《Invader Zim >> Not Just a Defect <<》Chapter 2: The Truth

Zim opened the door to his base and, turning around, slammed it shut angrily.
"Ohhh--WHY much Keef be so....ANNOYING!?" Yelled Zim angrily to himself.
"I don't KNOW. Maybe cause he LOOOVE you?" said Gir in his goofy robot voice. He was sitting on the sofa with a large bowl of popcorn that was spilling over. Zim could only assume he made three large bags and dumping them all in the small bowl.
He looked down at the floor and his suspicion was confirmed. There was, indeed, a trail of popcorn that had spilled onto the floor, leading from the kitchen, all the way to the sofa.
Zim glanced up at the TV and saw that Gir was watching a dramatic episode of Angry Monkey.
Zim turned and gave the SIR unit a death glare.
This didn't even phase the SIR unit at all.
"HA! Fool he is then! Why would I EVER love anyone? Irkens don't need 'love'. We are INCAPABLE of feeling any emotions. We're programed to whatever job we receive, and that's all" said Zim, taking off his black wig and contacts.
He placed them on the small table beside the sofa.
"I WUV you masta! Do you WUV me too? Do you? Do you? DO YOU? Do you? DO YOU? Dooo yooouuu? Doyou?" Asked Gir, smiling adorably.
Zim opened his mouth to reply back, but Gir interrupted him.
"DOOO YOOUUUU!?" Shouted Gir loudly.
Zim huffed in anger.
"No Gir, I-" started Zim, but was again interrupted when Gir started screaming.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! AH AH AH AH WAAAAAAAAAA" Screeched Gir, throwing a tantrum. He threw himself on the floor in front of Zim and started rolling around, screaming his head off as he punched the floor.
Startled and freaked out, Zim stepped back in shock.
"D-DID I SAY NO? EH HEHE...hehe...I-I meant YES! I DO love you Gir! You're like a....a.....a, uh, SON! to me..." said Zim, trailing off a he tried to think of what to say.
"YAAAAAAY! I WUV YOU TOO MASTA!!!" Shouted Gir happily, jumping off the floor and squeezing Zim in a super tight hug, making the poor Irken gasp for air.
He let go and hopped back up onto the sofa and just stared at the TV like nothing happened.
Zim sigh in exhaustion, slumping down on the sofa, grabbing a pillow and burying his face into the soft material.
The show that was playing on the TV suddenly got cut off by an incoming transmission.
"Sir, incoming transmission from--The Tallests--aboard the Massive" Said the computer in his annoyed robotic voice.
"The TALLESTS!" Screamed Zim, jumping off the sofa and running over to the TV to receive the transmission.

He made sure to dust off his uniform before answering the call.
"My Tallests! It is I, ZIIIIIM!!! Invader of Earth! What brings you to call me?" Asked Zim dramatically, smiling up at the screen.
The screen was all staticy at first, with only quick flashes of red and a hint of purple, but it then focused and flashed, managing to hone in on the Massive's signal.
There, standing in a large room that was almost completely burned and destroyed, were Irk's two leaders.
Tallest Red and Tallest Purple.
They both looked completely beat up, burned, half-eaten, and overall traumatized by what they had been forced to see and experience for almost an entire month.
Tallest Purple shook his head, being the first to recover from the horrifying experience they just went through.
"Are...are we back in our original reality?" He asked, looking around, confused and worried.
Tallest Red sigh in exasperation, looking almost defeated and relieved at the same time.
"I-....I think we're back!" He said, chuckling in victory a little.
Purple threw his arms in the air and whooped, happy to finally be back.
"My Tallests! What HAPPENED to you? I was so worried when you never answered my calls. You haven't picked up in almost a MONTH now! What gives?" Asked Zim, moving his face closer to the screen so he could see better.
"AHH!" screamed Purple in surprise, startled. He didn't even know Zim was on the screen until he had spoken.
"ZIM" said Red angrily, seething with anger.
"My Tallests! I am so glad you're ok! Did you like how I teleported Earth in your flight path? It was AMAZING, wasn't it? And it was aaaalll ME!" Said Zim proudly.
"Zim.....you....are the WORST Irken to EVER LIVE!" Yelled Red, shaking in anger, his eye twitching.
Purple seemed confused.
"You managed to teleport Earth directly in our flight path?" He asked, a little impressed, now that he thought about it.
"OF COURSE HE DID YOU IDIOT! WHO ELSE COULD HAVE DONE IT?" Yelled Red, lashing his anger towards Purple.
Purple yelped in surprise and flinched.
Red turned back to the screen and glared at the small Irken.
"Zim, you are no Invader. In fact, you're not even a functional Irken. You're PAK is defective and broken Zim. YOU, are a DEFECT. You're too crazy and insane. We didn't want to hurt your feelings because we didn't want to seem like jerks and embarrass you in front of everyone during the Great Assigning" said Red, seething with anger.
"We did?" Asked Purple, scratching his head in confusion.
Red just elbowed Purple in the stomach, glaring at him.

