of nowhere, happy to see their mothers again...

It was crawling with little ones

They were happy but also worried about their eggs, which they had to abandon.

Vicky and I kept outside, climbed up on a roof and slept to recuperate.

Before I went to sleep, I prayed to Mommy, but no more news. I was worried about her, and mostly helpless.

And that comet, I knew it was humans coming. My instinct...

Commander Yamato was looking at this planet on the giant screen as a window to space. A first officer hailed him and pulled him out of his reverie.

"Commander, is something wrong?"

"It's going too well... my intuition. This planet is hiding a secret. "

"I'm listening, Commander..."

"We are not the first visitors... The others have disappeared without a trace, as if they never existed. No more ships, but there must still be survivors or their descendants... send probes before sending settlers and scientists. "

"In the area where there are the most resources, there is nothing, just wild animals, including large predators," says the second.

Yamato: "You looked wrong... Think like the elders: If you had to put in an unstable portal, you would put it away from the resources or habitat areas now... But it used to be closer. We've got new tools and gravitational spike detectors. Use it."

"But it's very slow and time-consuming to use."

"It's because you're looking in the wrong direction. My talismans never lie, but it's up to me to interpret what they say."

On the other side of the sea, on the volcanic continent. I sense a disturbance.

"Aye, aye, Commander."

The second one slipped away and went to the command deck while Yamato watched the images of the volcanoes and the planet's system activity...

"I know you're the...demon...".

John returned to his quarters and was greeted by his daughters.

"What's up, Daddy?" The two daughters fell in love. The boy and his mother listened too.

John raised his thumb and Lea brought a fresh meal to the table. "There's dessert after..."

I was basking against Dantinne. It was the name I had given her, my raptor queen.

Vicky was still afraid alone and stuck to me all the time. From time to time a lick to reassure her and a purr or two was enough to make her anxiety go away. Reptiles are very sensitive to stress and only show it by letting it wear off...

I would go around the nests and, as an alpha male, they would all invite me to climb on them, which I did without hesitation.

"Graaaah" my harem...

I don't regret my former life as a human.

They fainted at every turn, but they kept asking for more.

Lying on my back after the effort, I looked at the stars, my females asleep at my feet. I looked at a blinking dot in the sky. The light was red.

Then, suddenly, little dots came out of the red dot. They were bluish. One of them got bigger and came towards us.

I cast the shield spell on myself and my companions for safety.

They were fast asleep and the lights made absolutely no noise.

Just like in my memories of science fiction movies, they must have been probes. Mom had told me about humans living here. Maybe they came back... but what if they're others... predators?? I'm scared of them.

She was coming at supersonic speed.

Within a matter of minutes, the sphere was at the terminus of the old utility portal.

Lights swept through the ruined structures.

I pushed an "Uwah" like the raptors and immediately they were on their feet. They were glad that I warned them and they went to their hiding place near the nests.

I did the same as they did and took Vicky and lifted her up and flew away to hide her too. Although she was a baby, she measured a juvenile uthah, a little larger than a human.

I was about 20 feet from head to tail.

The sphere went around the base and stopped on the torches...shit!!!!!!

It scanned the base from top to bottom, but the entrance to our hiding place being a narrow corner, the sphere didn't linger there.

But suddenly it gained altitude and spotted the raptors. I wasn't scanned, I was in a corner, under a concrete slab.

Then the sphere went back up to the sky with the others to the red spot.
