《Make it Stop [PJO Mortal AU]》Chapter 15

Semidio High, East Wing Hallway
The blonde-haired boy paled as he finally deciphered Piper's cryptic words from long ago. She, Piper McLean, daughter of the famous Tristan McLean, liked him, a random nobody? It was impossible, yet her words told otherwise. He put his head in his hands, his emotions a swirling maelstrom, only seconds from unleashing his suppressed feelings. He wanted to scream "WTF???!!?!" at the world, but people would stare, and that would do no good for his nonexistent popularity. Of course, he'd gained a bit of popularity by befriending Piper, yet add in the jealousy and it was balanced perfectly. Still a zer0.
The blonde-haired girl was grinning in triumph. This was the last day of school, the last PE lesson, and she'd just beat Clarisse LaRue at the hurdles. Victory is sweet, she thought, but that thought quickly disappeared, to be pondered about later. Maybe she and Percy could meet up that summer with their new friends somewhere, and who knows-? Maybe she'll even find love someday, too.
The kaleidoscopic-eyed girl gathered up her belongings, eager to escape the school's student body with their prying eyes. Her only regret was that she and her dad hadn't been on the best terms when she was last at home, and she had mixed feelings about that. She'd heard that Jason had figured out her words, but there was no time to think about that. She'd leave that subject for the summer, during which she hoped to get to know her new friends better. The girl was making plans for a summer barbecue when the last bell rang. Finally, summer!
Meanwhile, the spiky-haired girl was considering showing herself to her brother. They were at the same high school, sure, but she took every cautious step with the intention of not being seen by him. But she'd just graduated, and the past was now behind her. So maybe it was time to forgive and forget-well, as much as physically and mentally possible. Little did she know that the thought would create an emotional scene between her and her little brother. But the again, life is unpredictable-right turn here, sudden u-turn, left fork-who can read the future?

The green-eyed boy wasn't the most excited person for summer. He'd probably spend 75% of it being Gabe's servant-fetching beer, ordering food, setting up the poker table. Fun.
Yet the thought of Gabe didn't bring as much repulsion as he held for his stepfather before. Annabeth and the others had made a huge impact on his life, although they probably had no clue of what they did for him, because life is life, and it goes on. Next year, he'd graduate, and he would finally escape Gabe, maybe even buy his own house with his friends. But he had no idea of what was in store for him, because life is unpredictable. And with that thought, Perseus (Percy) Jackson walked out of Semidio High.

Child of the Ancients: An Apocalypse LitRPG
It all started in the middle of Dante's nap. He wanted to sleep his life away, but the system denied his request. Instead, it began to transform the Earth, integrating it into the multiverse by granting everyone stats and skills. He was talented, or so the system thought. And that meant he needed to be challenged. After being sent into a deadly cavern, Dante strives for the future he's always desired. But when he learns about the secrets hidden within him, he's shaken to his very core. He wishes for the nightmare to end until something goes wrong. [The world will end in one year.] Instead of everyone receiving a relatively gentle tutorial, the people of Earth are deemed redundant. Dante makes it his goal to save as many people as he can before the world ends, but with billions of lives at stake, he might have to turn into a monster before he can become a hero. Planned updates (2500+ words): M/W/F. 12pm AEST/ 9am EST. M-F during Writeathon. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Author's Note: All system apocalypse novels seem to jump straight over the apocalypse itself, which I find very sad. I don't want this to turn into a typical fantasy novel in about ten chapters. Instead, I hope to explore the destruction of society and how things would look if superpowers suddenly appeared in the real world. Before the real apocalypse happens, of course. There will be base building, and likely romance once things settle down. Also dragons, because they are awesome :)
