Elf forest. The birthplace of all elven. It was located at the south of the earth and covers a very large area. In the Elf Forest, there is 7 kingdom that led by the king as their leader. This king is known as Aragorn. Each kingdom is having its own Aragorn. The job of Aragorn is to lead the Elf people in a kingdom, protect them and make sure all their needs are taken care of.

In each kingdom, they also have one guardian. Only the strongest Elf in each kingdom will be chosen as a guardian. To be selected as a guardians is not an easy job. This is because only the one with their strength is proven by the people and elders can be choosen. The job of this guardians is to stabilize the power between each kingdom and make sure any outsider that wishes to harm their people is been drive away.

Aoi is an elf and one of the guardians of Elf Forest. She is 17 years old. She lives in the kingdom of Avallone which is one of the seven kingdoms in Elf Forest. She is a very stubborn person and always causing a problem. However, even with a personality like that, she has a kind heart. She always helps people in need and protects them from any danger, making all the elven love her even after all the problems that she has caused.

Ingel, the king of Avallone kingdom and father to Aoi. He is a kind king and a great leader for his kingdom. He has ruled the Avallone kingdom for about 50 years. During his reign, all the problems that happen are solved smoothly. But now he has been aged. He does not have enough strength to lead his people like before. So, he wants Aoi to take his place as Aragorn. He always forces Aoi, but Aoi always refuses because she doesn’t like to be tied up.

In the big house that was made from the wood, from the afar the sound of women voice quarrel to her father about the next Aragorn.

“Aoi please… just listen to me this one time. I want you to be the next Aragorn.” A soft voice begging for her daughter.

“No. How many times I told you I don’t want to. Just give up already.” A high voice refusing her father's suggestion.

“But why… Why you don’t want to be the Aragorn? You are the most suitable one. All the people in the kingdom love you. You are kind, strong, brave, and most important you have my blood.”

In the Ingel family, there are three children who are caring his blood which Aoi, Sora, and Sero. Aoi is the first child while Sero is the second and Sora third. Ingel had to choose Aoi as his successor because out of three she the oldest one.

“Having your blood doesn’t make me the next Aragorn. Just because I am your daughter it doesn’t mean you can make a choice for me. Moreover, I have an important job as a guardian. I cannot do the two jobs in the first place.” She tried to give reasons to avoid.

“Being a guardian doesn’t make you cannot be the Aragorn. There are also the guardians that have been the Aragorn before. For examples Haldir, he has been a guardian and also Aragorn in the kingdom in the east forest. With his leadership and determination, their village is known as the strongest kingdom in the Elf Forest. Many strong fighters have been born in their place. So, there is no reason for you to refuse.” Reply Ingel while praising the king of the east forest. The reason Ingel said that is because he wants to boost Aoi's motivation so she can be even a better leader than Haldir.

“But Father…Why I have to take your place. I am still young and have many things that I want to do.” Still refuse. Her father's words did not increase her interest at all. She still with her determination.

Looking at her daughter stubborn, Ingel reduce his voice and tried to begging slowly to change Aoi’s mind. “Aoi, this is not about you. This is about our kingdom...our people. The elf kingdom needs a good leader to lead them. I cannot lead them anymore with my age. Sooner or later, you have to take my place as well.”

Ingel had ruled his kingdom for a long time. For 50 years he had done his best for his people. All the problems that happen before, successfully be solved without any problem. However, with his age now, he cannot rule his people anymore. He cannot move freely and even his energy is also limited. That why he so desperate to make Aoi as Aragorn.

“But father, lead the village, giving order and listen to people problem is not my expertise. I like freedom and adventure. Find a new place and opponent to fight is what I like father. Why don’t you just make Sora as a leader? He is very genius. His IQ is surpassing the entire elf in history.” While recommending Sora as a leader.

Sora is her little brother. He is very genius. Even at a young age but he already thinking like a mature adult. Whenever any problem involving villagers happen, he is the one that always comes out with the solution. Not only that, but Sora also knew everything about magic and rule. He knows how magic works and the principle behind it. That why Aoi is very respectful to Sora.

“He is too young to lead the village. He only just 9 years old. Even his IQ is high, but his age is the problem. Our people will not accept that they will be ruled by a kid. Moreover, I am scared that he will be oppressed by our people in the future.” Ingel makes a refuse.

“Then how about Sero? He is very strong and talented in combat and magic. In just 1 year he has mastered all the secret techniques from our kingdom and others. With his strength, I believe people will not question him anymore even with his age.” Change her mind to Sora twins, Sero.

Sero is Sora twins but has the opposite personality from his little brother. He is very tough, aggressive, and strong in a fight. If Sora is the shield that protects people, then Sero is the sword that attacks enemies. With her combat abilities, he easily defeated many enemies that cause the problem in their place before.

