《Outlander》Chapter 20

Seeing Clint strapped down at the bed as I watch over him, averting my eyes away, staring at the sleeping Rivia at the other bed. Clint woke up and shook his head.
"Clint, you're gonna be alright." I said as Clint tightly clenched his fist, "You know that? Is that what you know? I got...I gotta flush him out." He mumbled, breath uneven.
Standing up, pouring water on a plastic cup, "It's gonna take time." I stated, "You don't understand. Have you ever had someone take your brain and play? Pull you out and stuff something else in? Do you know what it's like to be unmade?" He asked, looking up and breathing heavily.
Looking at him, "You know that I do." I replied as our eyes met, "Why am I back? How did you get him out?" He asked as I nodded my head towards Rivia.
"Well, after Rivia removed the mind control. I punched you really hard." I answered as Clint furrowed his eyebrows and looked at Rivia.
"Our soulmate?" He asked as I nodded my head, Clint looked at her with remorseful expression, "Did I hurt her?" He asked.
"No." I replied, "Thanks." He said as our eyes met. Clint leaned forward and placed a kiss on my forehead. As I unfastened the restraints.
"Tasha, how many agents?" He asked as I rested my hand on his face, "Don't. Don't do that to yourself, Clint." I quickly replied as he leaned to my touch.
"This is Loki. This is monsters and magic and nothing we were ever trained for. And he's our soulmate." I added, "Loki, he got away?" He asked, "He surrendered, but the scepter was stolen. Turns out he was also under the influence of the stone inside the scepter." I replied.
"Let me guess. She freed him too?" He asked and looked at Rivia, smiling as my eyes found the sleeping Rivia, "Yes. She's... beautiful and has some powers." I replied as Clint looked at me, confusion prominent in his eyes.
"Powers?" He asked, "She freed you and Loki from the control of the scepter and she healed me." I responded as Clint nodded his head.
"Apparently, he has an army. And we gotta stop it." I said as he nodded his head, "Yeah? Who's we?" He asked and leaned his head on my shoulder.
"I don't know. Whoever's left." I replied, "Well, if I put an arrow in Loki's eye socket. I'd sleep better, I suppose." He mumbled as I chuckled.
"Now you sound like you." I teased, "But you don't. You're a spy, not a soldier. Now you want to wade into a war. Why? What did Loki do to you?" He asked, seriously.
"He didn't, I just..." I paused and looked away, Clint faced me and gently grabbed my face, "Baby." He mumbled, "I've been compromised. I got red in my ledger. I'd like to wipe it out." I answered.

Hearing someone grunt, Clint and I looked at Rivia as she was beginning to wake up.
☘
Slowly opening my eyes, hearing voices, grunting and placing a hand on my head.
"зайка" turning towards the voice, seeing Nat and Clint looking at me worriedly. I reached my hand and placed it on Clint's face, "You're back." I muttered as he gave me a smile.
"Thanks to you, sunshine." He said as I looked at Nat, seeing how she bit her lips, preventing herself from crying. "Ginger, you're okay." I mumbled, "This is the second time you fainted." She said, tone slightly angry.
"How are the others? Loki?" I asked, "We're dead in the air up here. Loki is still inside his cell, but Bruce and Thor." She said as I already knew what she was pertaining to.
Nodding my head as I slowly get up. Clint and Nat quickly helped me, looking at Clint as I roamed my eyes on his body, seeing cuts on his arms and face.
"Let me heal you." I said and hovered my hand to him. Clint held my hand as our eyes met.
"You've just woke up." He said as I smiled at him. "I can manage." I replied and continued to heal him.
Seconds later, hearing rushed footsteps. Steve and Tony appeared looking at me worriedly, "Tonton. Steve." I said as they immediately approached me.
Tony engulfed me in a hug, "Bunny, don't ever do that again." He mumbled as I looked at Steve and smiled.
"I'm glad you're awake, princess." Steve said as I winked at him, "I'm stronger than I look, Captain." I replied, seeing a faint blush on his cheeks and hearing Clint and Nat snicker.
Tony gently caressed my face, as our eyes met, "I will be careful next time, Tonton. I promise. But we really have to go now. Dr. Selvig is probably setting up the portal upon the rooftop of your tower. And let Loki help us." I firmly said, "How did you know that?" He asked as I shrugged my shoulders.
Tony lightly tapped my nose, "But no. You will stay here." He said as I looked at Steve, averting his eyes away. I looked at Clint and Nat as they also averted their eyes away.
Poking the inside of my cheeks with my tongue, "I will help you." I argued as four of them looked at me, "No." They said in unison as my eyes widened.
"I felt betrayed." I mumbled as Clint chuckled, "I will help you. Whether you'll let me or not." I said, determination in my voice.
"I can teleport right there and end this right now, with or without your help." I threatened as they glared at me, Steve sighed as our eyes met.
Raising my eyebrow, "Time to go." He said as I triumphantly smiled, "Seriously?" Tony asked, disbelievingly.

