《Colonial History》AUER Club Ends

Around the time when the team met their human contact on the other side of the burned forest, ten of the twelve Seekers of Nephiliham chairpersons - along with some family, several of their personal assistants and security - were on their way to depart for Irrdnis. Their convoy was stopped by a military blockade, which forced everyone out of the vehicles at gunpoint and apprehended them all. Before they exited their vehicles to surrender, someone among the group managed to send out a mass message alert to all other Seekers and their accomplices, including AUER Club.

The next excerpt from Memoirs of a UFO Hunter delineates the panic-stricken reactions of the club’s members:

Darla paced back and forth as she tried Mike’s number again, Calvin rushed to each computer to wipe their hard drives clean, and Randy and I collected as many files as we could grab, putting the paper shredders through overtime. As we shredded, I found myself frantically repeating, “We’ve gotta get outta here,” like it was my mantra. Our vehicles were packed up with everything we could take on short notice after receiving the alert. Spending time at the clubhouse to destroy all records of our business, felt like we were near the exit of a trash compactor and standing still as the walls continued to close in.

“Shut up and focus on shredding!” Randy shouted at me, clearly nervous being there too.

“Any luck, Darla?” Calvin asked.

“I can’t get Mike,” Darla said. “I bet he’s already in the wind.”

“Am I the only one who feels that Mike has something to do with the council’s arrest?” Calvin asked.

“Hold on now, he may have run off, but he’s not the type who would do something like what you’re insinuating. He, out of all of us, knew how much some of the Seekers still hated us. It wouldn’t take much for them to rat us out if placed in a stressful situation.”

“Wanna bet on it? Ever since we officially partnered with the Seekers, he’s become gradually more distant. Who knows what he’d be willing to do now to save his own skin?”

Then Randy piped up and said to Darla, “Why would you care what happened to us next? You’re abandoning the club yourself anyway.”

Darla stopped pacing and turned to Randy. “You got a problem, Randy?” She said ready for confrontation.

“Yeah,” Randy said as he stopped shredding and started walking towards her, “I do!”

“Come out and say it then!”

“Okay, fine!” He said as they both stood only a couple feet away, staring down each other, “It’s screwed up how you just came out last night at the party to suddenly drop on us that you’re leaving for the stars and not coming back!”

“I’ve been saying it! If this was a problem to you, you should’ve spoken up the first few dozen times I even mentioned it!”

“I thought you were talking in terms of hypothetical examples, not your actual statements of intent.”

“Well, sorry I didn’t make it all more obvious for you,” Darla snarled. “Why the hell do you have such a hare up your ass about this? You were celebrating with the rest of us last night.”

“We provided a mutual benefit between the Minare and humankind! We succeeded in a goal, which is part of our club’s larger vision!”

“I’m not part of humankind to you?”

“That ain’t what I’m saying. The club is meant to help all of humanity, not just one small segment of it. You’re leaving when things are finally getting good, and we need you.”

“My life does not revolve around this club! It’s my life, it belongs to me and me only! I did my part, and now it’s time for me to move on. If you want to get upset with someone, why don’t you get upset with Calvin? He’s the one who pitched the idea of an immigration program with the cult to begin with.”

Calvin stops working on the computers and says to Darla, “Now don’t throw me under the bus! We had to get our foot in the door, remember?”

“She’s right in a way!” Randy said to Calvin. “Instead of the club being its own thing, working together with other groups to help humanity as a whole, you turned us into a business consulting firm and travel agency for a cult!”

Calvin angrily storms over to Randy saying, “You mother fucking, sanctimonious hypocrite! Oh, you’re so concerned about keeping the group’s original vision and integrity, huh? You had no problem profiting and spending on the good life.”

“It ain’t none of your concern how I live my life!” yelled Randy.

“Oh, but it is when it comes to me, right?” Darla angerly asked Randy.

Bam! There it was. Argument storm brewing in the middle of an event that can destroy our lives if we didn’t cover our tracks well. We didn’t have time for this. I tried to focus on the shredding, trying to stay out of the argument and trying to save our asses, hoping they don’t drag me into that mess somehow. Sure enough, in 3, 2, 1…

“Hey, Bruno!” they all called out to me in near perfect unison.

“Nope!” I succinctly stated as I threw my hands up.

I hastily walked out of the clubhouse and to my car. As I entered my car, I viewed the three of them trying to chase me down, still arguing and calling my name. They continued as they rapped on the roof and glass of my vehicle, as I pulled into the street. I drove too fast for them to catch up, leaving them behind. I’ve had it.
