Chapter 10
Lyon Amiel
Those 2 men are awfully large. I don't think I will be able to beat them in a fight, I might just run away. I turned my body but it was too late. The dark skinned man had already grabbed ahold of me. I struggled to let go of his grip. Suddenly his grip wasn't there anymore and I looked around to see his face bleeding and Olsis standing right behind me.
“Don't mess with the boy tylo…” Olsis said look of dread.
“I-i w-o-”
“Anytime now” said Olsis.
Olsis is being very scary right now, but i'm glad he came and helped me out of that.
I couldn't beat 1 or even both of them.
“I won't touch the boy again!” the dark skin man said
“Good, now scram. Are you okay lad?”
“Yeah I'm fine I just wanted to eat my food and watch my fight.”
“Great, we can critique it together.”
2 hours later
Olsis fell asleep halfway through. Last thing he told me was that my adjustments were sloppy and needed refinement. I don't know what he wants me to do. I chose training with No’Beck first.
So I'm not even able to use anything but my sword for the next couple years.
Olsis started groaning. I think he woke up.
“Sorry lad that fight was boring as ever”
I shook my head “What do you expect i'm still practically a toddler”
“Well you're right if it wasn't for you.. (Smack) .. What was that for frieda!”
“Watch your words” Grammy said
I was visibly confused
“What?”
“Nothing young one”-Grammy said
“I need you before you go to bed. I need to run a diagnostic on your capabilities before and after a segment of training. Follow me”
Grammy
Left the room and I soon followed. Walking the dimly lit hallways of the temple until we got to the training grounds. To my surprise there was a large black machine with a white orb in the middle.
“ I want you to hit it with your most power spell and non spell attack”
“ Don't blame me if I break this fragile looking machine:
“Oh I don't need to”
I cracked my joints and unsheaved No”beck
“Im ready”
“Go whenever” Grammy pulled out a pen and paper on a clipboard.
I'll start with a spell. From the minimal learnings I had over the last 2 months I learned each spell has 3 stats. Speed,Force,Malleability. Lower the stat the higher the ki drain for that. Making an Ice sword is much easier than making a Sound sword. Sound almost has a near 0 malleability. There are also the special properties of certain elements. Fire has burning, ice has almost a slow effect slowing down joint movements. But easily the strongest force adjustment I can do is lightning.

I slowly adjusted my core for maximum output. Green hue started covering my arm until it started sparkling yellow. Tendrils of lighting were coming off of my arm. A condensed sphere of lightning formed.
“Blast!” The 3 meter sphere of lightning released jutting out as an arc of lightning.
It hit the machine but it had no effect. A glowing white number appeared over it. “126/1000”
“What does that number mean granny?”
“Best as if I show you”
Granny raised her arm and an orange hue sapped out of her arm. The orange ki condensed its rings of water.
“Now I cant use lightning adjustment so I will just use water. Water has much less force stat than lightning.
The water around Grannys arm continued to gain spiral speed until it formed into a cone shape.
Before I even realized anything had happened the machine gave out another number.
“872/1000” “Back in my hay day I could easily reach the low 970”s. I'm making you do this now to show you your progress in power. Also to make you more aware of the difference in number gap. A 110 score and a 120 score the person with a 120 score is about two times stronger than the 110 score. This is accurate until around the low 400 where it dramatically increases in difference. Even Fighting Experts don't accurately know the difference; it's mainly a skill gap. But most agree upon a 4-10x difference. Alright now test your non spell attack.
“Without olsis inside of No’beck I can't change the shape of it so I’m stuck with the straight katana looking weapon. I'm always amazed by the glowing blue runes of the sword no matter what shape or form it is in.
I slowed my breathing and increased my heart rate. This is an uneasy feeling for me since this is the first time I'm doing it. It just came to me after I had a dream last night. My muscles increased in size slightly and I entered a low stance. I launched from my location causing a lag from where I actually was and where you could see me. As I couldn't see my own hands.
I was rapidly reaching the test system but the lag between my mind and my body I struggled to swing my sword. But just as I was reaching the system my body swung straight through the sphere of white energy.
“189/1000”
“Woah not bad kid” Granny said with actual surprise.
“You might actually have a talent for the sword. We're finished here you may go.

