《Interdimensional Resource Collector in a Fantasy World: (A LitRPG)》Chapter 5.5 - A Letter from Another Dimension

I hope the new world is treating you kindly, of course, hopefully it isn’t too peaceful. Though you should find a way to change that. However, do not over do it. It is not good for your conscious nor is it fair to the locals. We use them to help a cause not to indulge in hedonistic impulses.
Anyhow, I digress, and although I am tempted to drag this on, I know you wish to hear about your home. And I must say, since the last time I’ve been here twenty years ago nothing has changed. Neither the population nor the wealth of our nation. Neither the taste of the food nor the style of our clothes. The bread is as unappetizing as mud pancakes, and the clothes are without colours to save on ink. Yet I do still feel more at ease than when I lived in golden palaces and modern mansions. Although if it weren’t for my bruised and broken body, I would have come with you once again.
The war against the swarm which calls itself the Klada High Oligarch is still the same, with neither side having advanced, nor lost ground. However, each year more men and women are sent to the front, and the necessary supplies go with them as well. Our rations are the lowest I have seen them in my time. Say for the last days of the third rebellion more than three centuries ago. The spirit of the people reflects that as well.
Even though we cannot capitulate to an enemy which does not wish to communicate, the moral is low and radical beliefs are rife. Here on the third ship every hundredth room is a gathering spot for a new political group or terrorist cell. Famine has struck the forty-fourth till the fifth-third colony ship, and a mass migration to colonial plants has started.

However, I’ve heard that your home, the first colony ship, is doing slightly better; although, things aren’t pretty. That is why I must ask you to do your best and act swiftly in your mission. At this point in time, 40 percent of all weapons come from non-native sources, and the magical, and ethereal item are particularly in high demand revelling to be particularly effective in the jamming their neural network.
The magic research institute you so despise are working nonstop to convert whatever fireball wands or hypnosis rings, we retrievers find, into rays capable of melting planets, and hypnotic waves that can spread throughout an entire solar system. As such, even if it’s a ring which you do not believe to be worth anything please send it. I am afraid the government doesn’t wish to appear weak, so it doesn’t mention it in our mission requirements; however, these items are desperately needed. In fact, I was thinking of giving up on life for them to scavenge my brain implant, however, knowing I’m your only way of getting information on our home I will hold back on that front. After all my implants can only be good enough for one unknown person, which is, in my eyes less valuable than helping my only friend.
Anyhow I hope you are doing well. Although I haven’t painted a pretty picture, I believe that a lack of honesty regarding such matters would be too cruel.
I hope to see you when the war ends.
Your dear friend,
Alfonso Nelta.

A/N: Mature tag added for possiblity of violence, sex scenes (not entirely sure if I can write one though), etc.; harem tag removed but not exactly sure yet Hi guys, I thought I'd try to write a book (obviously easier said than done). Don't actually know where I'm headed with this but thought it would be fun to try to get as far as I can. There is no set schedule whatsoever. Constructive criticism greatly appreciated.