Purple doubled over in pain, clutching his stomach.
"OW! MY SQUIGGLY SQWOOCH! WHY WOULD YOU--?" Screamed Purple, clearly in pain.
Red ignored him and turned back to the Irken on screen.
"Zim, get it through your thick, dumb skull. We don't like you. Nobody on Irk likes you. You are a disgrace to our kind, and a failure as well. YOU are just a DEFECT. You were never MEANT to live. You were supposed to be stripped of your PAK LONG ago when you were first hatched, but that never happened because Tallest Miyuki had FAILED to do something about you. She could have had your PAK removed, but she didn't. She was weak and too kind to be a Tallest" said Red harshly, not even thinking anymore.
Purple gasped after recovering from the pain.
"Red-" started Purple, trying to calm down the red clad Tallest, but was silenced by a simple hand gesture.
"Zim, as a punishment that should have been given to you LONG ago, we are going to personally go to Earth and remove your PAK. You will be killed and exterminated from this universe, that way we don't have to deal with you and your annoying calls. Then, we're gonna destroy Earth, erasing every trace of you possible so we don't have to deal with you EVER AGAIN!!" Screamed Red.
Zim and Purple both gasped before the transmission was cut, leaving only a blank screen.
With the Tallests
"Red, you don't MEAN that....do you?" Asked Purple.
"Of course I do you idiot. What do you think we've been trying to do this entire time? We're trying to get rid of Zim so we don't have to deal with him anymore" said Red, glaring at Purple.
Purple seemed to shrink back.
"Yah, but we had fun making Zim seem like a fool by playing along..." trailed off Purple.
"So? Sure, it was all fun and games back then. But that Florpus Hole was the LAST straw. If Zim hadn't teleported Earth directly in front of our flight path, that Florpus Hole never would have opened in the first place. It's time to get serious and take matters into our own hands Purple. Zim must be killed, once and for all. He's been interfering with our mission long enough" said Red angrily, turning around and walking out of the room so he could assess the damage on the Massive.
Purple was left, standing there, staring at where Red had gone.
He never really thought about it, but when they said they were going to kill Zim many times before in the past, they never did.
Something would always happen, and Zim would remain alive.
It's like the universe didn't want Zim dead.
But why?
Now that Purple thought about it, having Zim around had always brightened his day. He and Red would always laugh and make fun of the small Irken.
He sort of doesn't want to kill Zim anymore.
He shook his head.
Why was he acting like this now?
He'd always hated Zim because he was always so annoying and wouldn't stop calling them all the time.
But then again, the small Irken was....adorable? In his own little way?
He was always trying to please them, show them how good he was. He was always so loyal too. In fact, he may actually be Irk's most loyal Irken towards the Tallests.
And what are they gonna do?
Kill him.
Purple sigh.
He can't believe he's saying this, but.....
....he didn't want Zim exterminated.
With Zim
Zim just stood there, staring at the blank screen.
The Tallests had survived the Florpus Hole!
But they were coming to kill him and destroy the Earth.
He looked down at his hands, shaking.
He didn't know what this new feeling was.
It was unlike anything he had felt before.
He felt something wet brimming his eyes, slipping down his cheeks.
Was he......crying?
He didn't know anymore.
Everything he had believed in had been a lie.
He was no Invader like he thought he was.
He was an idiot!
The Tallests never even reprogrammed him, now that he thought about it.
He's still a Food Service Drone.
Zim felt his entire body shake as he fell to his knees, clutching his head in his hands tightly as he sobbed.
"Why must I be so....idiotic?" He asked himself quietly.
"Masta?" Asked Gir, slipping off the sofa and landing on the floor silently.
He had been silent the entire time, only watching as the Tallests told Zim the entire truth.
"I-I'm....just a defect....I was never meant to be alive in the first place...." said Zim shakily.
Gir, sensing that his master was in distress, gasped and quickly dashed over, wrapping his arms around Zim in a tight and loving hug.
Zim looked down at the SIR unit, tears in his eyes.
"Gir..." said Zim, having the urge to lash out on the adorable robot and tell him that he was probably made entirely out of garbage, but didn't have the guts to tell him.
He felt a new wave of tears escape, hugging the SIR unit close.
He just needed some sort of comfort right now.

Mobius
Far in the future, humans have thoroughly colonized space through the use of floating colonies and artificially replicating the Earth whenever possible. Most of these endeavors have gone well, with humanity spreading across the universe like the seeds of plants floating in the wind. Yet still there lurks the great mistake, the endless station of Mobius, a megastructure which hasn't ceased its building in over a century. Dante, a man living in this megastructure, is tasked with the recording of stories told by criminals, particularly those who travel between strata. One day, a prisoner is captured claiming to be Captain Pluto, an infamous criminal thought to be fictitious by most scholars. Even more curious, he claims to hail all the way from Stratum 56, a location so far away from Dante's Stratum 999 that it would take lifetimes to traverse such a distance. Dante must discern whether or not the story is false or true, and the longer he lets Captain Pluto speak, the more difficult his task becomes. *****Average chapter length will be 10k words give or take. This isn't a very serious story for me. I'm writing this to blow off steam. Updates will happen infrequently because of this, and it will most likely be unpolished unless I begin to take it more seriously.
