《You have levelled up!》
《You have levelled up!》
《You have levelled up!》
《Used unique skill: 『What’s yours is mine Lvl. 1』!》
《Skill proficiency reached. Unique skill: 『What’s yours is mine Lvl. 1』 has become 『What’s yours is mine Lvl. 2』》
[Kurushimi: Hoh? What’s yours is mine levelled up? Let’s check the description then…]
Kurushimi lazily opened the description for her ‘What’s yours is mine’. She wasn’t really expecting much as she had been disappointed previously after not seeing any change in ‘Fangs’.
《『What’s yours is mine Lvl. 2』: Sucking the blood of a creature you killed allows you to steal a very small percentage of its stats. Additionally, there is an incredibly low chance to steal a random skill.》
As Kurushimi expected, there was no noticeable change in the percentage stat-stealing. But unexpectedly, an entirely new feature was added to the skill. Kurushimi instantly woke up upon seeing the new feature.
[Kurushimi: I can steal skills?! Does that mean I could get that camouflage skill or something?]
Kurushimi looked at the pullumskāl’s body which was lying on the ground still. That camouflage skill was a real pain in the ass to deal with and she almost died to it. But if she herself were able to get it… That would be incredibly broken!
With that in mind, Kurushimi eagerly awaited the stat and possible skill return system message.
《...》
《Gained +5 HP, +5 STR, +5 END, +7 SP, +7 AGI, +5 MP!》
《...》
A high stat yield, unbecoming of the previous highest stat yield. It was certainly something to be happy about… But something was missing! Kurushimi waited a few more seconds. But, no other system messages appeared.
Kurushimi sighed.
[Kurushimi: I suppose it did say it was an incredibly low chance to steal a skill. But that’s so disappointing! That would have been so good to have!]
Kurushimi hit the ground in her grievance. After taking a few seconds, Kurushimi went back to her original task at hand. Food.

-Speaking of food and taste…
Kurushimi licked her lips, swallowing the last bit of blood that had been spilt on her bottom lip. Kurushimi had only been exposed to the rancid-tasting canisfang blood and only had bad impressions on the taste of blood altogether.
But after she had tasted the blood of the pullumskāl, she found the taste to have been… remarkably good! Kurushimi was incredibly surprised by the delicious taste of the pullumskāl’s blood. To Kurushimi, the flavour was somewhat similar to cherry flavour. And it was very sweet, a pleasant sweet.
Kurushimi looked back to the pullumskāl. Its severely lacerated body was covered in blood which made her begin to salivate.
-A bit more…
After making up her mind, Kurushimi jumped to drink more of its blood. It simply tasted too good, the taste had put her into a state of ecstasy.
After a moment, Kurushimi regained herself and stopped. She was slightly embarrassed by her momentary loss of control. She had now seen that blood could be incredibly addictive.
[Kurushimi: I’ll have to be careful with that in the future… Anyway, now onto the meat!]
Finally, Kurushimi was back to the original purpose of the hunt. To gain food, namely meat, and cook said meat. She would finally be able to actually eat something for the first time since coming to this world. First, she would need to start a fire and then…
But, on that note…
[Kurushimi: How… Do I start a fire exactly?]
Kurushimi didn’t actually know how to start a fire.
[Kurushimi: There are no electrical appliances here and I don’t have any skills to start one… And fire magic wasn’t among the list of available skills…]
Kurushimi was deep in thought as to how she could start her fire. She slowly looked at the pullumskāl once more, seeing its body lying there. Raw meat doesn’t take long to expire so…
[Kurushimi: In the end, I’m gonna have to do it that way huh?]
. . .
Currently, Kurushimi was standing over a pile of dry grass and branches she had collected from around the area. This was what she was going to use as her fuel to allow her fire to burn. With that, fuel and oxygen were naturally ticked off of the list for what she needed to start a fire.

Finally, she needed a heat source. The hardest part but necessary to complete the triangle. She didn’t want to resort to it, but Kurushimi decided to use one of the most well-known techniques of fire-starting in the wild. The act of the rubbing two sticks together.
Through the power of friction, Kurushimi would get her fire going! So, using the best sticks she could find to act as spindle and board, she did her best to carve the sticks in the way that one survival video online she watched a few years back had taught her.
While carving the sticks, she had also discovered something she previously didn’t know. With the need of something to carve them, she had used Blood magic. But, on a whim, she had tried using it on the pullumskāl’s blood as she didn’t want to cut herself.
And to her surprise… It worked. She was actually able to use blood other than her own with Blood magic. Kurushimi felt a little dumb becuase she hadn’t thought of that at all previously when it should be fairly simple reasoning. But with new information and a convenient new way to use her signature Blood magic, Kurushimi was happy.
Although, Kurushimi's happy mood was slowly lost over the painfully long time it took for her to start the fire, using the spindle and board. When she had almost gotten it to light, the spindle had slipped, making her lose all her progress. But she was able to successfully light it in the end.
With her fire, she lit the bundle of dry branches and grass alight. As the fire got stronger, she slowly added bigger pieces of wood to the fire. Making a more intense fire.
With rocks that she had placed around the fire, she balanced a flat slab on top of them and created a platform to cook the meat on.
And finally, she used Blood magic and used the pullumskāl’s own blood to cut it apart and take a few chunks of meat from it. She placed them on top of the slab and left them to cook.
. . .
After some time had passed, where Kurushimi had been idly sitting about and watching out for any approaching monsters or creatures, the meat looked done.
Kurushimi picked up a piece of it and bit down. Her sharp fangs teared into the tough meat and ripped a bit of it off. Some chewing and a swallow later, Kurushimi had tears welling up in her eyes.
[Kurushimi: It tastes sho good!]
Kurushimi talked as she chewed on more, making her words sound a bit off. Though, she was alone except for Voice-san and she couldn’t care less.
Though in reality, the meat of the pullumskāl didn’t taste that good and with no seasonings or anything was rather bland. But to Kurushimi, who hadn’t eaten in a long while, it tasted like a 5 star chef had personally served her their masterpiece.
It didn’t take long for Kurushimi to finish the majority of the meat she had taken from the pullumskāl. It was possible to have taken more meat from the pullumskāl but naturally Kurushimi had zero clue how to skin an animal and had wasted a lot of meat in doing so.
[Voice-san: Aren’t you supposed to be in a life-threatening scenario? Why are you so care-free?]
[Kurushimi: ...Why do you sound disappointed? You do enjoy me suffering after all, don’t you?!]
[Voice-san: You’re imagining things.]
Voice-san could only sigh at Kurushimi’s behaviour. She could remember the state of the crying girl on her first and second runs, but on only the third run she was already like this. Voice-san began to wonder if Kurushimi was just an oddball or had potentially gone insane.
