《The Isle (TOME2)》Vicious beasts.

My wounds hurt and I slept in a warm place near the lava lake.

"Mom...I'm scared...they're everywhere..."

Heater: "You'll grow up and you'll be taller than them. I must teach you magic and how to defend yourself."

Mommy... You were human like me before...?"

"Sniff... It was terrible... It was Christmas... I had to fly to Daddy for the holidays and the dragon attacked the plane... The pilot, my friend was eaten in midair and the plane didn't even touch the ground. Then the dragon ripped me out of the twisted cockpit and tore my feet off... Broken and bruised, it took me to its lair and threw me on its eggs in its nest. She devoured me alive, egging me up from the feet until I gave up the soul.My spirit, my soul found itself in the egg she hatched.

I hatched almost immediately and she gave me an infernal beak where I had to swallow my own body.

I had two dragon brothers.

To find myself like that was terrible. You don't know how much I hated her, hated my world and hated myself. I was so beautiful before... My friends and those who came looking for me... She devoured them... all of them...

Then she tried in every way that I loved her but she didn't understand... I was trying to run away and she was trying to protect me from the humans until she understood and she took it as a punishment for being cruel. Not knowing how to be forgiven, she decided to let me go...out of love? Out of fear for her two sons that another punishment would come to her through them?

I was found by dad and a friend from a hunting club helped me instead of taking revenge... His wife also devoured by Akulatraxas...

I was able to get on with my life, but everything was distorted, twisted... and..."

Heater collapsed in grief...

"I was happy afterwards...but a terrible fate befell us, as if we had no right to happiness...I am a prisoner here and you are my only visitor in this hellish prison... I beg you, you must live. ...visitors... if humans appear... Cherish them... Protect them and save yourself with them at any cost..."

"Mommy? Mama?..."

"Learn magic.... We don't have much time..."

"Mummy? Mummy? You're scaring me..."

"No, I'm not scared. I love you, my darling... I'd love to hold you in my arms... but I can't tell you... not yet... You'd be unhappy..."

"You've said too much... I'd like to know"

Mom: "Ahhh... How do I tell you this... an asteroid's heading for the planet. We've got a year, two at the most..."

Humans and dragons have evacuated... Except for your mom who fell back with a piece of the damaged ship... ...the transport didn't go well. They may be anywhere in the universe, but they're not on Earth. Worse, a paradox...their existence has been erased. It's as if they never existed. If I can escape and we're together, will you help me look for them? Yeah, I guess so. The comet...Sniff....."

Heater fell silent, desperate and sad to have confessed this secret to me.

She's really nice... Are all dragons nice? Or just each other?

Heater is probably resting... talking to me must be draining all her energy....

I went on my way and my wing was aching to fly and I was grounded, my skin and flesh barely stitched together. A violent gesture or effort and it was a sure bleeding.

But I was thirsty and hungry.

I put myself on my hind legs, leaned on my tail which served as a pendulum and I sniffed the air.

In the valley next door, further south, there must have been a small stream or a small lake. My instincts told me.

The forest was dark and dense, but suddenly it opened up over a large valley of grazing grass.

It stretched almost to the horizon.

That's nice.

I was running and sniffing. There were wild boars. Big... titanic boars...

A human in there would get shredded. It was a world of giants, a Jurassic world...

Humans are like little cats in comparison.

So I'll run to the boar.

He ran fast. Very fast. Too fast.

It was pulling away from me and there was nothing I could do about it. My wing was hurting from the tear that was healing.

But I was hungry... very hungry.

Stomp stomp stomp.

Oh nooooo!

Two Carnotaurus were chasing the same pig right in front of me.

Caught between the three of us, I killed the Titan Boar with a swift gesture.

The two Carnosaurs looked at each other and then looked at me with a strange smile on their faces.

They sniffed at me while I gave them the most beautiful smile full of canines.

Like a cat that is curious their muzzle approached, then withdrew and came closer by lowering their head and finally a lick. The second one did the same. They then licked my mouth and my tongue met theirs. Anyway, they were female Carnotaurus...

A couple of grunts and a few hums and we shared a meal together as a threesome.

My first mates.

After the meal, very gory..., we went to a pond to rinse our faces.

Night was falling and as I was a source of heat on my feet, the 2 juvenile Carnotaurus fell asleep against me.

I didn't feel any hostility. And in the morning we woke up with the softness of the first rays of sunshine.

One of the Carnotaurus wanted to wash me by licking my neck and I did the same. They were purring.

