Akinlawon Moyosore had no time, thinking back on it if he knew he'd told his dad to have a nice day on his way to work or kiss his mom goodbye as he left the house for the university of Lagos. All that was in hindsight now seeing as he was currently running for his life from a .....creature, perhaps it would be better to start at the beginning when the system hit.

INITIATING SYSTEM

These were the words Moyo saw as he blinked on the road, glowing right before his eyes. Looking around in confusion to notice he was not the only one to see such a message, for everyone on the road had paused, muttering to themselves in confusion, and then a loud gong noise broke through the air, reverberating as Moyo winced. Some....compulsion made him look up,

Made everyone look up,

And right in the sky was a...glowing man, for words could not describe the brightness or beauty that shone from the being. Its glowing gold eyes gleamed in the morning sun, smiling down at them, not like a benefactor,

But as a being looking down at ants beneath its feet,

Moyo suppressed a chill that crawled through his spine,

"Hear me, humans of planet earth! Rejoice!, For the supreme beings have chosen your universe to be brought into the archailect!" It started,

Archailect?, Supreme beings? What the fuck was going on here?!,

It continued, its chilling smile on its face,

"As of this moment your world has been added into the collective, and as such, it has been given one month of immunity where other races can't descend into your world!. Your world is no longer yours, and even now your leaders gather their powers against my fellow representatives speaking to their people around your planet....futile!" It said chuckling as a loud boom shook the ground,

"Your weapons will no longer function, the rules of your universe are warping and are currently unstable, your world is being merged with the governing energy of the archailect known as aether. During this month, the creatures of the abyss will overrun your world, you will be allowed to prove your worth before the supreme beings!, Struggle!, Adapt!, Show us the willpower of the people of the earth!" It finished as the being grew brighter and flashed away.

The street was quiet, and then all hell broke lose, panicking on the streets of Lagos as everyone ran Helter-skelter, another gong sounded as Moyo began running back home,

WORLD REBOOT IN 5 SECONDS

Moyo could feel the sweat running down his face as he ran home at full speed,

He had no idea what was going on, but he had to find his parents, no, he prayed they were home also,

Panting as he fought his way through the madness on the streets, taking a blow from someone's elbow as he struggles past the man, blood bursting out in his mouth as he took the pain and pushed on,

He tore into his street, seeing his house looming in front of him, his mom waving frantically at him,

He was mere steps from his door his mom opening it with a smile on her face,

REBOOT!

Moyo was blown away by a concussive wave that came out of nowhere, leveling the house with his parents in it, wooden splinters from the house with metal tore through his body, his eyes, his mouth, and all he could feel at that moment was pain,

Pure, agonizing pain,

His brain attempted to shut down from the sensory overload. At that moment, that frozen moment in time, the only thought going through his head was him not wanting to die, like a replaying loop in his mind it played over and over as his body slammed to the ground in another agonizing wave of pain,

A ding in his mind eye flashed before him as he was on the verge of passing out

Congratulations!, You've unlocked skill son of agony!

With that Moyo passed out, his brain unable to function collapsed on itself, and in a world far far away, at the edge of the archailect where the collective fought off the looming invasion, a being of power perked up,

"Eh?, Interesting...." It said and with a flick of his fingers made a decision that would haunt Moyo for the rest of his new life...
