《Journey to Another World.... because of my Neighbour》Chapter 12: Dungeon

After talking for some time, first about food from the south. Well, I just told him about Indian cuisine. I was hoping the South in this world was where someplace like India was. After all, I found out that most of the spices came from, tea as well. Probably the reason why these things were more expensive.
After that, the Marquis started talking about the Makkara Kingdom and Dominan Empire. Dominan Empire was an ancient Empire with a rich history. While It started as conquering all lands. The last two emperors focused most of their efforts on Demonic Kingdoms and Empires towards the north. The Empire is completely human and has a policy that to talk about peace, a Kingdom must be all human. This was the reason why the Makkara Kingdom banned all other races as well.
Usually, Humans and Demons have been hostile for ages. So most Human Kingdom's supported the Empire. However that is only against the Demons, most Kingdoms still had friendly relations with other races.
A few rivalries were extremely old.
Humans and Demons, Elves and Dwarfs, Beastmen and Mystic Beasts.
I had already read about this so I didn't seem completely dumb about it. However, all the information about Dominan Empire was new to me. While the Makkara Kingdom and Dominan Empire were not fighting directly, a lot of skirmishes happened all year round.
Usually, Adventures Guild does not accept any quests regarding wars. However since there was no war between the Makkara Kingdom and Dominan Empire, just soldiers would pose as Bandits and attack each other. Thus in this case Adventures Guild accepted the quest for Bandit Extermination.
Around the time of lunch, Flora also came home. And for the first time, there was no cold aura around her. She looked carefree and warm instead. Maybe because it was her home. She turned out to be the Guild Master of the Runburg Guild. After talking some more I found out a few more things about Flora.
"So you're thinking of going to the Dungeon?" She asked. Since I had come here, I was definitely going to go to the Dungeon.
"Yeah, I'm thinking of going later today."
"Oh no, you should go tomorrow before dawn. You see It'll take a lot of time there. A day is a must. And you should be prepared. I would suggest going with a party but if you still want to go alone. Prepare yourself thoroughly. From the Map of the starting floors to camping gear. You should have everything." She warmly suggested. At this point, she did sound like a friend. But I would definitely not get any ideas about it. After all, this was the first time we were actually having a conversation that wasn't about work.
"Yeah, I've already prepared for most things except the map. I'll go buy some before going. How big is a floor anyway?"
"It depends on the floor. The higher the floor the larger it is. But even the first floor without a map can easily take a whole day to explore. If you're taking a map and just want to skim through them, you should be able to reach up to the 3rd floor. You wouldn't be able to tell time there without any skill so you should take a Rune Clock with you. Coming back can be harder than going in because you'll be exhausted. So if you start to get tired, come back immediately. There's no safe room until the 5th floor so keep that in mind as well."

We talked as we had lunch. The food for nobles was extremely exquisite. There were all kinds of food. I hadn't seen many sweets in this world. But here there were plenty. So I asked "I haven't seen many sweets around here. Is it usually like this?"
I had a sweet tooth and loved sweets. However, in this world sweets were very expensive and not worth it. Until now and I found the reason why.
"Oh yes, since sugar comes from the south, sweets must be common there. What an amazing place" Flora replied "You see, transporting sugar is quite a headache. Still, it's needed in high quantity because all the nobles eat sweets. While spices don't come in this much quantity so it's easier. Thus there are only big merchants who get their hand in sugar. And it's only sold to nobles at a high price. That's why you don't see much sweets here, even if you see they're made from Honey or fruits."
At the lunch table, there were only three people. I found that Flora's mother died 8 years ago, though I did not know the reason. As for other family members. The Marquis had 4 concubines and 6 other children but they didn't have lunch with us.
After lunch, I was led back from the noble district back to the outer district. Since I had nothing much to do I paid my visit to the Magic Guild.
As an E-Ranked member, I was provided with a tour. However, after scanning my guild card. They said I have a message. It was from Lady Guala.
"Hello, You should at least notify me before moving out. Anyway, I had a favor to ask of you. I thought you'd be in the town for a while so didn't say before. But I would like you to take an Apprentice, you've already met my granddaughter, Tulip. While I would have taken her as my Apprentice if I was young and going around the world. I can't do that now can I?
After seeing you perform Space Magic and being so good at deciphering ancient documents, I knew you'd be perfect to take her as an Apprentice. Don't worry about how you'll teach her. The skill Apprentice Training helps with that a lot so even if you know nothing about teaching you'd still be able to do it. Now then good luck on your journey and wait for Tulip in Runburg for 3 days. She should be there at the Magic Guild. "
Well, it didn't seem like a favor and more like an order. She had also sent Tulip here as well. I'll just ask Tulip more about it. After spending some time in Magic Guild I went back to my inn and had some sleep. I had bought a Rune clock and maps of the dungeon's first 5 floors already. The Rune Clock also had an alarm function. So the next day I woke up at 4 AM and got ready to leave before dawn. There was a carriage system that cost 1 copper and left every 15 minutes in the morning. So I was able to reach the dungeon pretty early. Just as the sun was peeking through the mountains.

