《Is It Wrong To Not Give A Damn In The Dungeon》Freya's Proposal
Advertisement
I was standing in Freyas Room in Babel tower.
She wants to ask me questions. Such a pain in the ass but hey, who gives a shit.
Actually.....I do.
Freya: I'm glad that you've arrived.
Me: Well, when you send the King, there's not much I can do but follow along.
That was a LIE. I could have easily left and never come but doing that would be stupid
Me: Anyways, something you want to ask?
Freya: Fufu of course, but it seems you want to skip the greetings and move on with it.
Me: I mean, I'm standing in enemy territory, can't blame me, can ya?
Freya: Very well, Riku. What do you plan to do in this city?
What did I want to do?
Me: Well, I originally arrived here unwillingly, in fact, I didn't even know I was going to come here until just recently. Then things happened and I have something to do, though, think I'm not going to do all of what he says.
I've told nothing but the truth. IT must be frustrating no getting the answers you want but at the same time, can't do anything about it. HAHA, I love abusing the lie detector system that the gods have.
Freya: I see, but Riku, is it true that you've even been able to outclass your own captain in battle.
Me: Finn? Yeah, I kicked his ass to the next world over, curious about the details, are we?
Freya: Why of course? Even my Ottar wants to know exactly what happened.
Me: Well this and that happened, he wanted me to do something, I denied, made a deal of some sort, I challenged him, beat him, and here we are now. Happy? I can't really reveal specifics about anything besides the fight.
Freya: I understand, I can't force you to speak about famillia affairs. What about you Ottar? Anything to ask?
The man built like Shaq removed the stoic expression on his face and replaced it with pure seriousness.
He took a while to speak.
Ottar: You make it sound like Finn Deimne is nothing but rubble in the way.
Me: It's because I have. I'm sure you can beat Finn as well, Ottar.
Ottar: I suppose. But do you not have any respect for your captain?
Me: Why would I have any respect for the Fake Hero of Orario?
Freya: Fake hero hmmm? What makes you think that.
Me: Well there are all sorts of things I know which you can only speculate about.
Freya: Do you think I cant figure these things out?
Me: Maybe, maybe not.
When they happen in the future. But they also might not, because of things I might have altered.
Freya: Usually I would ask why you were level 6 when you entered Oraio but since the other gods should have asked about that but haven't pressed on that matter any further, I can assume your explanation is reasonable. So I'll ask this instead. Were there any monsters on the outside that can rival a dungeon monster. Because otherwise, I find it impossible to achieve level 6 outside of the dungeon.

Me: The monsters outside Orario are really weak. I only got strong because there were a lot of adventures outside that wanted to fight me. As you know, fighting and training also increase excilia.
Freya: That is true.
I can't believe she fell for that bullshit, lying to people who can see through lies is amazing.
Freya: Loki said you have elemental lighting magic, correct.
Me: Yeah.
Freya: While it's not rare to have that type, it is rare to have a blue type of lightning rather than yellow.
Ah right, I had blue lighting.
WOW. The system just conveniently tells me my lightning is purple now. Right when she mentions it.
Coincidences can be really freaky.
......
Yeah, this ain't no fucking coincidence. The system is trolling me.
Another alert pops up.
Does this mean I can combine the thunder skill with my shadow abilities?
So this is my new lighting shadow skill? Corny name but hey.
I'll try this out later.
What's that mean 'complete transformation'
Does it mean complete transformation till I become a legitimate Sovereign?
OHHHH. Is that the reason why Oceanus calls me 'little Sovereign'
I thought it was just an insulting way to refer to me.
Of course, I could just be completely wrong.
Me: The reason my lighting is a different color is that others can't hope to match my level in lighting magic. I'm a cut above the rest you might say.
Freya: Where do you get this extreme arrogance?
Me: I like to take pride in my overwhelming strength.
As well as my op hacks.
Freya: Do you think your magic surpasses that of even Rivera Lojs Alf?
Me: "I'm a cut above the rest" Pretty sure I answered that question already.
Freya: Do you think you can take on my Ottar?
Me: Sorry Freya, but I don't think there's anyone in this city who is on the same level as me.
Freya's smile changed to that of a grimace.
Freya: Are you saying my Ottar cant beat you? Or even the sword princess?
Me: The likes of them have no hope of reaching me. Simple as that.
Freya: .......now even I think you are being too arrogant for your own sake.
Me: Honestly, I could give a damn what you think. If you want me to prove it, I'll take on your entire familia here and now.
Freya: I suggest you don't say such careless words. But right now, most of them are in the dungeon taking on quests so that's impossible. But you did say that no one in this city can beat you, correct? If that's the case, why don't you fight someone outside of Orario?
Me: level 7 Ottar cant beat me, who can. Unless you take my word with a grain of salt and believe I cant.

