《Sirens in Seattle》{chapter 28}

"Hey baby, how are you." Phoenix asked closing and locking our door.

"Fine." I replied simply , my eyes staring at the doorway above his head.

"You'll never guess how good today was." He continued not yet turning around, still taking off his belt and such but I could tell by his tone he was smiling.

"Tell me how good." I said in the same lifeless tone and moved my eyes to the back of his head.

He was about to answer but stopped as he turned around.

"Amelia what's wrong?" He asked worriedly, brushing a hand through his soft light hair.

I just sat there and sniffled my eyes never leaving his. I could feel the cake of my mascara that had run down my face from the silent tears falling .

"Nothing." I said , my voice cracking and shaking my head slowly all while a sick feeling was rising in the top of my belly.

Then I think it hit him when he seen my hair, makeup and outfit. Or what was left of my hair makeup and outfit I should say.

"Amelia , Mia I-I forgot I'm sorry. I swear I'll make it up to you." He blurted getting down on a knee by me and grabbing my hands in his ,hurriedly.

I sniffled again as a fresh flow of tears threatened to break through.

"I don't understand how you did this to me. I bought a new outfit. I didn't my hair. And you fucking forget about me?" I asked my voice rising.

"No Mia it's not like that. You know my job-"

I cut him off my yanking my hand out of his.

"What happened to your jaw?" I asked in a stone looking at the bruising that was growing.

"It's not really important-" he started again but I cut him off once again.

"What. Happened." I demanded springing up from my chair and pointing a finger at him.

He sighed , took a deep breath and stood up."Mia, after my shift , me and some of the guys went to get drinks at the bar and there was a little scuffle between us and some random drunks." He tried to explain while I noticed the bruising also on his knuckles.

I laughed a humorless laugh."That's hilarious. You ditched me? Made me get all ready? To go get a drink with the guys?" I said with a twisted smirk.

He said nothing and I shook my head pushing past him straight to our room.

"Mia , please I'll make it up to you." He begged.

"I'm glad for whoever did that, you asshole!" I screeched at him referring to his jaw and grabbed my poka dot duffle bag.

So much was going through my mind. I thought Pheonix could of been hurt, injured or just something wrong in general but nope. He decided to go get a drink with the guys. I didn't even want to think of how he turned his phone off or how he forgot.

I began going to my drawers and shoving some pajamas, underwear and bras into the bag angrily.

At this moment I couldn't stay here.

"Amelia please." Phoenix begged wrapping his arms around me from the back.

I began to struggle to get out of grasp , butI went limp when I realized the cherry on the top of this wonderful night.

I smelled perfume. Not on me. On Phoenix.

The perfume was a sickly sweet smell that filled my nostrils and seemed to choke me.

I slowly turned to face him , tears pouring out of my eyes at this point.

His jaw bruising was getting worse and his eyes were watering and to be honest he looked sad and regretful, but my anger wouldn't let me feel any sympathy for him.

"W- why do you smell like p-perfume." I choked out.

"I danced a little but nothing happened Mia, you know I'm not like that." He continued begging and I was just noticing the tears starting to fall down his cheeks more rapidly.

"Do I?" I seethed out pushing against his chest, I had to get away from that smell.

He was out dancing with other women, while I sat alone at home worried sick. This was the perfect picture of being pathetic and I absolutely refused to be pathetic.

I went back to my bag and shoved a few pair of shorts into the back before moving to the closet to grab some tops.

I definitely couldn't be here right now, my sadness was gone and the tears coming out of my eyes were hot angry tears.

Phoenix followed me but didn't say anything as I threw some tops into my bag.

He still followed me as I searched the room for my wallet.

"Where's my wallet?" I growled moving around the blankets looking for it.

My rage only filled when I seen Phoenix stupidly standing in the doorway holding my wallet.

"Can we talk please?" He begged once more.

"Please just give it to me." I said exhausted.

"Mia, I am sorry. Ok? I'm sorry. I know I messed up big this time but I swear on everything I did not mean to miss our date. I would never ever hurt you like this on purpose. It's late, I don't want you to be out there, not like this." He explained frantically.

I stood there with my bag on my shoulder full with a few days worth of clothes.

I had two options at the moment.

1) stay and let him make it up.

2) leave to cool for a while and decide my course of action.

"Give me my damn wallet or I'll leave without it and sleep in my car." I said hitched because my chest was heaving.

He made no move so I walked up to him and snatched my wallet.

"Bye." I muttered making my way to the front door.

I almost made it when Phoenix grabbed my upper arm making me stumble back.

"Please." He said softly, this time tears were slowly making their way down his face and his cheeks were turning red.

"I can't talk to you while you smell like another women.I know my fucking worth and this is not it." I growled breaking our hold roughly and quickly running through the front door.

I opted for the stairs because they were quicker than waiting for an elevator.

The doorman was no longer at his position so I swung the door open and jogged to my car that was parked in the designated lot.

I opened the back door and threw all my clothes into the back before hopping into the the drivers seat.

I started my car and sped out of the parking lot to where I didn't even know all while wiping my tears.

I could get a hotel for the night, just to rest and think in private but being alone was something i didn't want or my tears would drown me.

A few more moments of thinking helped me settle on the idea of a hotel. Some room service would be kind of nice since I was starving.

I u-turned into a cute looking hotel that was well know for tourists , so all I hoped is there would be a room available.

I parked in the front and gave my keys to a vallet driver before making my way to the front desk with my bag slung over my shoulder.

What next.
