《Shadow Falls》3: That darkness will be there

Kiritsa, better known as Erida VanIsle, was the Lord of Shadows. Though most do not know her well, some understand that her title is not just a title but a statement. Kiritsa is not to be taken lightly. An unfortunate experience awaits those who become her target or enemy , and know she is not someone to be trifled with.
Many see her on the surface as a thin, short-statured woman, while others dismiss her based on her beauty. While she is a Dark Knight, she is more dangerous than that. She is a powerful Kirral who commands legions, her enemies fear her and she can destroy them with ease.
Countless say that it feels like you are slowly drained of life as you stand in her presence. When the Lord Shadow speaks, some say she seems to devour the oxygen from the air. Kiritsa's power is not to be underestimated. It is as if she could swallow the planet into herself if she so chose. She speaks quietly and walks with a soft grace, but the Lord Shadow hid her emotions with such ease that it was nearly impossible to read her. When she did smile, it could strike fear in those around her. Her smile was cold and it seemed to take on a life of its own -- she became a different person, someone much more dangerous.
Most find themselves distracted by her beauty or titles, and they miss the most crucial detail: the one that can save their lives. She is not to be underestimated just because she might appear humble, gentle, and gracious -- her power would terrify those who may stand in her way as she is a force to be reckoned with. She was an excellent assassin, who could blend in and disappear without a trace. That is why she is the Lord of Shadows – she stands in the chasm between the darkness and the light.

The darkness follows her everywhere she goes. It's ever-present and all-consuming, it waits for the ideal opportunity to strike. Sometimes you can feel its attention on you, it follows your every move. But you should know better than to let your guard down. Because the moment you do, that darkness will be there, ready to pounce. If you are smart, you won't trust her. Ever. Those who do find it's often too late, she has already struck.

The Swarm
Anthony had been looking forward to playing the hottest new virtual reality game. When he put the VR helmet on he was met with a prompt asking him if he wanted to take a test to become a swarm knight. Thinking that this was one of the classes in the game he accepted. Instead of finding himself in the game, Anthony found that he was transported to a different planet. A planet where he would learn the greater truth of the universe. Everything was based on magic in the universe. Except that magic was based on nanorobots, called the swarm, that had been created through highly advanced technology. Genetics determined the access level and the amount of control that someone could wield over the swarm, and therefore their status in this society. Long ago Earth had been cutoff from the swarm. Now that it had been rediscovered, Earth would be reintegrated into the swarm. Unfortunately when that happened all the current technology on Earth would fail and be replaced with the ability to use magic. In effect, it would be the system apocalypse. As someone able to control the swarm, Anthony found himself in the unique position to influence how Earth was reintegrated into the swarm. Perhaps he could change things enough to save most of the people on Earth. But first he would have to learn how to control the swarm and become one of the leaders in the society he found himself in. Warning: If this fiction was a movie I'd rate it somewhere between PG-13 and R for occasional scenes of violence, gore, and nudity.
