《Colonial History》The Conquest and Subsequent Colonization of Tir-Torzor

Before their arrival, the Anuh-Kaj wanted to expand the Eas-Enerang Apiary to include another planet that would be perfect for establishing their first off-world settlement. One with acidic oceans, massive violent storms, sweltering weather patterns, and vast tracts of barren land; just like home, but without a species of bimillennial apex predators. They scanned space for such a planet, until they detected one with rising amounts of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which they named Tir-Torzor. Records showed that it produced some of these gases naturally, but much of the gases were being produced by a form of intelligence at a gradually increasing and unbalanced rate. The scientists estimated that the inhabitants would inevitably render themselves extinct by the ensuing effects of their self-produced changes in climate, leaving behind the planet in an ideal condition for colonization. With this on mind, the Apiary constructed and launched a teleportation outpost to the surface of Tir-Torzor.

Many years later, the teleportation outpost arrived on Tir-Torzor, but scans of the surface by A.I. drones relayed back disappointing information. The planet was not fully terraformed to the Anuh-Kaj’s liking, with data showing the rate of progress had slowed down drastically. There were still ample greenhouse gases left in the atmosphere to continue altering the climate, but it would take longer to reach the conditions they wanted. Worse for the Apiary, was data showing a possibility that the climate could someday begin reverting to a more stable and healthy unideal state.

If they hoped to speed terraforming back to an optimal rate, the Apiary had to find the intelligence responsible for the enormous greenhouse gas output and find out how to revive the process. Humans were found to be that intelligence, but they had regressed into scattered and relatively more primitive societies from over thirty-six [Tir-Torzor] years of continual global population decrease, due to various factors such as extreme weather, the lack of proper and readily available medications, starvation, and other humans. The most prominent cause were the raids by the Minare, which alone had abducted or killed off one-third of the human population on the planet within twenty-five years. To avoid garnering attention from minare or human raiders, these new societies formed behaviors to reduce their observable presence, in turn reducing their carbon footprint, resulting in little to no greenhouse gas production. It was concluded by the Apiary scientists that to put terraforming back on track, humans would have to feel adequately secure to revert to old behaviors, and to do that required getting rid of the Minare.

For the next five months on the planet, the Apiary’s A.I. drones were given two different assignments: To observe activities of the Minare, and to go to selected areas and negotiate with certain human societies to form a united force for the purpose of driving away the Minare.

Found archived at the Memory Trace Libraries of Eas-Enerang, this negotiations summary report sent to the teleportation outpost’s central A.I., before the information then being relayed back to its planet of origin:

Summary Report of Negotiations with Human Inhabitants of Tir-Torzor 1,000 of 3,500 A.I. Units dispatched to 10,000 human population areas 1 Unit per 10 area negotiations 50 human population areas 1000 178 human population areas 500 297 human population areas 100 3939 human population areas 50 2745 human population areas 10 2249 human population areas 5 542 human population areas <5 928 of 1,000 A.I. Units dispatched returned to outpost Missing units reported damage before going offline 17 units did not reach human population areas 39 units did reach human population areas 16 units did not return after visiting human population areas Out of 928 A.I. Units 865 successfully negotiated agreement for human participation against minare Estimating the arrival of 749,110 fighting units out of the original projected acquirement of 800,264 fighting units Proceed further with extreme caution Eavesdrop programing detected hostile ulterior from 73% of negotiated parties 40% of 73% hostile ulterior against the Apiary 33% of 73% hostile ulterior against other humans 27% of 73% hostile ulterior against the Apiary and other humans

Given this data, the Apiary moved forward with retrofitting the older weapons they kept stored in the armories and continued with another step in their plans.
