TW: mild alcohol consumption
Consider following?
"I didn't think you had it in you."
George POV
After the bandages, Dream unfortunately decided to put the shock collar back on. I was really hoping he'd forget about that.
Around 5 is when Dream walked in with a stack of board games in his arms which towered above his head.
I laughed lightly at the sight of him slowly and steadily walking in hopes of preventing the excessive number of boxes from falling over and crashing to the ground. "What are those for?" I asked Dream as he slowly lowered the stack to the ground.
"Board games." He answered. "Despite not having many guests, I have a ton of them. Wanna choose which one we play first?" He asked with wide smile. Something that seems to show up more and more as time passes. It was... Unexpected? But definitely nice at the same time.
I hope I see that more often.
I nodded my head, returning the smile before crawling across the floor where he set the colorful boxes and began to look through them for a game that peaked my interest. I settled on a game I had never seen before but looked interesting and Dream began to set out the board and teach me how to play.
Around 7 (2 hours after that) is when Dream got up from his seat on the ground which is where the board game was laid out between us. When he did this, he also decided to pick me up too.
"Dream? Where are we going, it's only like 7?" I asked, assuming he'd be bringing me back to the basement to go to sleep.
The blond let out a one syllable chuckle and held me closer. "We're not going to the basement. I'm gonna make you a drink." He said. I could feel the aura of the smile he let break loose in the final word.
"Drink? What do you mean?" I asked feeling both confused and oblivious.
"Whatever you want it to mean. It could mean a martini, a shot of vodka, a classic beer. I know how to make a few drinks so-" I cut him off. "Wait wait wait. Alcohol?" I sputter out in half disbelief.
"I mean yeah, unless you'd rather have a kool-aid or something- wait no, we ran out of that ages ago, oh no-" "OH YEAHHHHH" "No no, alcohol is fine, I just- wasn't expecting that is all..." I trailed off and Dream set me on the bar stool facing the kitchen behind the island.

"Well then, what do you want me to make?" Dream asked as he started opening up cabinets taking things out left and right.
"Um- I don't really know any fancy drinks or anything so... Surprise me?" I said with little confidence in my words.
"Oooh, you're in for a treat."
>insert sexy bartender moves here<
He tossed bottles left and right and I had to say, it was pretty impressive. In the end he came up with a small glass of purplish liquid that smelled heavily of alcohol and a mixture of other flavors.
"What is this?" I asked, looking up from the drink and to Dream. "Dunno, haven't thought of a name for it yet. I made it a while ago when I was just sort of messing around and thought it was pretty good. Try it." Dream urged as he watched intently, waiting for me to take a sip.
I slowly rose the glass to my lips that contained a dark plum colored liquid with a lemon slice on the side. I took a small breath and pressed my lips to the glass and took a tiny sip before setting it back down.
"Wow." Is all that left my lips in astonishment.
"How was it?" Dream asked.
There was a short pause before I responded. "Strong." Was all I said before taking another, slightly larger sip.
Time Skip 2 hours
We currently sit on the floor playing Uno with various other board and card games scattered around us that we'd been playing earlier for the past few hours. In those past few hours we also may or may not have had another drink or two. And though I was a little skeptical, the drinks Dream managed to make were too enticing to turn away.
Currently though, it's around night time and I couldn't seem to wipe the mischievous grin on my face as I gazed at the 3 'draw 4' cards in my hand along with a skip and 2 red cards.
"What's got you smiling so much?" Dream asked with a grin. I only shook my head and hugged my hand of cards to my chest.
"Ooh~ hiding something are we?" Dream laughed before leaning over, trying to see my cards. "Nothing, shoo, get away." I giggled and leaned back while holding the cards to my chest in attempt to hide them.

