《Golem Armor: Building a Mech In Fantasy World.》09 - Memories

Adrin sat uncomfortably in between two. He was a young inexperienced man in this world who had never had much interaction with women, and his spirit only had nothing but bad memories about them. Based on that, he could see this ending badly.
At least it should have. The scene of the two talking nicely to one another during dinner was still fresh in his head. They talked and joked about him as if sharing a man was nothing but business as usual. He was just stunned to see what was going on.
Mostly it was just Marla teasing Emi about it but still, they weren’t pulling each other's hair and screaming like they had gone insane. They even got him involved, not to pick sides, but in a good way. Marla was astounded by Emi’s story about the goblins even though he had never planned to tell anyone.
Nevertheless, now he was saddled in between the two. Marla was more generous with her soft and supple breast while Emi was shy more than anything else. She might be shy, but she had never enjoyed losing and pulled his other arm.
Resigned to his fate, Adrin began with what he wanted to know about them.
“You are awakened, right?” he asked Marla.
“Yes, but my spirit only knows a little about farming,” Marla complained.
“Mine knows how to steal from others,” Emi chuckled. “Not like I want to steal from anyone, but it has been useful.”
“You know that I will be leaving soon, right?”
The dead silence and further shrinking of his non-existent personal space said it all. They knew he had no choice but to leave but it begged the question.
“Why do they always force a decent man out?” Marla said in frustration. “Only wimps will be left at this rate.”
Adrin couldn’t agree more than that, but he had to address it, “you already know this but yet you still-”
“Can’t a girl choose who she wants to have fun with?” Emi protested. “At least we’ll have some good things to remember by.”
‘Making good memories, is that it?’ he mused. ‘Maybe a little hypergamy is in the mix too. Marla was swooning when she heard the story of him slaying the goblins.’
But they were right. When you were born in a monster-filled world, making good memories would help a lot to drown the impending doom your mind always imagined. Intense sexual intercourse tended to be more visceral and long-lasting memory than anything else.

“I understand,” he said, finally leaning on his back. His body relaxed and the girls could feel it.
“Is that what worries you?” Emi sighed and slipped her hand into his clothes.
“See, my boy is a decent man,” Marla said while pinching his cheek. “I would rejoice if I got a half as a decent kid out of you.”
The woman’s word sent shivers down his spine and somehow into his loins. Marla chuckled when she felt it in her other hand, the woman knew what made a man tick.
He feared the prospect of having a child at such a young age, but it was something else after learning a woman wanted to bear a child from his seed. It was something primal, far stronger than the awakened spirit had ever felt.
If he hadn’t had high enough [Willpower], he would have pushed her down right there and given what she wanted. Marla chuckled and he realized that she was doing it on purpose, she wanted him to push her down in front of Emi.
His swirl vortex of mana had turned into a black-hole of control chaos as if something was messing with his mind, but he got it under control. The woman was scary.
But in some odd way, it all made sense. If mana had always existed ever before any human was consummated, would it have fundamentally influenced human biology?
The lack of gravity in space had caused humans' bones to lose their density, let alone this reality-bending mana. Who knew what was different under the skin. They might look exactly like the humans in his spirit’s past life, but looks were in fact, could be deceiving.
The humans here should be a different species than in the old world.
If nothing else, humans from Earth would likely die in some way if mana was suddenly introduced to the air they were breathing. The real question was how horrible or how fast.
“Do you intend to make us go to bed together?” Emi said with disdain in her words. “I’m sorry, but I can’t-”
“No,” Adrin answered and sighed. “I’m leaving but I intended not to feel guilty after, you know if somehow, a child is-”
“Oh, you don’t have to say it,” Marla giggled.
“Alright, I’ll get to the point,” he decided. “After awakening, what skills or abilities do you get, how about attributes, and do you know about the status display?”

