Leo and I were sitting in a pool chair together at Mitch's poll party.
I was in his lap as he ran his hand through my hair.
We need as much time together as possible.
I was going threw with the plan to help Tyler and Chelsea. Mostly because they promised me two tickets to see Panic at the Disco plus fifty bucks. Twenty extra if I don't complain the entire week.
I couldn't turn that down.
I gave Leo a kiss before getting up.
"Want a drink?"
"Sure, surprise me,"
I smiled and grabbed two root beers.
"Happy birthday!" I said handing him the can.
"Thanks babe,"
"You guys! Dance with me," Blake whined.
Leo got up and Blake led us to the dance floor.
We danced together and had a good time until Mitch came over.
"Hey guys," he grinned not looking at Blake at all.
"Sup?" Leo asked giving him a man hug.
"Having fun?" he asked.
"Tons!" I said fist pumping.
Mitch laughed. "Great, talk to you guys later,"
Mitch walked the opposite way of Blake.
Blake gave me a look and sighed. "Give him some time,"
"How much time?"
"A lot. Straight guys do not like finding out they're gay," Leo said placing his hand on my back.
I giggled. "You should know,"
"Shut up," Blake said breaking us up. "Leave room for Jesus!"
Leo and I pushed him out the way and danced closer together to bother him.
Around nine o'clock my mom came to pick Leo, Blake and I up.
We all said good bye to Mitch and hurried to her car.
"How was it?" my mom asked as I climbed into the front seat.
"Good," I smiled.

"Good," she grinned.

The next morning I got ready to go bowling with Leo.
His mom picked me up and dropped us off.
After two games she came back and took us to my house.
Leo and I hung out by the pool and made out a little.
*Tyler's Point Of View*
Chelsea and I were in her room talking about school and how sweet school was going to be.
I was 'dating' a beautiful girl, no one seconded guessed us, Chelsea was cheer captain and I was the captain of the football, basketball, and lacrosse team. Plus, we were both hot.
Senior year was going to be cake.
"I'll be right back," I said as Chelsea flipped opened the keypad to text her man.
She nodded her head as a slow smile came to her face.
I walked to the kitchen and filled a glass with milk.
I took a glop as I looked out the window.
There she was with him.
They were making out by the pool. They would pull away slowly and smile at each other, then kiss again.
I forced myself to calm down.
Ryan was going to be my girl for a week. Maybe then my creepy crush on her will end.
I realized that I had the hots for Ryan in fifth grade, when I had my first girlfriend.
I compared her to Ryan all the time, since then I've been comparing girls to Ryan. No one was as amazing or beautiful as her.
Chelsea doesn't know about my crush on her. Ryan's my best friend's sister.
Chelsea made it clear to every man to back off her sister.
Chelsea's bit is just as bad as her bark.
I sighed and put my glass in the sink.
One week of being Ryan's girlfriend.