“Aoi, he also too young and ... he has a problem controlling his emotion.” Ingel admits that Sero is strong but he has a problem control his emotion. His emotion has become part of his power and someday in the future, if he doesn't learn how to control it, his emotion will consume himself.

“Aoi, I want the best for our kingdom. I don’t want the place that your mother loves so much led by an unsuitable leader. You are the most suitable one. Your mother also wants you to lead the kingdom. Please Aoi. I’m begging you.” He still not given up. He really loved this kingdom because this is the place of memories with his beloved one. So, he wants the best to make sure this place is always peaceful. “I sure your mother will also...”

“But mother has died.” Cutting her father's word with a higher voice without thinking ahead. She is very angry with her father's decision because whenever this talk happens, her father always brings her mother’s name as a reason to force her.

It’s like a thunder that shot the ground, Aoi words has make the atmosphere begins to change. The two of them suddenly be silent. Ingel looked down his face facing to the ground. He is very sad with Aoi's words. All he wants just only the best for his people because that the last wish from her mother before she died. Without him realized a tear drops from his eyes.

Aoi turns around looks at her father when thinking back about her words. She really no means it, but when she turned around, she is very shocked to see her father that has been looking down at the floor with a tear in his eyes. Then, she realizes her mistake. She knows that deep inside her father's heart, he still has not accepted her mother's death. He is very missed her mother so much as she is.

Suddenly, she walks slowly toward her father and give him a hugs to calm him down. With a low voice she whispers to her father's ear “I’m sorry father. Please give me some time to think.”

After that, without a reply, she leaves her father alone in the room. Deep inside her heart, she really doesn’t want to be an Aragorn but after look at her father like that, she feels guilty. Her father put a high hope for her to become the best leader in her kingdom but she cannot make it come true. Now she has to choose between her happiness and responsibility.

“Why these have to happen to me?” She questions herself.

From afar, there is a little boy who hides in the corner of the door and accidentally heard the conversation between these two. He slowly let out a long-suffering sigh and walked away from there. The boy was Sora.

Aoi has arrived at the certain bar. The bar is shape like an old restaurant house but with a signboard that hanging at the door that said “HIGH ELF”. Actually, this bar is the place where the entire strong elf gathered. The HIGH ELF on the signboard is the meaning that only a strong and certain elf people can enter it and do a quest.

The quest is the job given by the elder of every village to solve the problem that happens in the kingdom and forest. The reward is given based on their category. The quest is divided into three categories which are normal, hard, and expert.

The normal quest is involving fighting the wolf, slime, trolls, and other low-level monsters. This quest is the easiest one because even a single Elf can do it. It did not require a lot of magic and usually take a short time.

Meanwhile, the hard quest is about fighting the boss-level monster and group of enemies. This quest is a little bit harder than the normal quest. This is because this quest needed a group Elf working together as one to clear it and usually need a longer time than a normal one.

And the last one is the expert quest. The expert quest is the most difficult one. This quest involving saving the kingdom that only a certain elf can take this job. This is because if you are not strong enough, it only will cause you dead by taking this quest. However, the expert quest is nothing that impossible for Aoi. During her past, Aoi once finishes a few expert quests by herself that make her the strongest elf in her kingdom.

Aoi slowly walked to the entering of the bar. In entering, they are two male elves that guard the door. The one with the big body and another with a tall body. The two of them are holding a spear in their hand. The job of this guard is to make sure that only an elf that permitted by the elder only can enter. However, because of many times taking the quest, the guard is known Aoi very well. The guard was greetings Aoi.

“Yooo Aoi. Wanted to take a quest again.” Said the big guard friendly.

“Yeah.” Reply Aoi simple, with a big smile.

“This time what problem you will cause.” Add the tall guard with a joking tone. He really loved to teasing Aoi. This is because Aoi has a cute face with a big blue eyes and long blue hair. Her body is not to big or small and was perfectly match her face. Her face is so pretty which makes her more beautiful when she was angry.

“Hrmm…So rude. You think that I always cause a problem every time I take a job.” While pout her face holding her anger. She looks very cute with that angry expression.

“Hahaha…Don’t be mad. I only joke.” While patting Aoi's head. He knows even Aoi causing so much trouble when doing jobs, but the people still love her. This is because of her attitude that always helps people in trouble and protects them from any danger making them love her. “You can enter now.”

“As long as you understand.” While giving an unassuming smile and take a big step into the bar. She lazy to continue the conservation anymore. The more she talks, the more angrier she will be.

In the bar, it seems there are many strong Elves was gathering in there. Some of them are research for the quest, make a preparation, recruit the group, and more. The atmosphere there is very tense because of the many elves gathered together inside. Without wasting time, Aoi walks to the quest board, where the quest paper is placed to do some mission.