“Status what?” Marla asked him. “What do you mean by skills and abilities?”
“Father had asked me something similar,” Emi said, her eyes narrowed, “but he didn’t explain when I asked what he meant by that.”
“Have you heard anything about inspiration points?”
Both of them looked at each other before shaking their heads.
“Then listen carefully, what I’m about to tell you will change your lives, but only tell others you trust your life because the backfire will ruin you.”
Adrin told what his status looked like, the name, age, and class. He described the life and stamina bar, his attributes, and lastly, his abilities and skills. He also told them about leveling up, the aspiration points, and how it could help them greatly.
Of course, he didn’t tell everything to them but just enough for the girls to understand. He explained why he was able to catch fish easily and the related ability while keeping others vague. Adrin wanted to trust the two of them, but he feared human nature.
People always misspoke when they talk. It was easier to make mistakes while speaking than writing something down, and their own mistake might harm them.
Marla and Emi gasped the first time they opened their status.
Adrin had his suspicions, but he was still surprised to know that Marla was already a level 4 villager without a single kill under her belt. She had been sitting on three aspiration points, two attributes from two abilities, and a total of five skills.
The woman got [Endurance] from her [Farming] ability, and oddly alarming [Vigor] from her [Lascivious] ability. The ability name explained why she was always ready for some, and maybe the way she attracted men like honey.
He had seen it with his own eyes how other men looked at her. Even the loyal husbands were reprimanded by their wives for staring too long.
Her four skills were the things she was particularly good at, [Cooking], [Sow], [Till], [Cut] and [Clean]. Why she didn’t get everything else was everyone’s guess at the moment.
The one year awakened Emi was pretty impressive by her own merit. [Herbalism] had unlocked both [Wisdom] and [Intelligence] which was unbelievable. She was sitting on one aspiration point with three skills. The obvious one was [Sneak], but she also got [Dodge] and surprisingly [Kick] which she had never shown to him.
Their discussion heated up on what ability or skill each of them needed, but the girls agree on one thing. The extra [Strength] attribute was the thing they had to have. He showed how he got [Bodybuilding] and the girls were able to use the inspiration point to get the ability and attribute.
Curious enough, Marla’s muscles didn’t suddenly bulge from the increase of her [Strength] attribute. She could easily lift things now, but Marla's arms still remained slender as if nothing had changed at all.
There was muscle growth, of course, but it was all under the thin layer of her smooth fair skin. He could feel it in his hand.
Emi, on the other hand, her muscle growth was more visible, but when compared, hers was not very far from his arm. The only difference he could see was the [Vigor] and [Lascivious] ability Marla possesses compared to Emi.
Maybe that was why Marla had her a rather voluptuous shape? The ability increased her sexual libido while the attribute altered her physically?
Adrin sighed, was he thinking of using his lower head again?
But as hateful as it sounded, in the real world, sex had always been used as a weapon. The most effective and sinister of weapons. It also begged another question.
The worst thing that could happen to him other than death itself.
“Does slave-trading exist?” He asked Marla.
The surprised look on her face said it all, as he suspected, she had been one of them. He had never seen her had such a reaction. She ran to her room for some reason and he let her cool down until she was ready to talk.
He spent the time teaching the other girl. Emi left the place after he taught her about the blue-stone. The rest was up to her.
That night, Marla opened up about her life as they cuddled on the bed. The woman had it worse than he ever was. The kind-hearted woman had lived most of her life in the brothels with a collar around her neck.
All because she had refused a rich man's proposal.

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!

The most challenging MMO ever created—that’s how they advertised it. Taglines like, “Not your granddaddy’s game,” and, “Only for the hardest of the hardcore,” had gamers going crazy. It was going to be tough, but he was ready for it. What he wasn’t ready for, was countless players having their minds hijacked and being transformed into mindless, hostile creatures filled with nothing but hate who killed anyone on sight. They called them the Bloodless. Clay’s best and only friend, Rey, moved across the country she was twelve, but they kept in touch online, playing countless games together, and when Blood Seekers was released, they were both ready to step up to the plate and face the new challenge together. But now, Rey has been taken by the plague, her mind held hostage as one of the Bloodless. A mysterious black monolith has appeared at the center of the highest level zone in the game, a place no one has even come close to. Some say it will provide us with answers. Others say it will only lead to more questions. Who’s behind all this? Why are people’s minds being taken? Will we ever get to bring them back? How many more will be lost if we stay logged in? Nothing is certain, but if there’s any chance that reaching the monolith will bring Rey back back, then Clay will do everything he can to reach it. This is Book 1 in a new series from Stephen Roark! Soul's Curtain
The mortal land bordered by two worlds, one of immortals and the other of ceaselessness. As Illias Finn remains bound within the cell of an abandoned prison the curtain calls its chosen to descend into it's embrace. To be honest I will just write and upload whenever i feel like it, but if i find it getting relative success I can try write a bit more. This will just be a write, read then upload kind of thing for me while i try to flesh out more worldbuilding. I'm pretty novice when it comes to writing just a few years of secondary english under my belt but hardly any of that's creative. NGL, a lot of this world building is inspired by Tower of God or other fiction i have read, especially the tower-like setting.
