Ben came back with the new affinity testing orb.
As soon it got in the room it emitted a loud screeching sound.
Ben dropped the orb and covered his ears, along with everyone else in the room.
The orb landed on the ground and began to roll away from Gary.
Once it made it to the door the old creepy elder, now mayor, picked it up silencing its screeching.
"Hmm" hmmed the mayor.
"Mayor Wilson!" said the man saluting. The guards saluted as well.
It's a good thing the man said the creepy old elder's name, as Gary never bothered remembering it. Gary belatedly saluted the mayor.
The mayor Wilson glared at Gary, and slowly walked towards him with the orb in his hand.
The orb made no movement, or noise.
As soon as the mayor pressed the onto Gary's skin it disintegrated into dust.
"Interesting." exclaimed the creepy old mayor.
The mayor looked at Gary like he was some sort of rare animal, or expensive jewel.
"Gary was it? How do you feel about performing a little experiment for me, and walking out of here with free mana stones." declared the creepy old Mayor.
Ben, and the other guard flanked Gary.
"Ah ha ha, sure"says Gary.
Gary was led into an underground chamber.
It was a large circular room. In the center, a pearl floated over a pedestal. The pedestal was covered by a blue shimmering runic barrier.
"Touch it." Ordered the creepy old man.
Gary walked up it, and felt the strict and orderly mana turn wild and aggressive. As his hand reached for the barrier, the chamber started to shake violently.
A warbling sound could be heard.
What? Yes, like warble warble you know? Stop interrupting.
Everything was a blurr. Gary couldn't tell up from down. He looked somewhere and saw a massive pair of eyes radiating desire.

"Divine Mercies! What the fuck is that?" Screamed the beige dot in its mind.
Reality shifted back into place.
Gary found himself lying on the ground charred, and toasty.
The dot had once again saved Gary's little life.
The dot was not happy. It was hoping to lie low on Gary long enough to reform its body. To do this it needed Gary's body, and soul, as a catalyst. So of course it had to keep Gary safe. Unfortunately Gary was remarkably adept at dying horrible deaths, and gathering the attention of abominations. The dot wasn't sure if it could survive another body transfer. It had already been lucky enough to find someone as flimsy, and weak-willed as Gary once.

Sometimes, however, they're home to a family of badgers and an assortment of other strange creatures. Sometimes their core has absolutely no idea what they're doing and is really just trying their best, so can you all please stop judging them? It started out as a complete mistake and now they're just in way too deep to turn their back on the whole badger thing!
8 97Sinner's & Redeemers
This is a story about Multiple people within a broken city. Seeing a Dead person with their organs harvested in the alleyways or streets is a common occurrence. This is all normal in people’s lives. Most live boring lives sitting on a chair in an office all day. But, some people endanger their lives by working as a “Redeemer.” These “Redeemers” are similar to mercenary's in a way. They are willing to do anything as long as the pay is good. Most “Redeemers” also inhabit special powers. No one knows where the powers come from. Some say they were gained, born with, or earned. Either way, It doesn't matter. What matters is the job at hand that gets finished.
8 221The Immutable Bulwark

8 219Duality of a Soul
In the land of magic and demons, knights and forgotten ancient technologies. What would you do if you were to wake up one day amidst all of this without your memories? Will you do everything you can to get them back to be who you were, or leave the past behind and begin anew? Follow along with our main character as he struggles to establish his new identity while the shadows of his past threaten to consume him. To be a detested hero or celebrated villain? Only time will tell. Author’s Note: Heavily influenced by fantasy goodness far and wide, I hope to make it somewhat original with a sense of familiarity to you. The overall story is pieced together through the perspective of the characters presented, first + third person narrative styles because I enjoy reading novels with similar storytelling. Please feel free to provide any comments and constructive criticisms for me because I love to read what you think so I can continue to improve on my imperfections and make the story better. Cheers!

8 97The Cracks in the Labyrinth
Evoking the paranoid tension of Rosemary's Baby and the unnerving atmosphere of the cult horror film Jacob's Ladder, The Cracks in the Labyrinth is a disturbing psychological thriller set in present-day Caracas, where the government has devolved into a "democratic dictatorship"-a creepy suspense novel meant to challenge your deeper, subconscious fears of losing control. It consumed the sanity of an entire country...And it was not from this world. It couldn't have been. Living ostracized to hide from the brutal way of life in Caracas, he's working tirelessly as an online writer to help his brother and sister flee the country. Now, as he's about to have enough money to take them to safety, he receives an email from his old girlfriend ... which is remarkable, considering she's been presumed dead for years. Adam tries to think nothing of the email or the broken video file attached to it. He convinces himself that it has to be a computer virus of some kind until he discovers something terrifying: the video might link his sister to the worst night of his life, the night his girlfriend went missing, the night of "The Red Christmas". Then he realizes this could be a threat; his sister's life could be in danger. As he starts to investigate who sent the video, Adam begins to uncover dark truths about his neighbors and finds evidence that there might be a larger conspiracy at play. The problem is that he's starting to suffer from hellish hallucinations that make him question what is real. Soon, the only clear thing to him is that someone doesn't want him to dig up the past. Will Adam be able to stay sane long enough to find out what really happened the night of "The Red Christmas"? Will he succeed in helping his family escape the country?