"Oh," Dream said, leaning back into the spot he had previously sat at on the floor. "well if that's the case and you have nothing, then that means you have no chance of winning anyways so you won't mind me doing this..." He trailed down and picked up a card from his hand and slamming it down on the cards.
My eyes eagerly glued themselves to his hand and waited impatiently for him to remove his palm so I could see what he had put down.
It couldn't be that bad right? Worst it could be is a +4, which would really only be an unfortunate setback.
He slowly, almost teasingly removed lifted his hand and I leaned closer to see the card.
My eyes widened when I saw one of those blank cards, the ones where you can write whatever you want on it.
I didn't even know those kind were in the deck!
I start to panic a little, hoping that it won't be something completely and utterly ridiculous like 'draw 25' or something else that would completely destroy my chances at winning.
The letters are drawn in sharpy and part of it is slightly smudged in the top left corner.
I sigh.
"Really, Dream?" I growled as I looked up from the card to see Dream smirking.
"It's your choice, George. Draw the whole deck or kiss one of your opponents. It's really not that hard." The words left his lips as if he rehearsed it.
"Dream. You're my only opponent. I'm gonna have to kiss you." I say, though I knew that was probably his intentions.
"I mean, you don't have to, you can always just pick up the whole deck." Dream said teasingly.
I sighed deeply.
Too bad I'm a sucker for winning.
As much as I'd love to blame my next actions on the bit of alcohol I've had tonight, I wouldn't take it back one bit.
I lean forward and across the pile of cards in the middle of the two of us.
Against every instinct my intoxicated brain was letting out, I pushed that aside and closed the space between us and pressed my lips against his for a small second before slowly pulling away. And that simple action had us both smirking for different reasons.
"I didn't think you had it in you." Dream said lowly, our faces still inches apart. I just let out a breathy, small laugh before holding my hand up beside my face which held 3 cards put together to make them look like one,
His eyes darted to my hand and he widened at the sight of only one of the draw four cards, however my eyes stayed trained on the blonds expression as I quickly spread my fingers to reveal the 2 other draw four cards behind it.
"Oh you little shit-" I cut him off before he could continue. "I think I'm going to go with red, it matches your face right now." He blushes even more as I slowly back away before setting my cards on the pile and Dream begrudgingly started drawing his 12 cards from the deck.
I just giggled and we went back to playing like nothing happened.
Time Skip
After a few more rounds of games and a few more rounds of shots, we decided it would be best for us to head to bed.
"Alrighty, its bed bed time~" Dream slurred out being twice as drunk as me. "MMnn noo, I don't wanna go down to the basementtt." I whined. Okay. Maybe twice is a bit of an exaggeration.
"Oh no no no, don't worry Gogy, you don't have to go down there tonight." Dream finished with a giggle.
"Really? Why?" I asked, the alcohol suddenly less obvious in my voice despite the liquid still heavily being in my system. "Because..." Dream suddenly leaned down to my level and whispered in my ear. I could have sworn I felt his lips touch my ear for a moment. "I don't think your sanity can take the screams." The low whispered words left an odd feeling in my stomach. Or maybe that's the alcohol. Hard to tell.
"What do you mean?" I asked confused, my mushy brain not being able to make any sense of the situation whatsoever.
"Nothing that concerns you." Dream stood back up straight and picked me up and began to carry me to his room.

This is my first story to ever be posted. As I am an amateur writer, there shall be mistakes. More so with the fact that English is not my first language. This story is a re-write, and its original version was a request by a dear friend of mine. Though hopefully this version would be far better.. As the original version was a very cringe worthy thing. Many thanks to certain friends that have convinced me to post this. I shall do my best to at least update frequently, without sacrificing the.. quality of chapters. Tags will be added as the story goes on. || Disclaimer: Much of the chapters before Chapter Twelve are of poorer quality in terms of Grammar. So do forgive me for them, by Chapter Twelve and beyond however, the quality of the chapters should have had improved. I'm hopefully gonna fix most of the earlier chapters when I hit Chapter Twenty or Thirty.

On the frontier, Cadryn will discover that neither his campions, nor the Neeft itself, are what he expects. Follow Cadryn on his journey to discover many truths: about himself, about the Empire, and about the very world he call home. ****** Keepers of the Neeft is a (bit dark) fantasy story revolving around Cadryn and his journey of discovery. There’s a fairly wide cast of supporting characters (his fellow Keepers) all with their own reasons and motivations behind how they came to be at the Neeft. Current release plan is to have part 2 completed, then fully edit up till the end of part 2. I am in the process of editing the earlier content as I complete the updates/re-writes. Apologies for any rough content in the meantime. My primary objective with Keepers of the Neeft is to work on developing content flow and establishing a community of people who enjoy my writing style. I write SF/F and horror as my primary genres, Keepers is actually my 3rd novel length work, but my current project. Updates of new Content will currently be in the form of one larger post on Tuesdays.
