《Invader Zim >> Not Just a Defect <<》Chapter 5: Betrayal

With The Tallest
The Tallests were in the main control room of the Massive.
The giant ship had been fully repaired, and was on its way to Earth.
They were traveling twice the speed they normally went, that way they'd arrive at their destination faster.
Purple was thinking, zoned out.
Did he REALLY want to go through with this?
Yes, he and Red both hate Zim because he's SOOOOOOO annoying. And he ruined Operation Impending Doom I. He also got TWO Tallests killed by his creation, and caused a black out THREE times on Irk (one of them was half the planet).
Overall, Purple has enough right to hate Zim JUST as much as Red does.
But would it be very.....leaderly....to be killing one of Irks most loyal Invaders?
Yes, Zim did all those bad things. But those are all in the past. In fact, Purple can't even name one other Invader who was as loyal and devoted as Zim is.
Heck! He WORSHIPED them!
He did everything IN THE NAME of the Tallests.
He then remembered all the research he did about Earth.
He was quite surprised how much he learned.
Yes, humans are disgusting creatures who don't care about other human beings except for themselves, but there are SOME humans who are actually NICE.
He also learned about nature, and how this thing called 'trees' supplies the planet with the Oxygen it needs for humans and animals to survive.
There are people out there cutting down trees, but there are others who plant them.
He also learned a lot about the different species of animals who inhabit the planet.
Over 8.7 MILLION!
And there are still new species being discovered every day!
Some of these animals are very deadly, such as venomous or bloodthirsty snakes or crocodiles. Some humans even DIE because of this thing called 'Shark Attacks'.
Purple shook his head.
He had dug around a bit more, and found that sharks are actually docile creatures. The only reason they attack humans is because some of them wear this thing called 'wet suites', which makes the humans appear more like 'seals'. Most sharks will only go in for one bite, to see if they like the taste, but they immediately spit them out because they dislike the taste of humans.
Some people still die, but only because they're not careful.
But then there are the animals who are cute and cuddly, such as foxes and panda bears.
Purple's thoughts immediately switched to the food.
There are different cultures with all KINDS of different foods.
If he recalled, Zim told them that meat was bad for Irkens, and will literally make their skin blister and burn.
But then there are the snack.
THE SNAAAAAACKSSSSSS!
There are so many different kinds of snacks they could eat. Purple had never had any human food before, and wanted to see how different it would taste, in comparison to alien food.
Purple had found so many bad things about Earth and the humans who live on the planet.

But at the same time, had found TWICE as many positive things about it.
Purple now had second thoughts about blowing up Earth.
And he was also having second thoughts on killing Zim.
He just didn't know how to tell Red about it though.
He was afraid he'd be angry.
He seems pretty dead set on killing Zim and destroying Earth.
"PURPLE!!!!" Screamed Red at the top of his lungs.
"WHA-? WHAT!? WHAT'S GOING ON?" screamed Purple, startled.
"You were zoned out. I was asking you what you found out about Earth" Demanded Red.
Purple flinched by the tone of his voice.
"Well....Earth doesn't actually seem that bad anyway. I found a lot of bad things about it, but I found twice as many good things too. I downloaded them all onto this drive" explained Purple, pulling out a small disk drive labeled 'Earth'.
Red snatched it out of his hands and looked at it suspiciously.
He looked back up at Purple, agitated. "That's it?" Asked Red, annoyed.
Purple was confused.
"There's got to be MORE information about Earth. I thought there'd be more. This is USELESS to me!" Said Red angrily, throwing the disk drive.
It hit the floor and broke apart into small pieces.
Purple felt sad, knowing Red was angry at him.
He sighed.
Good thing that was only a copy of the original.
Red groaned, annoyed.
"Well whatever. We're gonna blow that useless pile of rock up anyway. I don't care what happens. But first, we need to take Zim and deactivate him, make sure he doesn't try to stop us. Although I highly doubt that anyway. He's probably moping around about how we told him the truth. It was HIS fault we had to go through that....NIGHTMARE....in the Florpus Hole" said Red, ranting.
Purple just shook his head and turned away from him.
He felt like being productive, so he picked up an Irken Control Tablet and took a look at the readings on screen.
Sensing there was something.....off...... ...about Purple, Red turned and narrowed his eyes at him.
"Hey Purple, you feeling alright?" Asked Red, starting to get suspicious.
"Yaaaah? Why?" Asked Purple, sweating nervously.
Was Red onto him?
"Purple.....I want you to tell me what's going on with you. Normally you'd be more excited about having the chance to FINALLY get rid of that annoying rodent. We're also going to blow up a planet! Usually you're super happy about seeing a poor defenseless planet destroyed. What's wrong with you?" Demanded Red.
Purple gulped.
Well, he may as well tell him the truth. What's the worst that could happen?
Purple put the tablet down and turned back to Red, taking a deep breath before exhaling.
"Well....you see Red....I-I think that....we SHOULDN'T....kill Zim and blow up the Earth...." said Purple, trailing off.
He was sweating nervously even more now.
Red was silent.
He didn't say anything for a couple of minutes.