Freya: Why not fight the 'Enki Familia'.
Me: And they are?
Freya: An A rank familia. They'll be arriving in Orario tomorrow. How about I arrange something between you two to prove your strength.
Me: You're suggesting a war game arent you.
Freya: Yes I am. How about a Frontal Assult-type War Game. You vs all 105 members of Enki Familia. Also, since you are called the Tenjin, I think it's appropriate that your opponent has a lighting resistance. Children of Enki gain a lighting-resistant developmental ability because Enki is the god of Earth. Since you claim to be able to beat my Familia, I think it's fine if you have a little handicap.
Me: Yeah sure. Arrange it. Don't bother telling me the specifics. I'll just read the poster with the details on it.
I turned around, opened the door, and left.
Freya: He was rather....... irritating.
Ottar: Yes, I believe so as well.
I can hear them from here.
But if they think I'm irritating now, then they better make sure not to piss me off.
Ottar: Lady Freya, Enki Familia might be labeled an A rank Familia but both Captain and Vice-captain are level 6 with 3 levels 5's. The average level in their Familia is 4. They're just 1 level 6 shy from being classified S rank.
Freya: Of course, if he can't beat them, then he's nothing but talk after all. Plus, it's more exciting if he faces off against the formerly third strongest famillia in Orario instead of some no-name.
Ottar: When do you plan for this war game to take place.
Freya: Enki owes me, so I'll make sure he's okay with it being in 2 weeks from now. Loki Familia should be back from their expedition by then, I wonder how they'll react when their level 6 has to face off against them.
It's real late at night. I wonder if the Hostess is still open.
I quickly move through the shadows and teleport to the surrounding area of the Hostess.
I saw a girl sweeping the outside entrance. A girl I don't know.
I walk up to her and ask-
Me: Place still open?
The girl looks up and sees my face, even with all the darkness outside.
"Tenjin? Yeah, we're still open. Busier than ever right now."
I walk inside after hearing that.
It was boisterous as ever. I walked all the way back to the bar counter. I go and lean on the counter.
Mia: Ya here to empty you your wallets, Tenjin.
Me: I don't really have all that much money. I'm here to learn somethings.
Mia: Like what?
Me: Enki Familia.
Mia: Ah well that'll cost ya.
Seriously. I could; just asked Ryuu and she'd tell me for free.
But I take out a couple of coins anyways and place them on the counter. Mia quickly pushes them her way and places them in a bag.
Mia: Well ya see, Enki Familia used to be a dungeon-crawling Familia back in the day. Ranked third but was close enough to be ranked second. One day the guild gave them an order to travel to Israfan, a merchant nation west of the Kaios Desert. They were sent as a delegation of Orarios to discuss commerce between Orario and Israfan. They ended up staying there as Orario's representative. Enki Familia hasn't been in Orario for 2 and a half years but I hear they've participated in many battles. Anyway, the rumor is that there coming back soon.
Me: Guess that's useful. Anyways, see ya.
Mia: He, ya ain't leaving till ya buy something.
I'm walking away from the counter as I say,
Me: I bought information. Good enough.
As I walk out of the bar, an elf stops me.
Ryuu: Pretty bold of you to talk back to Mia.
Me: Pretty bold of you to assume I wouldn't talk back to her.
Ryuu: Hmm guess that's right. I overheard you asking about Enki. Why is that?
Me: Enki has now become related to me. I like to know more about people who are related to me. You'll see soon anyways. Maybe tomorrow. Anyhow, I'll be going to the dungeon tomorrow, I might stop by. No guarantees though.
Ryuu: I'll make sure you empty those pockets from your fancy clothes.
Oh yeah, I'm still wearing those clothes. But they're just so cool, Id rather not take them off.
Ryuu: You go to the dungeon wearing that?
Me: Yep. Wearing armor is a pain in the ass. Rather go in wearing whatever the hell I want.
Ryuu: That's careless and dangerous.
Me: Nah, it's the danger that's careless if they think I need armor.
I leave the Hostess after that comment.
Anya: Is Ryuu worried for her boyfriend nya
Chloe: Meow, I mean who wouldn't be worried for a guy with a bod like that meow.
Ryuu: Sigh I think you shouldn't talk like that about him. You saw what he did to those girls who were harassing him. Absolutely humiliated. Though, you already humiliate yourself every day.
Chloe: That's mean meow.
Ryuu: Whatever.
If only they would stop bugging me. Can I not be worried about a friend?
But I have to admit, black is a fine color on him.
Wait...what am I saying.

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
