Halloween at Hogwarts was something else.

Of course, the Gryffindor common room had been transformed into a party by the time classes had ended, and seventh years had been using complex spells to stop even teachers from coming inside.

People didn't dress up in costumes though, instead we wore gowns and suits.

There would normally be a Halloween ball, but since last year we had visiting schools, and this year Umbridge had cancelled it due to it being 'unnecessary'.

So, everybody dressed up.

Even Minerva dressed up - she hated the toad of a teacher so decided she'd come and join in.

By join in she meant keep an eye out for any first years trying to swig something fire whiskey.

And she did provide the fire whiskey.

The party was in full swing when I went down there - Alicia had spilt Butterbeer on her dress just before the party started, so I helped clean her up.

As we went down, I saw Fred doing muggle karaoke with Lee and - surprisingly- Hermione. They were singing some indie song, and were completely out of harmony, but it somehow sounded perfect for the party.

All around the karaoke machine, people were dancing, drinking and talking.

Everything was going well, until I saw someone catch my eye.

It was Cho.

She was sat by herself in a corner, holding on to a mug of something, looking at her feet.

I quickly left Alicia, and danced over to her. Cho lifted her head, and her face was one of guilt and saddness.

"Hey Cho!" I said cheerily.

"Hey Y/N." Cho greeted me back, with a soft saddness in her voice.

I could see her holding something in her left hand, and then I recognised it. It was a moving picture of Cho and Cedric from just before the Hufflepuff vs Ravenclaw match.

They were both competing, but it was during our third year, and they weren't together, but flirting. The picture was currently folded in Cho's palm, and I could see why she was sad. She felt guilty for enjoying herself without Cedric.

I leaned forwards, putting my hand on her shoulder and pulling her into a hug.

"You know he'd want you to have fun, not mope around all day - don't feel guilty Cho." I said, hugging her tighter.

"It just feels like I shouldn't - it feels like I should still be sad." She whispered into my shoulder, nearly crying.

I pulled back, and looked her in the eyes.

"Cedric would never want you to be sad." I told her, and a small smile came on her face.

"Now come on Chang", I said, pulling her arms towards the dance floor. "We've got some partying to do!"

And with that, I dragged Cho towards the middle of the common room, and made her forget all the pain and grief, and helped her feel like any other 16 year old.

I have been the worlds worst author but I have exams atm!

This is also the worlds shortest chapter ever but I wanted to kinda make Minerva more fun just so it builds up for future chapters!

I might write a super long chapter for the next one, and the end of the Halloween ball/ party will be in it for sure :)

that's where we get drunk Lee and drunk Lee is the best!

Also tysm for 6k that's actually insane! Writing this has helped me get back into story writing and helped me prep for my exams ;)

and I'm hopefully getting an A and it wouldn't be without the help of you guys!