I never found a name for them. But suddenly I wasn't so alone.

They were running fast, almost at fifty miles an hour...

The hunt was immediately easier.

They would pincers the prey that folded towards me, I would spread my wings and a bite or sting and the meal would be served.

I had to forget my fire if I wanted to keep my company.

Mother then began to teach me the basics of magic.

The most important thing was

magic shield, a sort of force field to be set up around me and then us to avoid being bitten.

Magic was awesome.

I had a shield on me. Some kind of second skin, like a shield.

As I rubbed against the sharp stones, I could feel the resistance of the shield.

I also cast a healing spell and my scar made a crust that fell off, revealing new, shiny, pretty scales.

One of the carnosaurs, the dominant one, whom I will call Alpha, started to roar strangely.

She was lying next to me and the other one was leaning against my back.

The Alpha was looking at me like, "Aren't you gonna get mad?"

She was moaning and roaring weirdly and I could hear tiny footsteps coming towards us:

A little dinosaur. Obviously, it was a little one she must have picked up or an egg. But it was a generous beast.

Kwiiik Kwiiik was being the little creature.

Alpha regurgitated some meat and the little one, terrified of me, approached the meaty porridge fearfully and feasted.

Too small to hunt, she was also pecking at him.

He was cute like that and he approached me sniffing me very cautiously like a cat inspecting an object but always ready to pounce.

Now I knew why she was away at night. It was to feed the little one hiding in a burrow.

"Come, my little one, I'm not going to eat you," I said.

Soon he leaned against me to stay warm.

We were awakened in the middle of the night by a terrible roar, probably from the males bickering over hunting territory.

Instinctively, the two Carnos roared but with a kind of lament of submission.

Probably the hierarchy: The Gigantosaurus were first, followed by the T-rex, the Allosaurus and then the Carnotaurus followed by the rest of the species, in order of power.

STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP STOMP

In the middle of the night.

A gigantic dinosaur appeared.

Alpha cried out in tears and so did Beta.

I was away with the little one, terrified by this monster that must have been at least three times my size.

I prayed that he wasn't hungry.

"For God's sake, run away!"

Instead, the two females took up a submissive position in front of the giant, as if they were his dogs. In my opinion, they were preying for him.

The giant accelerated and was on top of me in a split second. His paw crushed my head into the ground and he sniffed my neck. I started moaning like Alpha and his nose reached the small one on my back, which he licked. His cub?

He growled at me and then, as I did not protest and cried, he licked my neck, a symbol of submission for them.

He straightened up and grumbled, making a sign to follow him.

And the four of us followed the monster and we came to a stream that flowed into a huge hole in the bottom of which there was a lake. If we fell into it, the steep walls forbade any escape. A death trap. It was also a refuge. At least when you sleep, the gravel of the creek warns and the abyss protects the back and sides. So, in a fight, you can "tanker" with your jaws to the front while being covered on the flanks and rear.

After walking for an hour, the sun was up and one arrived at the edge of the described abyss.

A carcass of a freshly killed T-rex lay at the foot of the gigantosaur.

He sat down, took a bite and then grumbled towards the carcass. He invited us to share his meal.

Countless scars constellated his skin, traces of many fights and confrontations.

Alpha and Beta approached the carcass and moaned and took a small bite each.

The little one reveling in the fresh, moist flesh, crawling, several layers of active shield, I groaningly approached the carcass and took a small bite. He straightened up, I don't know why, but I ran away several meters.

I didn't want to risk him taking a small bite out of me. They were wild beasts after all. I could never trust them.

Then I realized why he got up.

A dylophosaurus had approached the carcass and taken a bite without asking permission. He grunted at the females and had, like a mean laughing expression, the smile of a murderer.

Dilophosaurus were the assassins of the night, with unstoppable night vision allowing them to see both night and day. Their jaws were designed like scissors, causing intense bleeding. Their technique was to run at full speed and to bite as they passed, while avoiding being bitten in turn, another dilo running into the victim's back and so on. They attacked in a pack. They imitated the cries of other species to lure them into a trap and tired the large predators by emptying the prey around him, harassing him to deprive him of sleep and when he was weakened, they would go around in circles to make him angry and make him run out of breath by making him run until he was exhausted and then all I threw at him ...

A Dilophosaurus can reach 7 meters, weigh between 900 and 1200 Kg, 2 meters high and can reach 45 Km/hour peaks.

