《The Due》Big Long Hiatus/Drop
Advertisement
First off, I want to say that I'm not going to completely drop this story. I'm a big proponent of done is better than good, but I can also tell that the direction I'm taking the story is diverging from the initial idea that I had for it.
I spent a lot of last week just trying to figure out what I wanted to do with The Due, because when I sat down to write I kept finding myself stuck in corners. Words would get on a page but the idea I had kept changing.
I had wanted to make this more of a management type story with Walter's choices making big impacts on the world. I had also wanted to explore the idea of what godhood is.
However, I've found that things are leaning too far into the exploration side and less about everything else. That's fine and all, but it's not what I initially wanted.
So until I can plan out a much better plotline that incorporates everything I'm going to drop this for a bit while I think on it.
In the meantime, there's another story idea that keeps bouncing around in my head. One with a much simpler premise as well. I plan on releasing that next Monday at the beginning of the month of August. This is a much more generic LitRPG as well so if that doesn't interest I apologize.
Here's the teaser blurb if you're interested!
Okay everyone out there reading this, listen up! Tess is a badass. Trust me, I would know. I watched her take on a mountain lion! A mountain lion! Not to mention all the mountain hikes, wilderness treks, and survival camps she's done.
And because this woman is straight-up awesome, I'm not about to let some silly thing like a landslide end her early career in badassery.

That's why I, the grand god of all interesting things, am whisking her away to a new world! One with cultivators, mages, shamans, and a whole slew of other things!
Of course, I can't just leave her stranded alone with nothing to help her! There's all sorts of dangerous things in this world! Dragons and Phoenixes and Dungeons. (Oh my!) So I've set her up with the best system in the entire universe. (Well, if not the best, at least the most interesting!)
And to make sure everyone understands just how great she is, I'm making sure to record everything going on!
Enjoy!
(For anyone needing a bit more clarification, this story's system is a GACHA system. Tess will roll for powers of varying rarity, and the powers given will be random. Every month I will put up a place for people to enter powers, which will join the pool of already listed powers. If there's a power you really want to see Tess have, joining my Patreon will let you weekly add more powers to the pool or the same power multiple times. As with all random systems, powers are rated from 1 to 5 stars with increasing rarity. It's much easier to see your power appear as a lower star!)

GLADIUS // Eret X Reader
PHANTASM SERIES BOOK 4---Gladius, (noun): (in ancient Rome) a short sword.---Eret perked up as soon as you and Simon walked into the room, a wide and welcoming smile coming onto his face. He was softer looking than his father had been, but you could still see some of the similar traits. He had a head of thick dark curls, and the same sharp jaw that his father had had. He wasn't as bulky though - he was tall and thin - and his face was a lot more open. What separated him most from his father's likeness though was the colorful cape, and the large mirrored glasses he wore - swirling with colors reflected from the room. He stood from his seat when Maven let the doors swing shut behind her, that wide smile still on his face. "You must be the embassy.""And you must be King Eret." You said, stooping into a bow. "Oh, there's no need for that." Eret said as you rose from your bow. He stepped down from the dias where his throne sat - colorful cape trailing behind him - and came to stand in front of you, taking your hand instead. "I'm not really one for formalities." He grinned, shaking your hand. His palm was warm against yours, and you could feel some slight callouses - most likely from practicing his sword work.