Kissing his forehead, "Let's go, Tonton. I wouldn't want to miss this party." I said as I looked at Natasha and wiggled my eyebrows.
Seeing her smirk, hearing Clint chuckled and Tony heaved a sigh, "We will let you if you'll stick around any of us." Tony said as I excitedly nodded my head.
"Can you fly one of those jets?" Steve asked, "I can." Clint replied, Steve looked at Natasha as she nodded her head to confirm Clint's on our side.
"You got a suit?" Steve asked, "Yeah." Clint replied, "Then suit up." Steve said and left, but not before placing a kiss on our foreheads.
Smiling at his gesture, I stood up and got ready.
☘
"You are not authorized to be here..." Steve quickly interrupts him, "Son... just don't." Steve said as I bit my lips to stifle a laugh.
"Where's Loki?" I asked, "I'm here, darling." He replied and appeared beside me.
Clint aims his arrows at him, Nat points her gun at him, and Steve puts up his shield. "Hey, it's okay. He will help us." I said as Loki placed a hand on my lower back.
"How did you know that?" Clint asked, glaring at Loki, "He's our soulmate. Put your weapons down." I stated sternly.
Steve heaved a sigh and approached us, my breath hitched as he patted Loki's shoulder, "As long as you won't do that ever again." He said as I smiled.
Clint and Nat looked at each other, putting their weapons down, but still cautious towards Loki.
Looking at Loki as our eyes met, nodding my head and lightly patting his cheeks, "Everything will be okay." I mumbled as he nodded his head and the jet departed.
"If the scepter was stolen and Loki is here. Who's using it right now?" I mumbled, "I have to teleport towards the tower right now." I said as four of them looked at me, "No." Steve said.
"That will be dangerous for you to go alone." Nat stated, "We don't know who's wielding it right now." Loki added as Clint nodded his head.
"But..." Steve looked at me as I exhaled a sigh, "No means no, princess." He said as I nodded my head.
"Yeah. Listen to us, bunny." Tony said, through the earpiece. "Stark, we're on your three, headed northeast." Natasha said.
"What, did you stop for drive-thru? Swing up park. I'm gonna lay 'em out for you." Tony replied.
Natasha takes out the machine gun and fires at the Chitauri. As Clint and Nat continued to control the jet, we headed towards the tower, seeing Thor and an unknown guy fighting.
"Who is that?" I muttered, "See them." Nat announced and Clint aimed the gun at the guy. The guy then aims the scepter at the Quinjet and fires a blast of energy. Clint maneuvers one wing of the jet as it soon catches on fire, spinning and slowly dropping out of the air as it passes over the skyscrapers.
With Loki firmly holding me, the jet slams into the street. Gasping, "Anyone okay?" I asked as they nodded their heads with everyone okay, Clint and Nat unfasten their seatbelts and opened the ramp.
Steve runs down with the four of us following behind him. Arriving in the middle of a four-way street. A deep, primal, rage bellows out, with that roar a shadow comes over exiting the portal.
My eyes widened as a Leviathan passed above us. Looking up, from both sides, Chitauri soldiers cling off and attach themselves to the sides of the buildings, sliding down. Some crash into buildings and begin firing at innocent people.
"Tony, are you seeing this?" Steve asked, "Seeing. Still working on believing. Where's Bruce? Has he shown up yet?" Tony replied, "Bruce?" Steve asked, furrowing his eyebrows, "Just keep me posted. And be careful, all of you." He responded.
Looking up, seeing the unknown guy riding a chariot and firing at the street in a chain of explosions.
"They're fish in a barrel down there." Steve said, Chitauri soldiers landed near us and began firing at us.
Grabbing my dagger, firmly holding it. I stand up and begin teleporting behind them and swiftly slicing their throats.
Teleporting back at them,as Loki looked at me surprisingly with wide eyes.
"We got this. It's good. Go!" Natasha said, four more Loki's appear and attack the Chitauri.
"You think you can hold them off?" Steve asked, "It would be my genuine pleasure." Clint replied, winking at Steve, smiling at them as Clint shot an arrow into the Chitauri's head.
Steve then jumps down the bridge, he races over to the plaza, jumping over dozens of exploding cars. Running over a bus full of people. From the windows, I started to assist small children pulling them out to safety.
Clint runs over to the jammed door and jerks it open. People began to run out. Nat, Clint, and Loki continue to attack the Chitauri.
"Just like Budapest all over again!" Nat said as she emptied out her clips, "You and I remember Budapest very differently." Clint replied, firing arrows into the Chitauri, hitting his mark each time he shoots.
"What happened in Budapest?" I asked, "Later." Clint replied, "I've gotta go help Steve." I stated as they nodded their heads, "Be careful, darling." Loki said as I nodded my head, winked at him and teleported towards Steve's location.