She didn't even notice I wasn't moving at all. After my swing the blood rushing through my body all flowed back to my heart causing me to feel very dizzy.
“ I-”
“Woah, that was a pretty cool technique”
“I know I learned it myself from high priest hikari.”
It seems that I am watching the person I learned flow breathing from talk. He looks to be in his late teens. He is a tall and built hawkman. I know almost nothing about this race. But his wings seemed to have been torn off. The woman he was talking to seems to be in her early teens and she is a short white haired dwarf. The myth about dwarfs being small and built is actually not true. They are short but they find putting on muscle very difficult but their ki centers are actually much larger than most races. Or so Olsis told me
“Here I can show you the other things I learned.”
The hawkman continued to release a purple hue out of his talons and they condensed into claws. “ I call this technique extension ki. I can extend ki out of my body creating a solid. This is most times sharper than your average sword. I'd say at my current level I can outperform a C tier weapon.”
“Well that won't matter to us all of the church mandated weapons are B- or above”
“Correct but if my weapon every degrades or is broken it's always nice to have a backup plan”
“Your right about that one Gek”
His name is Gek, Hmmmm. Now that I realize it, it seems like he is almost an astral form… ghost-like. Im looking through an oval shaped portal into their life.
“Here why don't I show you things I learned while I went to Vanguard academy.”
The timid looking dwarf starting adjusting her soul into a snowy blizzard. 2 figures of snow emerged from the ground and looked exactly like the dwarf
“ I call them snow clones. Snow has such a low rating for the 2 out of 3 stats but the Malleability is really high to the point you can make clones of yourself with little ki drain. Now 1 solid hit will cause them to deform as using ki to hold the clone together would make them not worthwhile. But what I do is use this in unison with my ki ability to trap them in place once they made a mistake and hit it. It not only confused the target but lets me get a free couple hits”
“Oh yeah, your ability to ensnare them with a ki trap. I hate that. You'd always place them in the most random of spots and you'd always hit me straight in the gut. So annoying”
“Well that's your fault for falling for such a cheap trick.”
“You cant even see them with Ki enhanced vision so shut your trap”
“I will beat you one day and that day is soon danielle” He said in a cocky tone.
“ You want to put that to a test?”
“Yeh I haven't had a fight since the last trial! No weapons though only our hands.
The 2 jumped back and I took notice of the field. A purple grass field. With boulders scattered throughout. A small stream flowing to the right of them.
“I’ll make the first move!” hawk man said
He launched himself creating swirling winds around his arms. He continued to punch from a distance releasing shockwaves of wind left and right. But the small dwarf was easily dodging them left and right. She then flashed out of my eyes until I saw her and 20 other versions of her.
“Which one will you attack first?” she said with a cute giggle.
“OWH YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!”
Hawk man adjusted into water with spiral of water
“Water Bulge!” Water seeping out from the ground rushed into the sky like a geyser
All 20 including the real one were blasted into the sky.
“Nice one Gek! But did you even think of what was going to happen to you?”
At that same time chains latched onto the hawk man. Danielle slowly walked over to him giggling. “You know the more chain traps you activate the ki drain effect stacks on. So right about now you should feel a major lack of ki.”
“What do you mean I still have a lot more than you.”
While saying that he simultaneously broke out of the chains

The Wolf Saga, Wolf that Devours Empires
The Empire of Human is about to enter a turbulent era. A World Power has fallen. But mere hours after dying, he is reborn as a half-human, half-elf boy named Wolf. The story follows this odd boy as he grows up, his relationship with his father and those around him, his lack of common sense from being raised in the wilderness, and his desire for revenge. Witness Wolf's journey as he aspires to climb to the peak of the world to unravel its mysteries, and as he tries to figure out why it’s wrong to decapitate a street thug when the man tries to mug you. “I mean, the man literally said ‘Money or life,’ so what’s the big deal?” Releases Mon/Wen/Fri. (GMT-ish) Trigger warning. The Wolf Saga may not be suited for you if any of the following disturbs you: - The story will have fighting and killing. The gore will not be explicit, but there will be descriptions such as "head burst like a melon", "instantly turned to cinders", "blood splashed/fountained" etc. Most of the violence will be performed by the protagonist, some of it before he reaches his teens. If such scenes bother you, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have sexual content. It's there for a reason. Once again, these scenes will not be explicit. Genitals will be mentioned sometimes, but never described in detail. Nude bodies will be described in passing, without too many specific details. If you're afraid of nipples, you should probably give Wolf a pass. - The story will have a decent amount of cursing. If you haven't given up by now, this is unlikely to bother you. Still, I believe I should forewarn you that a number of curse words will be making appearance from time to time. - The story will have no small amount of loss for the main character. If you enjoy novels in which everything is fine, the protagonist makes it at the last moment and saves the day... This is not such a story. Life happens. As a reader, I'm annoyed with heroes making it in the nick of time, so for the sake of fairness I used dice on a number of occasions, making do with the result. Sometimes it was anticlimactic, sometimes it was tragic and it led to the story you see before you. Dedication: This story is written for Tired Mom and Wolf, whose arrival the rest of the pack is eagerly awaiting. Thanks: I would like to thank Tired Mom for her proofreading and encouragement over the years. I would like to thank you, Dear Reader, for taking the time to read this big pile of words.
