《Invader Zim >> Not Just a Defect <<》Chapter 7: Trust?

Dib and Zim were in Dib's living room, coming up with the final parts to the plan.
"Alright, I think that's everything. All we have to do now is fix Tak's ship, and then we should be good to go" said Dib, smiling proudly.
"Indeed Dib. You know, we actually make a pretty good team when we're not fighting with each other" said Zim, smiling back.
He was wearing his disguise, just in case Professor Membrane came home early.
"You know Zim, I never really thought that we'd actually become friends, but here we are! Planning on stopping the Tallests from killing you and destroying Earth. Who knew!" Said Dib, chuckling.
"Yes, I guess it is kind of weird" said Zim, also chuckling.
"DIB!" screamed Gaz from the top of the stairs.
"YES GAZ?" Called Dib.
"YOU GOT A CALL FROM SOME GUY WHO SAID HE'S THE LEADER OF THAT CRAZY ORGANIZATION YOU GOT KICKED OUT OF!!!" Screamed Gaz.
"FOR THE LAST TIME GAZ, I WASN'T KICKED OUT OF THE SWOLLEN EYEBALL NETWORK. BUT OK. I'LL BE UP IN A MINUTE!" Yelled Dib back.
"COME UP HERE NOW!" screamed Gaz.
Dib rolled his eyes.
"You good to clean everything up while I go see what The Swollen Eyeballs want?" Asked Dib, getting up and walking over to the stairs.
"Sure thing Dib. I'll bring them all up to your room" said Zim, picking up some of the papers they had scattered around the sofa and coffee table.
Dib nodded and dashed up the stairs.
True, he hadn't spoken to the Swollen Eyeballs in a long time, but he wasn't kicked out.
Dib walked into his room and saw that his computer was on.
Gaz must have answered it when she heard someone video calling him.
Dib sat down on his chair and looked up at the screen in surprise.
"Agent Mothman, it's nice to see you're still in the agency. Find anything about that alien you're always talking about?" Asked the leader.
No one knew much about him.
What Dib did know about the leader was the fact that he was in a hover wheelchair and almost never video called anyone.
The only thing Dib could see was his black silhouette and glowing red eyes.
"Sir, I'm sorry for not contacting the other agents. I've been really busy these last few months" explained Dib, bowing his head.
"Agent Darkbootie and Agent Tunaghost were getting worried about you. Now tell me, did you find anything about that alien you're always talking about?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.
"Uhh...." said Dib, gulping.
He was sweating nervously and trying not to look at the screen.
"Mothman-" started the leader, but Dib interrupted.
"I-I have t-to...uh....PICK UP MY DRY CLEANING! YAH! I'LL BE RIGHT BACK JUST WAIT HERE!" screamed Dib, rushing off.
He had opened his closet door and slammed it shut behind him, hiding inside.
Dib was sweating nervously, trying to think.
"Come on Dib! I can't just betray Zim like that! He's my friend now!" Said Dib to himself.
He then walked over to the other side of the closet.
"But this is the leader of the Swollen Eyeballs we're talking about! He's ACTUALLY video calling me! He NEVER does this!" Said Dib.

He walked back go the other side of the closest.
"But Zim is my friend! Sure, he's an alien, but I just can't do this to him!" Said Dib.
He walked back to the other side again.
"But if I tell the leader about Zim being an alien, he'll be able to take him in and find out about the Irken Empire and all of their weaknesses. We'll be able to stop the Tallests AND save Earth!" Rationed Dib.
He WOULD technically be saving Earth by doing this.
And Zim doesn't have to know it was him.
Dib took a deep breath.
He walked out of the closet and sat back down on his chair.
"Ah, Mothman. How was the....dry cleaning?" Asked the leader, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.
"That's not important right now sir. What is important is the alien. His name is Invader Zim, and he's an Irken from the planet Irk sent to take over Earth for his leaders, the Almighty Tallests. He goes to my school and is disguised as a kid with green skin, claiming he has a skin disease. His disguise consists of a black wig and contacts. He has a robot helper named Gir, a SIR unit, a purple space moose named Minimoose, and two roboparents. He doesn't live far" explained Dib.
He didn't even feel any remorse for what he was doing.
"Very good, Agent Mothman. I'll send a team over there right away, and then you can show them where the alien's base is" said the leader.
"Alright. Thank you sir" said Dib.
He signed off and sigh.
He had done it.
He told the leader about Zim.
Dib shook his head.
The plan he and Zim had come up with probably would have failed anyway.
Dib just had to remind himself that this was for the good of humanity.
He was saving Earth by handing Zim over to The Swollen Eyeballs. They were gonna get all the information they needed from Zim's PAK, and they would be able to inform the government about the Irken Empire coming to destroy Earth.
Dib smiled as he got up and walked over to his bedroom door.
He opened the door, about to head down stairs when he halted in his tracks, gasping.
"Zim!?" Asked Dib, startled. He then started to worry.
Zim wasn't looking up at him.
He had been standing in the hallway, about to go into Dib's room to give him the papers when he heard his conversation with the leader.
Zim was clutching the pile of papers in his arms, close to his chest as he kept his eyes on the ground.
Dib couldn't see his face to know what emotions he was feeling.
"Zim...?" Asked Dib, getting worried.
Zim looked up at Dib, glaring at the boy.
Dib gasped when he saw that Zim was crying.
"Why would you do this Dib? I-I....I thought we were friends" said Zim angrily.
"Zim, I did it so I could save the Earth. If they take you in and run some experiments with your PAK, they might be able to find out all of the Irken's weaknesses and will be able to stop the Massive from ever coming here" said Dib, trying to explain.
Zim sniffled and tried to wipe away his tears.