The Giganotosaurus, on the other hand, can reach 14 meters long, weigh 6500 Kg, 4 meters high and run with peaks at 40 Km/hour.

To give an order of magnitude, the Carnotaurus were about my size, a little bigger: 8 meters long, 2 tons, 3 meters high and spikes at 52 Km/hour.

It was the race that saved us.

Then we went down the hill and we arrived in view of the valley, the port and its infrastructures, some of them intact and others damaged.

The Gigantosaurus left us and went up to its "nest" or dinosaur fortress ...

Most of the walls were knocked down except those reinforced by dragons, a kind of nesting box...

The little Giga was on me all the time because I played a lot with him, like a little dog, but I couldn't hope for a better intelligence level. Training, forgetting...

At most hunting together and protecting each other. Maybe I could get him used to fire and cooked food, but I was not supposed to have any illusions.

There were still 2 warehouses with a crane and undercarriage parts to get to the dock and a landing platform and a room to drive an elevator to an underground warehouse. But everything was camouflaged and buried deep in the rock. Nothing could be seen from the sky, so I ventured to fly out for an inspection tour.

Dinosaur fences and barbed wire were dragging this and that, and a source of drinking water was available in some sort of fountain or trough my size.

Dragons lived here and so did humans.

It seems that the holes used by the dragons were primitive and then adapted to humans, such as stairs and steps added or carved into the rock so that humans could access the dragon's dens.

My 3 companions grumbled at me because they couldn't feel me anymore as I had flown away and they looked sad.

I had not abandoned them and I returned with fresh meat on the menu.

A herbivorous avasaurus, a kind of small triceratops, had crossed my path and its flesh tasted like chicken.

We took shelter from the barbed wire and the three of us hugged each other.

I liked them and Alpha came up to me and made advances like a parade before mating.

Beta did the same but I was too young and, how can I say it, it didn't work like that. I wasn't excited. But I returned the kindness by hugging and cuddling my two friends.

I started praying to Mummy at night while they slept leaning against me.

Mom taught me that the dragons had hybridized here with wild wyverns and by blood transfer, much like lycantropes, had given them an acceptable intelligence.

Perhaps I could dragonize my friends, but with the risk of a fight or a fight after the necessary bite.

It was an option... so that I could create a family and not be alone.

Then, there was an accident in the sky and an emergency shuttle crashed with children on board, the parents and adults did not survive, except for a paranoid robot AI.

The children were rescued by the dragons who spoke the same language as them and they were adopted by the dragons. The facilities were then set up for the humans to protect them from the dinosaurs or the sharp edges as they called them.

The IA was against it and wanted to make a separate base but the children, terrified, would rather have a dragon family than end up in pieces in the belly of a dinosaur.

They were especially nice to the children but one of them, who had been accidentally dragonized to survive his injuries.

Help arrived through a portal that their ship had set up before it exploded. And the humans arrived and were greeted by the children and their dragon parents.

There was no conflict, and the craftsmanship, the land and the culinary knowledge took over. The mining and energy resources being elsewhere, no conflict arose with the military. The needs being very different, the dragons did not need heating, cars and superfluous material goods, a good understanding was made between the two communities. The dragons, on the other hand, were in very low numbers. About fifty of them. They were quickly employed by the military as escorts and bodyguards for their expedition.

The dragons on the other hand were fond of spices, pastries, sweets and spirits and a barter was quickly established between the two species. The rights were the same for all.

But an astronomical disturbance put an end to this year of good neighbourliness.

A comet was about to hit the planet and it passed close to the planet's orbit before circling the sun.

The order to evacuate was given and the dragons begged the humans to take them with them.

They were frozen in cryocontainers and taken aboard the evacuation ship.

Everyone was evacuated. Your mom was on the last shuttle with your egg in her belly. She was a special case, she was human and also my little sister.

The ship wanted to enter the passage made by the artificial black hole and Inferno, the devouring dragon that was trapped in the heart of this planet captured me first and put me in its place. He had the required skills and had ascended, a celestial dragon whose ultimate goal is to bring life and seed the universe. But he had other plans and he found himself trapped in his own madness.

Taking advantage of the mass of the orbiting black hole, he grabbed on to its pull and broke the rescue ship's teleport.

He thus escaped by creating a terrible earthquake, causing tsunamis.

But the ship teleported badly and created a paradox where the dragons had never existed here and everyone had forgotten them.

Your mother's shuttle was torn from the ship while the crew was already on board and all that was left to do was to transfer her cryogenic container.