“Hrmm… which one should I take this time. There are so many of them.” She asked herself while looking at the quest board.

In the quest board, they are many quest papers that have been placed there. Some of them involving fighting monsters, find a certain item, guide people, and many more. And some of them need a certain party to be completed.

After researching the entire paper quest, her eyes locked on a one quest paper. The reward is not very high but the quest is about fighting the troll that has caused the chaos in the north forest. “Yosh…I decided will take this one” she told herself while taking out that quest paper.

Then she takes the paper quest and walked to the counter table. At the counter, there is a young elf woman who is standing there. Actually, this counter woman's job is to provide any information about the quest that anyone wanted to do. She also has to ensure that only Elves who meet the set conditions can perform a quest chosen.

“Hello, Aoi. Can I help you?” asked the counter woman friendly with a smile when she see Aoi’s. Because of too many times taking a quest, she also knows Aoi very well.

“Yeah. I want to take this quest.” While placing the quest paper on the counter table.

“Ohhh… this quest.” Her expression changes from smiling to a serious face.

Aoi notices the change in that woman's expression. It looks like there is something wrong with the quest paper that she chooses. With a curious face, Aoi asked her. “What the matter?”

“It’s nothing. It’s just this quest…” Try to smile back.

“Is there is anything wrong with this quest?” ask Aoi again.

“…This quest just arrived this morning. Usually, when the elder gives us a quest, they will provide a piece of detailed information about the enemies, so we can make preparations to face them. However, in this quest, the elder is not provided us any information about the enemy except for their species and they said that this quest takes place in Edhellond kingdom territory, the ruler of the northern forest.” Explain the counter women.

“So, are you said this is a dangerous job because we don’t know about enemy strength.” Reply to Aoi with an excited voice.

The counter woman nods her head.

“Then… this is the perfect opportunity for me then. Maybe there is a strong opponent there that I will face later. This makes me really excited.” With an excited voice.

Since was little, Aoi really likes to fight a strong opponent. This is because when she fights a strong opponent, she will gain more experience and can be even stronger than she already is.

The counter women just see Aoi’s action without says any words. She knows Aoi’s very well. There no point to stop Aoi’s because she will never listen to others. She will do whatever she wants even so many people warning her.

“I decided, I will take this quest.” Said Aoi with a big smile to the counter woman.

For Aoi’s doing a job is the best thing to forget the problem that happen before. By do a job or fighting a monster, she will release her stress and being more cheerful than she already is. When thinking back about her talk with her father before, makes her head hurt.

“Onee-chan…” the soft voice that suddenly called her from behind, making her startled. She slowly turned around to see the owner of the voice.

In the back its looks like two kids looking at her with an angry eye. She recognized the two of them. The two of them are her twin brothers Sora and Sero. Sora is the younger brother while Sero is the elder brother. Even though they are twins but in terms of mind, Sora is more mature than Sero. The two of them have the same face with big blue eyes and white hair, so it is hard for a stranger to tell the difference between these two. However, as her sister that grown up together with them, it was easy for her to distinguish between these two.

“Sora, Sero what are you two doing here?” Ask her towards her twin brother.

“Nothing important. We just passing by this place. But when we saw you walking into this bar, we have been following you. So, what are you doing here?” Counter Sero.

“Errr actually…” tried to think of a reason to avoid these two.

“Huh…wanna go to fight again!!” Said Sora cutting his sister's talk with a little sigh after looked at the paper that his sister holds in her hand. “Onee-chan ... when you want to stop doing all this. The kingdom needs a leader to lead them and you are always out to fight. Have you not considered father feeling at all?” with his right hand touching his head, tired thinking of her sister.

As an aspect from Sora. Even he is just a little but her mind is like an adult. Even the most important secret like this he gets to know. So, it is not wrong for him to get the title as -the most brilliant elf in history-. Talk Aoi in her mind.

“I’m just want to go fight the troll in the north forest, that all Sora. I’m not taking any expert quest. I want to release my stress by fighting these monsters.” It was useless to lie to them because they will find out in the end.

“Really?” Ask Sero while glaring at her sister. He is doubting her.

“Really. I never lie to you two.”

“Anyways....lets us follow you this time, to make sure you don’t make anything stupid again.” Added Sora when he remembered the fire tragedy in the east forest that make all the forest is burned because of his sister's stupid idea. Even though her sister is strong but her stupidity surpasses the entire elf in history.

Aoi with a smile “ok.... let’s go”

Even though the two of them are still young but Aoi believes in them because the two of them have the skill that makes them complements to each other. In the kingdom, the two of them are known as the twin dragons because they are never defeated by anyone except Aoi if the two of them are working together. That why at a young age they already are trusted to do a quest.