Purple was starting to get scared that he had said something wrong.
"Purple.....explain yourself....NOW" hissed Red.
Purple gulped.
"W-well....you see....I think that Earth isn't such a bad place to live, you know? Sure, there are bad humans and dangerous animals who want to eat you, but there are a lot of good things about Earth as well. So many, in fact, that I wouldn't be able to name every single one right now....but it's all in the disk drive I gave you....at least in the copy I made...." explained Purple, getting nervous.
Red crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes.
"And about Zim....." trailed off Purple.
Red raised an eyebrow, glaring even harder.
"I think we shouldn't kill him. Sure, he did a whole bunch of terrible things back then, and ruined Operation Impending Doom I....but would you want to kill one of our most LOYAL and DEVOTED Invaders!? The little guy practically worships us! He did everything he could to please us. And what are we gonna do? Kill him! I don't want to kill Zim AND destroy the Earth! We just can't!" Said Purple, starting to get angry.
Red inhaled back before regaining.
"GUARDS!" he yelled.
Purple was confused.
A bunch of Irken Guards rushed into the control room.
"Yes sir?" Asked a female Irken. She was wearing a purple and black striped Irken Soldier uniform, and was wearing a purple and black helmet over her head. The helmet covered her face, which was hidden behind a black tinted face cover made of glass. She had a slight British accent and a Sir Unit with one large metal clawed arm stood next to her.
"You're the new Irken Soldier General?" Asked Red.
"Yes sir! Reporting for duty" she said, saluting.
"Good. Take Tallest Purple away and lock him up in the dungeon" said Red.
"What!?" Shouted Purple, shocked.
"Yes sir!" Said the General, saluting again.
She activated the spider legs in her PAK and stood up on them so she was taller. She then took out electric handcuffs and cuffed Purple's hands behind his back.
"Red!? What are you doing!?" Asked Purple, shocked.
Red scoffed.
"I won't let you ruin this for me Purple. I'm finally going to get rid of Zim, and then Earth. Wouldn't want you getting in the way, would we? So, I'M having you locked up in the dungeon, where you'll be staying until AFTER I finish my mission. Then, you'll pay the price for insubordination against the Irken Empire" said Red, chuckling evilly.
"NO! You can't DO THIS!" Yelled Purple, trying to struggle out of the handcuffs.
Unfortunately, the General had taken out a zapper and zapped Purple, stunning and paralyzing him.
The purple clad Tallest fell to the floor, unconscious.
"Take him away. And make sure you block him from using his PAK. Wouldn't want him escaping" said Red.
"Sir yes sir!" Said the General, saluting.
She had some of the other Irken Soldiers help her drag the Tallest out of the control room.
As soon as the door shut, Red chuckled as he linked up a multi-transmission to all of the Invaders (minus Zim of course).
The images of all the Irken Invaders who were out conquering appeared on the large screen in separate transmissions.
Red didn't even notice one of the Invaders was missing.
"INVADERS! I have terribly grim news for you all! Tallest Purple had been murdered!" Said Red, pretending to be distraught.
The Invaders all gasped, all asking questions on who did it.
Red silenced them with a simple hand gesture.
He and Purple had already told all the Irkens that they were alright and had survived the Florpus Hole a couple of days ago.
"Invaders....Tallest Purple and I had told Zim the truth about his mission. He got angry and somehow snuck onto the Massive while it was getting rebuilt. Invader Zim had murdered Tallest Purple and escaped, possibly going back to Earth. I want you all to stop what you're doing, and hunt down the traitor. From now on, Invader Zim shall be called Traitor Zim from now on. I want that traitor to be brought to me immediately, do you hear?" Demanded Red, slamming his hands against the consol.
"Yes sir, Tallest Red, sir!" Saluted the Invaders.
Their screens all turned black as they signed off.
Red could only hope and assume they were all preparing to leave immediately to hunt down the traitor.
Red chuckled evilly.
Zim will be dead in a few hours and Earth shall be destroyed.
Unfortunately, Red had no idea that one Invader had been hiding behind the opened door on the opposite side of the control room.
Invader Skoodge was shocked.
He couldn't believe what he was hearing!
He just witnessed Tallest Red throw Tallest Purple in the dungeon AND lied about him being murdered by Zim!
He didn't know what to do.
Skoodge had to warn Zim about this!
The short, chubby Invader turned around, about to leave, but gasped when he saw the new General standing behind him.
He couldn't see who she was, or her emotions, because of the tinted black screen of her dark purple helmet.
"Invader Skoodge. You're not going anywhere. You're under arrest for spying on the Almighty Tallest therefore you will be imprisoned back on Irk" said the General angrily.
"No! I have to go warn Zim!" He exclaimed.
The General took out her stun gun and shot it at Skoodge.
The Invader didn't have any time to run.
He was paralyzed and knocked out, just like Tallest Purple.
"Zim deserves to die, you puny little weakling" said the General angrily.
That was the last thing Skoodge heard before passing out completely.