Before the Dungeon was a line and the guards were checking everyone's ID. Only people from Adventures Guild, Dungeon Explorers Guild, Monster Hunter Guild, and Mercenaries Guild were allowed to enter.
At the entrance, you could directly transfer yourself to any floor that is divided by 5. Specifically in their safe rooms. And you can come back from the safe room as well. I just entered the first floor.
It was like a neat tunnel. There was no light source except magic stones coming out of walls. These stones can not be harvested as I had read. They were actually quite valuable stones. Other than emitting light, they could actually be used as fuel for Magic Items. Actually, that was the main use for them.
While the light was quite dim, I could still see decently. However, my smelling sense was haywire because of the rotting smell. As I moved forward it was coming from a group of skeletons. I knew skeletons were weak to fire but because this was underground. I was hesitant to use fire magic and thus used Wave and easily destroyed them.
{Killed 5 Level 1 Lesser Skeleton: 500Exp (50Exp × 10) acquired}
This was really not worth it. I was at level 19 and needed 40,000Exp to reach level 20. I already had 32,000Exp so only needed 8,000 but this was too less Exp. So I started moving towards the next floor using the map.
I encountered a lot of Lesser Skeletons and Lesser Zombies but nothing worth mentioning. There was a boss room before the stairs.
{Killed a Level 1 Skeleton: 200Exp(20Exp × 10) acquired}
The boss was a joke. I didn't even use magic and just punched him to death. My strength stat at level 19 was 1482 due to the skill Enhanced Physical Strength (Extreme) so I could easily fight hand to hand as well. A 10 in strength was a normal person from the earth. Now think how powerful 1482 would be. Yeah, recently I found out I could easily lift a carriage with one hand. Of course, the carriage was full of people.
The whole second floor was filled with beast-type Lesson Skeletons and Lesser Zombies. All level 2, before noon I was already on the third floor. Monster hunting aside, just walking all this distance was what was boring me. And I still needed 6,000 Exp to reach Level 20. The 3rd floor was full of Lesser Skeletons Warriors and Lesser Zombies Warriors. The only difference between a warrior and a non-warrior was their rusty swords. I wasn't earning much money either. Other than the boss dropping dark bones I had only found a few mobs dropping rusty bones. So I just went ahead and cleared the 3rd floor as well. It was getting late and I remembered what Flora said so I didn't go further. Until I had a thought, how will I go further if I don't go now? I won't be transferred to the 3rd floor when I come back. Since I have to clear all 5 floors together at least once. Why not just do it today, I wasn't in the mood to do all of this again tomorrow. So I just went to the fourth floor. Another easy one. The 4th floor was filled with Level 4 Clawed Lesser Skeletons and Clawed Lesser Zombies. While the boss Clawed Zombie was a little hard since I was tired from walking all the time but it wasn't bad. It was already night but there wasn't any safe place here so I just moved on. 5th floor was full of Lesser Ghosts. No physical attacks. I didn't have much Mana left and hadn't bought any Mana potions since I've got a large Mana pool and usually don't require it. Now I knew why Flora warmed me so much. Exhausting myself had done this to me. If I had just waited after clearing every floor boss. Since in the Boss room the boss won't reappear until an hour is passed. I could have had some rest. I could still go back but I had already run midway to the fifth floor. Now I was just running from ghosts while my Mana recovers. I could still fight if ghosts didn't have complete immunity to Physical attacks. Their attacks weren't powerful enough to damage me much but when constantly taking them on my HP was declining. Then I remembered something and activated the skill Dominance and all the ghosts left me alone.
I now found out what battle experience means, in this whole battle if I had enough experience I would have remembered this skill a lot earlier and wouldn't be in this state.
After recovering my Mana I hunted down the ghosts. Not much though since I was tired of walking.
{Killed a Level 5 Ghost: 750Exp(75Exp×10) acquired.}
After defeating the boss I reached the safe room and got out there. It was about 6 in the morning when I came back. After getting back to my Inn, I slept like a log.

Lifestones of Lebreima
Lottica and Nick probably could have dealt with the sudden death of their parents. They probably really could have coped. IF. IF they hadn't had to deal with foreign grandparents who wanted to whisk them off to Lebreima, a small Old World country thousands of miles away from their friends and neighbors. IF they weren't being pursued by a sinister figure in a cape (a cape of all things!) who may have killed their parents. IF, in the ruins of their house, Lottica and Nick hadn't found what their dad had hidden there, along with secrets that were about to change the universe as they knew it. IF (and this deserves the all caps) THEIR DEAD PARENTS HAD JUST STAYED DEAD.
8 260Golem Armor: Building a Mech In Fantasy World.
He died of old age, surrounded by not people but machines built by his own hands. Join him as he reawakens in a fantasy world, once again, trying his best to reach his dream. A different person molded by his new surrounding, Adrin had to adapt to survive. The journey towards it would be slow as he had to start from the bottom and build everything from scratch. He had to adapt to using unfamiliar tools to recreate the things he had built, or using science to get ahead. The world, however, wouldn’t open a path for him to travel. Monsters big and small, people kind and cruel would stand in his way whether he liked it or not. Author’s note: English is not my first language. For young adults (light adult content, not romance focused). A remake/revamp of an original story. It will take a while before pieces are put together.
8 76The Supernormal
In a world where fantasy has become everyday, one man stands against absurdity. The local Tower stomps through the streets. Any hedge could contain a witch. Walls regularly crumble, though none more often than the fourth. In the magical city of Blackpool, all ridiculousness is possible, and it takes everything for Jack Of All Trades to survive. Badly, at that. Perpetually late with his rent, he'll take up arms for any paying customer in order to fulfill his quest. His obstacles include polka-loving ghosts, card-game playing vampires, and the most vicious monsters of all: copyright lawyers. When he's joined by an arrogant magus and an insecure vampire, his life gets even more complicated, but no matter what kind of infuriating choose-your-own-adventure he finds himself on, one constant remains—his rent is due at the end of the month. On second thoughts, maybe he should stay in bed. The Supernormal isn't your average web-novel. It's an urban fantasy parody that saunters through a world full of the absurd, delighting in poking fun at popular media, widely-accepted ideas, and often itself. Story arcs only loosely connect through the characters, who are themselves slowly fleshed out as the story continues. Think of Discworld meets The Dresden Files meets Gintama. This novel won't be for everyone, but if it is for you, you're in for a hell of a ride.
