The Beginning

After 10 days of the first Gate appearing the world has calmed down a bit and returned to how it was just with Gates now.

Some things have changed in the United States since Gates appeared, these are the changes in order to protect people from Gates and to keep peace and order.

1 - The United States Military are now in charge of Gate security and making sure any other world creatures are taken care of if they try to come across to Earth

2 - Only military personnel or people with the U.S government may enter the gates

3 - If a Gate is discovered nearby civilian populace the U.S military will evacuate the civilians until the Gate is secured and the threat of the Gate is safe for the return of civilians

4 - Anyone found near a Gate without permission or found trying to enter the Gate shall be arrested for terrorism depending what they get caught doing

5 - Civilians may be able to enter the Gates if they so wish, but must apply to the specified Gate's security post before hand, you will then be under the order of the United States Military while in the gate, you will be apart of a expedition force or another force inside of the Gate unless told otherwise

6 - If told to evacuate please comply any damages done by the Gate shall be recorded and the owner will be compensated accordingly

7 - Anyone working in the military will have there pay raised due to the United States now in constant danger from the Gates

8 - Anyone who joins the Military now has the option to apply to be sent into the Gates for their service station, anyone who is stationed at a Gate shall also be paid active duty pay as well as the increase pay

9 - If you Discover a Gate you will be paid by the United States Government

10 - Civilian populaces with Gates nearby will have a Military garrison if they don't have one already in case of emergencies

That is all of the major Changes so far most people saw these as good changes, and some people already began to join the armed forces or applied to enter the Gates.

The only Gates that have been discovered are still near Hawaii so a lot of people are heading over to Hawaii to see it with their own eyes.

I thought about joining up with the armed forces but decided not to for now, I will join up if I need money but right now I will rather focus on work.

I have saved up a lot of money over the years of working, I have been Working at E-Mart for a total of 3 years, i started when I was 18 and now I'm 21.

I raised through the positions of normal workers all the way to Manager, I was offered a higher position but did not want it such I planned on quitting soon.

I had $72,319,78 saved up from all the jobs I worked since I was 17 so I have enough saved up, it was hard saving up this much I had to use a lot of my money on paying off my CDL Training, which was around $5,000 then I payed for a M923A1 that was decommissioned by the United States Military it was the transport version.

The M923A1 cost $25,300 it was up for bid and so it was more expensive, but it was worth it I always wanted a military truck when I was a kid, I always looked up to the military.

Now I owned one and it has benches on the back, it could fit 16 people on the back and 3 in the front including the driver so in total 19 people it can carry.

Once I brought it back to my apartment the owner was not happy, so I had to find a place which would allow me to have the truck, I went shopping for a new place to live and found an old campground which was for sale.

I called them to see if they were willing to be paid in payments they eventually agreed, I paid $25,000 up front and will need to come up with $75,000 to pay the rest off, the owners were an old couple who had this campground since they were younger and can no longer maintain, it so that is why they allowed payments.

I was now down to $16,000 after paying for everything, the gas for the truck was a lot but it was necessary, the campground was an hour and half drive from the nearby city.

Once I got the truck to the campground I looked around the property I now had 100 acres of land with a campground on it, the location was near the shoreline of the Great Lakes so I had a nice beach on the property as well.

The property was mainly forest and of course the beach, some open spots with it being flat with no trees as well, the area did not have to well of soil for anything that would be annoying like poison ivy and thorn bushes, that was a good thing there may be some of them deeper in the forest but the campground and beach area did not have any of the sort.

I began to repaint the truck so that way the camo was no longer there, I painted it a dark green color to match the forest and because it looked good.

I also picked up some food that will last me a month, just canned foods and water, the owner left some tools and the buildings are all in good condition, there were 6 buildings at the campground in total.

This included 3 camp lodges that was designed like a barracks, it had 16 beds in each one so 48 all together they had 4 rooms in each building, each room had two bunk beds so 4 people could be in each room, each building also had a lounge where people can relax and watch some television or just chat.

There was 1 canteen with large lunch tables 5 all together that were made out of wood and had a large bench on each side, you could have about 6 on each side of the bench, and a kitchen with stoves and other kitchen appliances all inside, it had a area where the people would walk up and get served food then would sit at their table.

The camp also had a building with restrooms with running water, it also had main office with from the look at all the rooms there was a reception and a meeting room for the staff, as well as a single bedroom with 1 bed, probably for the camp director, and that was all the camp had to offer overall a nice little camp.

The road leading in and out of the camp was made out of gravel and the parking area was also gravel, the road was maintained nicely with very few potholes, it seems the old couple really kept this place maintained, and how could I forget the main office had a microphone that connected to speakers all around the camp, then inside the buildings had some speakers as well it was cool to see this.

I parked the truck near the Main office and went to the bedroom inside there I turned the Tv on to see that the united states military sent in some more expedition forces into the gate, you could also see another force return with wounded and with black body bags, the united states government told everyone that the gate will have a 24/7 live feed available to the people to see, this gave the people able see what was going on at the gate, you could see the Fob that was built around the gate after the first encounter.

The amount of people who return alive seems to be random, sometimes it's high and sometimes it's low, I turned the Tv off and went to my bed to try to sleep, it took 5 days to get the campground and everything situated.
