《The Rite of Sanctuary》6.5) The fall of space station Des Horizon

Ixexi saw the best place ever when he dived to the lower realities. He had in fact followed some others down, since he just knew he would end up distracted by the oh so many interesting things down here if he came down on his own, and he was trying to do better.
The others had raced to the great big ball of a world as the wave of toxic drove across the open space between the already altered lifeless worlds it had hit on it's way in to the sun, but between it and the living world...
Where do they get such wonderful toys.
A little world. One that made it's own air, cleaned it own filth, and spun around to make it's own gravity. All put together with so many parts all working together. Like a performance.
And just filled to the brim with thinking, building, living beings.
Much more in this one mechanism then any single spot where the others were gathering them up down below. Besides, nothing worked down there, just places with or without life. A lot more without life then seemed healthy really.
But he had a place, a wonderful place that he could save. He, Ixexi. he would have such bragging rights.
The place was even self contained against the emptiness around it, so it could protect itself from the void. All Ixexi had to do was get it there.
It floated so lightly above the pull of the world below. Ixexi forgot weight and mass only seemed the same down here.
He pulled at the place and the place did not want to go, so he pulled again, and again with a tighter grip.
Finally it came along with him to the void, high up above where the Director was setting places all around a imaginary globe, but Ixexi could put his place up high above them all, up where all could see what he had done.

But as he let go of it. It became to come apart.
So many of the little clever creature came flying out. Into the void. With no protection.
Ixexi had to choose. Save the clever place, or the people who made it?
A place with no one to appreciate it was no place at all, just...stuff. But the people who made it, could make it again.
A easy choice. All he had to do was let the place fall apart and pluck away at each living being as they came into his sight. Pulling each free and wrapping them up in a twist of time, so that hovering up above a world as it was created didn't trouble the little beings little minds.
A world seemingly made of just dirt and water. How would the clever being made a new place?
There was still a lot of mass left from the place he had broken. A lot of mass the clever people had chosen because it was useful to them. It would do.
The Director spun off a version of itself as Inquisitor to berate him for slamming down the remains of the place onto the newly forming world hard enough for it to impact deep within a large otherwise unoccupied area. But even pointing that out didn't stop Inquisitor from asking such painful questions like. "What were you thinking?" and "Did you even have a plan?"
"Well no. I am Ixexi."
Inquisitor seemed to think that over and agree that was enough of a answer.
Ixexi looked down at the incredibly wide variety of beings all mixed up together, while Inquisitor sighed and began the work of placing the Hazaks Ixexi has saved down of the world below.
Neither noticed that the wave of toxin had touched the end of the space station just before Ixexi had pulled it into the void, and some of it had clung to it even as it changed the substance of what it had come into contact with. Or that it had ended up catching a ride down with the wreckage as it was flung down to the world below.

For that pool of toxin, it's upgrade made it able to gather together the parts it had began to alter, mundane and enchanted both, into into something for it work it's will on this new world.
But even if they had noticed, they both had more important concerns at the time.

Savage Hunters
Giant monsters roam the land Civilization is frozen in a savage age. For the beast slayer Alden, power and survival are one and the same. The ancient evil that once ravaged his village and murdered his ancestors has returned. At the same time, politics hurls Alden and his crew into gladiator pit battles for control of the throne. When Alden takes possession of a cursed sword promising untold power, the hunter is determined to save his people by slaying every giant monster standing between him and the throne. But the angry ghost trapped inside the blade has other ideas. Buckle up for the brutal LitRPG ride of a lifetime Savage Hunters is an alternate-world neolothic fantasy. Characters grow their powers with explicit stat blocks presented right in the text, including levels, attribute scores, and unlockable skill trees. Experience is accumulated by battling enormous monsters the size of buildings. Political intrigue and romance elements ramp up as the series progresses. I originally wrote this story after playing Monster Hunter with my niece. She was 12 at the time, already an avid reader, and wanted to read my other published books. I'm a licensed psychotherapist specializing in severe trauma so I tend toward darker fiction. I told her my usual books are too brutal for her but I'd write her something special. The result was this series, which has been praised by both teens and adults for its depth and universal appeal. It begins with an emphasis on cultural elements because I consulted with a trained anthropologist to craft this neolithic setting down to exacting social detail. After these opening chapters, it rapidly shifts to an action-packed adventure. The first 3 books are fully written as of November 2020, totalling approximately 69 chapters. The first book has been professionally edited already. The following two books require some editing which I'll do on a chapter-by-chapter basis as releases progress. I welcome reviews and comments. Writing is a passion, and reader engagement makes my labor all the sweeter.

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.