"That's NOT the POINT Dib. You betrayed me by handing me over to your STUPID organization. I thought we were friends, but friends don't do this to each other. But you DID. I-I don't even know if I can trust you anymore!" Said Zim angrily.
"Zim, I-" said Dib, but the Irken had shoved the pile of papers into his arms before running off.
Worried, Dib tossed the papers onto his bed and rushed after the green skinned boy.
He ran out of his house and looked around.
He had lost sight of Zim.
"ZIM!" Shouted Dib.
He started to worry.
He had to find Zim.
He ran in a random direction, looking for the young Irken, hoping he would find him before it was too late.
With Zim
Zim had run off, leaving the black haired boy behind.
Zim had managed to run so far, he found himself in a small clearing in a park.
Luckily, there was no one around considering it was almost night.
Zim stopped running and fell to his knees, feeling more tears rolling down his cheeks.
Why did Dib do it?
He had thought the boy was done with trying to expose Zim, but apparently he was wrong.
The Tallest are coming to kill him and destroy Earth. He was told the entire truth about his mission. Dib pretended to be his friend, and then betrayed him.
The Tallests were right.
Zim WAS a defect.
A normal Irken would have found out sooner, and would have killed the traitor before they even knew what was going on.
Zim was useless, pathetic, an embarrassment to all Irken Invaders, but overall, be was a defect. He should have never been born and activated in the first place.
Zim tried to wipe away the tears that were still falling.
He suddenly heard a loud noise.
Shocked and confused, he looked up and saw an Irken Drop Ship coming in for a landing.
Zim immediately stood up and got defensive.
He didn't even bother trying to hide his tears.
The ship landed in the clearing and the cargo doors opened up, revealing the entire squad of Invaders.
They all rushed out and pulled out their weapons, pointing them at Zim.
"What is the meaning of this? What's going on?" Demanded Zim, angered.
"Silence! Traitor Zim, for the murder of Tallest Purple, you are under arrest by the Irken Empire. You're coming with us back to the Massive!" Shouted Invader Chin. He was one of the taller Invaders.
Zim gasped.
"B-But....I DIDN'T murder Tallest Purple! I was here on Earth the entire time!" Said Zim, trying to explain.
As he said this, he had started backing up, ready to escape, but bumped into someone who was standing behind him.
Zim turned and saw the General, wearing her purple Irken Soldier uniform and her black tinted, purple helmet.
The General chuckled and, swiftly, took out her stun gun and shot Zim with it.
Zim screamed as he felt the electrical shock from the stun gun.
Zim fell to the ground, nearly unconscious, but not quit.
Zim struggled to look up, feeling a new wave of pain wracking his body.
"I-I didn't-" started Zim, but the General just chuckled again.
"Somehow, you managed to teleport onto the Massive and MURDERED Tallest Purple AFTER they both told you about your mission and how you're just a DEFECT. For your crimes against the Irken Empire, Tallest Red is having you killed personally. As a show of respect, he's taking you back go Irk, that way, EVERYONE will be able to witness the last breaths you take before your demise" explained the General.
Zim didn't even have the strength to fight back.
He winced as he felt another wave of pain.
"Invaders! Back in the ship! Mimi, warm it up! We need to get out of Orbit as quickly as possible!" Ordered the General.
Zim gasped when he recognized the SIR units name.
"TAK!?" Said Zim, shocked.
The General chuckled.
She then reached up and removed her helmet from her head, revealing that it was indeed Tak.
"Surprised? I'm the new Irken Soldier General, Zim. Tell me, did you REALLY think I was dead?" She asked, kneeling down and grabbing his chin with one hand, making him look up at her.
"After I was blasted away in my escape pod, I managed to crash land on one of the planets that had already been conquered by Irk. All I had to do was call them and tell them that I was alright. The old General was dead, so I stepped in, taking charge after his ship was unfortunately sucked into that Florpus Hole. He was unable to escape it. And now with ME in charge, I'll be able to make sure you REALLY die" giggled Tak. She let go of his chin and stood up.
She ordered two of the Invaders, Invader Flobee and Invader Larb, to grab Zim and take him aboard the ship.
They did as she told them and picked him up, dragging him onto the ship.
Unfortunately, Zim was unable to do anything. The stun gun must have temporarily disabled his PAK, so he wouldn't be able to escape using his spider legs.
All he could do was lay limp on the floor, hearing the door to the ship being closed.
With Dib
Dib had been running around, looking for Zim.
"ZIM! WHERE ARE YOU!? I'M SORRY!" Yelled Dib desperately.
He then heard a loud noise and turned to see what it was. He gasped when he saw a large Irken Drop Ship landing at the town park.
He was confused, but then started to worry.
As he ran towards the area where he saw the ship land, he heard someone scream in pain.
Recognizing Zim's voice, Dib ran faster until he came to the clearing.
He was only able to catch a glimpse as the cargo door shut. He was only able to get a quick glance of Zim being dragged into the ship, nearly unconscious.
"ZIM! NO!" Shouted Dib, rushing forward to try and stop the ship.
Unfortunately, the ship had flown up a couple of meters before turning and blasting off, using hyperspeed and disappearing into the starry night sky.
Dib was left all alone in the clearing.
"NOOO!" Yelled Dib angrily.
He fell to his knees and punched the ground in anger.
Zim was taken away, and it was all his fault.

Oublivants: a category of dungeons characterised by the antithesis of life, necrosis. "Dungons as a whole tend towards the lethal side when it comes to exploring them; however, an oublivant actively seeks out destruction on a grand scale. It continuously expanded along the surface, so fast you could see it, and left nothing but a scorched, withered wasteland in its wake. Wherever the oublivant resides, nothing but the undead exist, as all living life has been eradicated. Why it is, exactly, the oublivant seem so against life so as to break the passive rule dungeons have is unknown.