I smiled and headed up stairs.
*Ryan's Point Of View*
Today was Monday.
Great...
I rolled out of bed and walked to my closet.
I looked over at Tyler to find him still asleep.
That was my 'boyfriend' for a week?
Oh gosh.
"I'm here to make you hot," Chelsea said walking into my room, still in her footy pajamas.
She picked out my clothes, skinny jeans and a close fitting shirt.
"Can you please where the boots?" she asked.
"Whatever, get out," I said closing the door on her.
I pulled on my clothes and looked over at Tyler.
He was looked back at me in only jeans.
I gave him the head nod and pulled on my boots.
As I left for the bathroom I grabbed my book bag.
I fixed my hair and makeup. I wore waterproof eyeliner and mascara.
Once I was done I joined my mommy downstairs.
"Don't you look nice," she said smiling.
"Thanks," I grinned.
"What's the occasion?"
"Leo," I lied.
She smiled at me and handed my breakfast.
"Now, we're sisters," Chelsea said.
I rolled my eyes and quickly eat.
The guys walked in all at once.
"You look..." Marcus started.
"Sexy!" Blake and Tyler said together.
I shook my head. "Thanks, let's rock and roll this party," I said walking pass them.
"Bye mom!" I called.
"Bye," she yelled after me.
Marcus drove me to school and I let the guys in on the plan.
They both pinky promised me to not tell anyone.
You can not break a pinky promise.
Blake and I walked to my locker and there was Leo.
I blinked back tears.
He looked me up and down before hugging me.
"I don't think I can do this,"
"Only a week," I whispered kissing him.
As we pulled away Tyler and Chelsea walked by.
I nodded at them and Tyler winked at me.
I guess I should get used to those.
******
The periods flew by and now it was lunch.
I walked into the cafeteria, fuming.
"What is this?" I yelled at Leo handing him my phone.
He looked at the screen and his eyes grew big. "Um...a text,"
"To Wendy? Who the hell is Wendy? Last time I check my name was Ryan!"
"Baby-" he started.
"Don't baby me! If you didn't want to be with me anymore then just tell me!"
"Fine! I don't want to be with you anymore! You're bossy and a hardhead. You never listen to me and if I have to listen to you bitch one more time I will kill myself,"
Tears began to form. "Go to hell!" I screamed running out of the cafeteria.
I felt all eyes on me until the doors slammed.
"Are you okay?" I deep voice asked.
"Yeah, I'm crying for fun,"
Tyler placed a hand on my shoulder. "Ryan,"
I turned around and hugged him.
Tyler slowly wrapped his arms around me.
He smelled really good. Now, I get why girls like to hug him.
Tyler did give really good hugs.
I smiled and pulled away. "You okay?"
"Yeah," I said whipping my eyes.
Tyler looked around and smiled at me. "You were amazing,"
"Thanks," I said cockily.
He chuckled. "Ready for the big finally?"
I nodded my head and laced our fingers together.

The Stars Have Eyes
The universe was a vast, empty, dark, and uncaring place. Then life happened, and the universe was changed forever. Only a teeny-tiny bit, but definitely different. Then again, the universe changes a teeny-tiny bit every second of every day. For instance, if someone were to get off the couch and randomly drink a glass of milk? Bam! One less glass of milk in the universe. Changed forever. Well, excluding any time-travel shenanigans, but anyone who puts a big old hole in the time-space continuum just to un-drink a glass of milk should really reevaluate their priorities. Unless, of course, they were attempting to prevent some massive catastrophe vis-a-vis said glass of milk. Such a scenario is by no means impossible, as one should never underestimate the importance of calcium. Another important tip for any life forms out there is to keep things in perspective. Some look at the vastness of creation in relation to themselves and go, ‘Man, this sucks!’ These people really need to narrow their focus. Sure, they will never affect anything happening on the other end of the galaxy, but so what? That’s way the heck over there, where it doesn’t matter. Therefore, in order to maintain a healthy mindset, it is important to narrow one’s perspective to the things and people that affect them, and that they can affect in turn. But what happens if one is an unfathomable cosmic being from beyond the veil of reality? What happens when such an existence is capable of influencing entire swathes of the universe just by its presence? A creature such as Magh'rathlak the Observer? That particular entity is only about average as far as reality-warping creatures from the dawn of time go, so its influence over the fabric of reality is rather limited. And it still struggles to keep things in perspective. That, among other things, is why it decided to narrow its worldview a bit by compressing the maddening vastness of its being into a single corporeal form. Magh'rathlak had never tried such a feat, but that wasn't about to stop it. After all, how hard could being human possibly be?
8 183The Tower Trials
"The Towers have stood for centuries. They offer riches and power in equal measure to those that are brave, strong, and lucky enough to overcome their Trials. Isaac has arrived in time for the annual Novice Trial where young men and women aged 16 through 18 are set to enter the Tower for their first time. Novice Trials are a rite of passage, and though one is not required to take it, one cannot develop their Mana System without it. However, the trials are deadly, and there are always some that go in, but never come out. Regardless of the danger, Novice Trials are required for entry into any of the four grand academies. Those that survive the trials are able to gain experience and level-up as they ascend the different floors of the Towers." The Tower Trials is my first attempt at writing.