The shuttle fell out of the sky and its retrorockets cushioned the impact before it crashed and your mom was freed but injured.

She recovered a little and then you were born.

The black hole fell out of its orbit and fell on the planet and dug a hole to the core and it went inside me and made me an eater too.

The planet stabilized but unfortunately the tsunamis got the better of your mother and my little sister. And there you are now, my little one...

But unfortunately, the killer comet went around the star and instead of going back to its orbit, the black hole deflected it and it goes around the other sun and there is a good chance that it will hit the planet and kill everything here.

AND...

I was interrupted by the screams of Alpha and Beta.

Quickly, I threw a shield at myself but I didn't know how to do that for the others.

No time, no more time.

The little Giga came to protect himself between my wings and I saw the horror before me:

8 Dilophosaurus had sniffed out our trail, and probably the one chased by the Giga had "marked" us.

We hugged each other and rushed towards the sea, but as we left the base, we saw the carcass of the Giganotosaurus, which never had time to come back up.

These monsters had silently tired it out and killed it as well. A professional job.

His throat had been slit in the first attack and he could no longer growl or roar.

Come on, quick. We ran, the little one between my teeth, to go faster and...

Ambush!

8 other dilophosaurus were in our way and there's no way I'm flying away.

I wanted to spit fire to scare them off, but I didn't have time.

BAM, out of breath, 2 Dilos hit me in the side and took my breath away.

1200 Kg at 40 Km/hour, times two, it's as if I was hit by 2 cars at the same time.

My wings scraped the ground, my scales and my shield pulled well and their teeth, by the way, slipped on it without tearing me. I was in pain but I resisted.

As I was rolling, the little one had stayed between my paws and they were trying to clap the youngster and I couldn't assist my friends who were bloody, torn and biting 2 dilos.

2dilos on the ground, 4 on me and 10 on them.

They were lost and the dilos took their distance, waiting for them to bleed to death.

My two dying friends stood against me moaning and groaning and my wings were not big enough to hide and protect them.

They were pulled by their tails and hind legs out of the protection of my wings.

They looked at the little one and me sadly one last time before their eyes froze and a band of bloodthirsty monsters raged over their carcass.

The others swirled around me and I spat fire in their direction and instead of running away, they were like rabid Apache hiss hissing and spitting spitting out of reach of my flames.

They were waiting for me to run out of breath to finish me off.

I was lying down, literally crushing the little one so that no bite could reach him.

Quickly, my fire stopped coming out of my throat and the circle of predators closed in on me and an avalanche of sharp teeth and claws began to rain down on us.

Feeling the good smell of blood and the feast beginning, the 10 others abandoned me to join the feast of the Giganotosaurus and my 2 friends.

I cried and cursed, I was furious and wanted revenge, but any movement meant the death of the little one.

They soon found out that I was impossible to eat and lost interest in me but not in the little one, a delicacy of choice.

I kept my strength and shields up all the time, watching my two friends get torn to pieces.

The show was gory and awful. Sad and horrible.

There was blood everywhere.

I wanted to die, to be alone again, but I had to live because mother asked me to and also for the little one.

They took turns provoking me. They would grunt and whistle and one of them would urinate directly on me to make me angry.

Then one of them, the bigger one climbed on top of me and tried to rape me.

His rear end was trying to get me to move.

It was the ultimate humiliation, one provocation too many.

Then another even more vicious one climbed on top of me and the first one climbed on top of me and they mated by drooling on my head and releasing their fluids on my back.

Those two, there, I swore I'd eat them slow and alive.

DEAD! YOU'RE ALL DEAD!

I was in a rage.

In the early morning, they were gone, the carcasses of my friends completely devoured. Only gnawed bones remained, many of them missing.

The first thing I did was to wash myself and rub my skin against all this filth. The shield having protected me from the juice of their crimes.

They were wicked, vicious beasts. I never knew animals could be so devious.

The day was spent digging a grave for them and I put a stone in it when they were buried. On the stone was A, B, G and a small heart surrounding A and B.

I was mad with grief

The little boy's squeaking made me come to my senses.

"You're in danger here! "I told him. And he jumped on my back. I was his only family.

At last, I found the opening to the tunnel systems indicated by Mother and built by the dragons.

It was big and wide.

They took years to build them, unless magic...

A network of perfectly aligned, inclined columns stretched infinitely into the bowels of the planet.

We found refuge here. A great and long exploration awaited me here.
