《The Freshman Tease ✓》4. Moonlight

After finishing dinner, we hop back into the car and head to the theater. It's quiet for a bit, but it's a comfortable silence.
"So what do you think about Jason and Ray so far?" Lincoln breaks the silence first.
"Ray seems really nice," I smile, remembering Ray adding supporting points to my ideas during the meeting, and defending me when I said things Lincoln and Jason disagreed with.
"Yeah for sure, he's always been the nicer one among the three of us," Lincoln chuckles. I've gotten that vibe already, he's really friendly and easy to talk to.
"Jason," I pause to think, "honestly intimidates me a little."
He always seems to look at me with such a strong serious expression, as if he's studying me with those deep brown eyes. I feel small because he's significantly taller than me, towering over me with his powerful stance. His dark hair is perfectly styled, compared to Lincoln's more relaxed style.
Lincoln seems taken aback, and slightly furrows his eyebrows. "Well that's a first. Girls always seem to fall for him, something about the 'attractive bad boy' type I guess." I suppose I can see what he means.

The theater ends up being pretty empty as I look around and only see a handful of other people sitting around us. Not a popular movie I guess. Lincoln sits with his legs apart, and his leg gently presses against mine, making my heart beat speed up a little. What is even happening to me?
The movie ends up being an action movie that seemed to be 90% explosions, and 10% plot, some damsel in distress cliché. I couldn't really focus anyways. We leave the theater, it's dark outside and the sky is clear, making the full moon fully visible.

"I wish I was away from the city lights, it's hard to see stars with all the light pollution," I mumble absentmindedly, looking up at the dark navy sky. "I've been camping a couple times and that was one of my favorite parts."
"Well, I know of a place we could go. It's not super dark, but it's a lot better than here," he suggests.
"Sure, let's go," I say, excitedly. Part of me questions this decision a little. I'm agreeing to go to some secluded place at night with a guy I've only seen twice? Then again, maybe I've just been watching too many murder documentaries.
We head back to the car, and Lincoln starts driving. It's a longer drive than I expect. We reach a large park, from the outside I would think it was a forest, but there's actually a park sign outside. He drives up the winding dirt road, the car's headlights being the only source of visibility. The large trees above create a roof, making everything below completely dark. He parks in what I think is supposed to be a parking lot.
"Follow me." He turns on the flashlight on his phone. We don't have to walk for long before we reach what I realize is a cliff. Far below us is the familiar twinkle of city lights, but above us, I see the bright stars, with the night sky as a dark backdrop. There's a small wooden bench we go and sit on.
"This is so pretty," I mumble, looking up. I shiver a little, the cool autumn breeze brushes against me.
"Here," he says, taking off his coat and draping it around me. I feel an immediate heat, not from the coat, but from my nervousness, and I can feel my face turn red. I hope it's too dark for him to notice. The coat smells like him, and makes me want to never take it off.

We sit together and point out the constellations we manage to see. I tell him about seeing stars when camping for the first time. We discuss how we're just tiny specks in our universe. Time flies by, and I check my phone.
"Oh wow it's almost midnight." Time really flew, we've been sitting here for over an hour already.
"Do you have something to do?" Lincoln asks, looking slightly concerned.
"Nah, it's Friday night," I laugh, "Thanks a lot for bringing me here."
"No problem, I'm glad you enjoyed it," he whispers. He continues facing me. Even with barely any light from the moon, his blue eyes still feel piercing. We look at each other, and I can feel the tension in the air.
He slowly starts to lean in. Oh my god is this happening? I can feel my heart pounding in my chest as we get closer and closer. He kisses slowly and gently, and cups the side of my blushing face.
He quickly pulls me onto his lap until our bodies are pressed against each other and I can feel his breathing is as erratic as mine. He pulls away, and the evening air feels cool against my lips.
"Oh," I manage to whisper. He chuckles, the vibrations from his voice against my neck sends shivers down my back. My hands reach around and grip his hair, I sure hope no one can see us. He stops to whisper into my ear. "My place?" he asks and I eagerly nod. I get off of him and we quickly head back to the car.
