"I-I need to tell you something."
He looked at me expectantly. "What's up?"
"I'm pregnant," I breathed out, finally feeling like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. He stayed silent. I couldn't read his mind nor feel his emotions.
"It's not a good time to bring a pup into this world," he told me like as if I made the baby myself. I get where he's coming from since we're in danger but when haven't we?
"Are you forgetting that I didn't make it myself?," I snapped. He let out a sigh.
"I didn't mean it like that," he said softly. He wrapped his arms around me bringing me closer to him. "I'm sorry." He rested his chin on my head. "It's been a while since your heat. Your wolf must've told you as soon as she knew."
"We found out a week ago," I told him. He moved his chin from my head and looked at me. "I tried to tell you but you were so busy and worried about the pack."
"It's okay," he told me. He leaned down and gave me a small peck on my lips. I will never get used to the sparks and tingles.
"Really?," I asked. He nodded his head. He moved his arms and grabbed my hand instead.
"Let's go to the pack doctor."
-
I laid on the hospital bed as the doctor rubbed some cold gel on my stomach. Grayson held my hand as he watched the doctor wearily. We stared at the doctor as he moved the wand around the lower half of my stomach. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding when I heard the heartbeat.
"Is that...?", I trailed off, unable to finish my sentence. Tears began to form in my eyes. The doctor nodded his head.
"That's a strong heartbeat," he informed us. "We can't see the little one yet because he's too small." I nodded my head and sat up. I grabbed a paper towel and wiped the gel off my stomach. I pulled my top down and got off the bed.
"It doesn't feel real," I told Grayson honestly. "If someone ever told me that we'd actually get along and we were becoming parents, I would've laughed in their face."
"The world works in crazy ways," he remarked as he threw an arm across my shoulders.
"The Luna ceremony is tomorrow," I told him. "I don't want to tell people about the pup until we know who the mole is."

"The pack will notice the change in your scent." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Just don't confirm it. Let them think whatever they want."
"Let's go somewhere," he told me. I raised an eyebrow. He didn't say anything else as we walked through the forest. Suddenly, we came across a huge tree. I watched as he began to climb up the ladder that was stuck to the tree. A treehouse. I followed suit and soon I was at the top. We could see over the trees. It was absolutely beautiful.
"I made this when I was a kid," he told me. "Zanes dad made it but I helped." I gave him a small smile. I looked at the ground to see blankets, pillows, snacks and a laptop.
"What's this?"
"I was hoping we could stay here tonight," he said. "We haven't really seen much of each other."
"That's be nice."
"I got Zane to bring it all up on the way here."
"You are so lazy," I told him with a small laugh. We sat on the blanket and leaned against the pillows. He put on Netflix on the laptop and started to find a movie. "No! Not that!" It was twilight.
"Why not?," he asked with a smirk. "I wanna watch it."
"Remember we watched it ages ago?," I exclaimed. He was trying to get payback because I made him watch it a while ago. "Let's find something we both wanna watch."
Hours of talking and sitting under the stars, we somehow fell asleep.
Graysons PoV
I stared down at Alana's sleeping form. I watched as she snuggled closer to me. I can't believe I willingly gave her up. Maybe if I had stopped being an asshole sooner, I could've had this a long time ago with her.
She's perfect and now she's carrying my pup. I've become a mate and a father in the span of a few months. It seems so surreal because I never thought I'd have anything like this.
My mom made me promise to take care and protect my mate. I failed at that but now, I'm trying to make it up to her, myself and Alana. I've failed at being a mate and now I just hope I don't fail at being a father.
Cautiously, I gently lifted my hand and rested it on Alana's belly, slowly rubbing circles. "I can't wait to meet you," I spoke quietly, not wanting to wake her up. "I can't promise that I'm not gonna be a shitty dad but I can promise to try my best."

Alana's PoV
"I'm not dealing with that shit today," I sighed out as I wandered around the room.
Last night was amazing. This morning when we woke up, we went home. Today's the day of the Luna ceremony and I was pretty stressed out. It's almost as if we're getting married but I'm not only marrying him but the whole pack too. So to say I was stressed would be an understatement.
"No one said you had to," Grayson told me.
"Who the fuck do they think they are turning up here?," I yelled. Grayson let out a deep breath.
"Calm down," he told me.
"Calm down?," I repeated before I widened my eyes. "You knew! You fucking knew and you didn't think to give me a heads up?"
"He needed permission to get onto pack grounds," he told me as he held his hands up, surrendering.
"I don't care," I growled out. A knock on the front door made me turn my head towards it. I looked at Grayson. "Go get it then!"
He walked off muttering something about my hormones being worse than normal and my stress level. I threw my body back on the couch. I just want to relax. Footsteps neared. "Alana," Grayson said slowly as if he was afraid of my reaction.
I turned my head to see who it was. "Oh fuck no," I said my voice going dangerously low. I stood up from the couch, facing Amber and Liam. "Get out of my house."
"We just want to talk," Liam said. I didn't say anything and just stared at them. After a moment of silence, I let out a frustrated sigh.
"I thought you said you wanted to talk," I snapped. Grayson stood beside me and wrapped an arm around me. Angrily, I shrugged his arm off. I can't believe he didn't tell me. Then he let them in the house after I said I didn't want to deal with their shit today. I shot Grayson an icy glare. He took a step back and glanced at the floor.
Nice to know who wears the pants in our relationship.
"I came because our parents died, Alana," Liam sighed out. "I have no other family except for you. I can't lose you."
"I don't want to lose you either," I told him honestly. It was just his mate I didn't like but I wasn't going to tell him that.
"I'm sorry," Amber spoke. "For what happened that night. I guess I was feeling emotional too. She was like a mom to me. I just wanted to feel close to her like you did."
I understand where she's coming from but it doesn't give her the right to go through my mothers clothes and wear them.
"I get it," I told her. "But you had no right to wear her clothes."
"Like I just said, she was like a mom to me."
"Yeah, but she wasn't your mom though, was she?," I asked. She stayed silent.
"Can we not argue?," Liam asked.
"If that's all you came here to say then can you leave? I have to get ready," I told them.
"Actually," Liam said. "That's not all. I want you to come back home." What?
"Wha-," Grayson began to say but I raised my hand up, signalling silence and that I can handle it. He took a a step forward and stood beside me.
"You have no right to demand that," I told him. "I'm with my mate and I'll continue to stay with him."
"I'm sorry," he sighed out. "It's just that we're having a baby and we want you to be here for it all."
"I have a life here," I told him, completely him disbelief for what he was asking of me.
"He rejected you!," Liam exclaimed. "What are you still doing with him? You can find your second chance mate. You don't need to be with him."
"I don't have one," I told him. "He did reject me but that's in the past and this is the future. We've moved on. He's my future."
"Just stop being so selfish!," he said loudly. "We want you with us. We want you to see our baby grow. We want you to help us. It's gonna be really hard without mom and dad here to help so I thought I'd ask you."
"I want you to get out," I told him. "I'm not being selfish I'm just putting myself first for once."
"Please just come home," he begged me.
I held Grayson's hand.
"I am home with my own little family."
