Love is a decision not just a feeling Learn to love not to fall in love
「️♔️」️
My head is pounding like someone was hitting it with a sledgehammer, I opened my eyes begrudgingly as I scan my surroundings, it was dark themed yet it was pristine and beautiful, it had dark wallpapers, dark couches and even the sheets of the bed that I am currently laying on is dark.
The memories of what had happened surged through me as I jolt up straight, Damien and Lily, Dimitri and his scary and pointed needle.
The only thing that I need to do was to escape, I stood up with shaky legs but managed to stand up straight, and then I paced around the room back and forth, trying to come up with escape plans, walking around makes me concentrated.
I then tried to open the locked door, hoping that it was unlocked but fate seemed to hate me as it was tightly locked, even if I pulled it with all my heart and soul.
“Ugh” I said in frustration and thought if this was how Dimitri felt when he was frustrated with me. I tried to find another exit. I went towards the window and opened it, this could be my way out of here, I looked down and my heart dropped as I widen my eyes.
The thing that I hate about me was my fear of heights, me and heights never get along with each other so when I looked down and found out that I was that high from the ground, I wanted to puke. There was no way I could survive this fall and even if I would- that would take a miracle – I wouldn’t get far before they catch up to me.
I went towards the door and just like déjà vu repeated itself once again, I pounded my fist on the door, much like when I was captured by Jace and his men and when I met my mate. Thinking about Damien brought tears to my eyes; I fought the deep urge to cry as I pounded on the door desperately.
“Let me out of here you bloodsucking creatures! I demand an explanation in this shenanigan! No! I demand a valid and acceptable reason for this treachery that I am in!” I banged and banged my fists at the door hoping that they would open it and it would make an opportunity for me to make a dash and escape. I know that there is a guard at the other side of the door who is just standing there looking all tough and strong.
“I know that there is someone out there! I could hear your breathing! I demand you, as Queen of the Werewolf Kingdom to release me right now!” I demanded, using my Alpha voice but too bad it only works on Werewolves, I only sound like a baby protesting.

“Hey!” I screamed at the top of my voice as I lean my head on the door, giving up.
“I give up!” I threw my hands in the air as I step away from the door and suddenly the door and Dimitri came in, in all his ‘Oh so awesome’ glory, as if. Damien makes a hotter and more glorious entrance than he ever will.
I try and dodge right past him and make a run towards the door but he quickly grabbed my elbow, locking it with his hand.
“Now, where do you think you are going?” he asks coyly as he cocks an eyebrow.
“To the damn kitchen to get a snack or meal because I am damn hungry and someone was clearly not giving me any food. Oh and maybe I want to take a tour on the exit ways of this Castle, how’s that for an answer?” I asked his rhetorical question with my own sarcastic answer.
“Stop being feisty, it turns me on so much. It really tempts me to mark you” he murmurs trying to sound seductive as he comes closer to me.
I snort at him, “In case you are blind, I am already marked and mated” I stated the obvious and at my answer his eyes start to turn red.
“Oh, but there is a way to get rid of it, you must know this right?” he asks as he smirks at me devilishly, I widen my eyes as I gulped the bile that was trying to come out.
I cover my mark with both my hands from his scrutinizing eyes.
“Don’t you dare think about it!” I yelled at him as I pointed a finger in his direction.
“Oh, but there is a difference between thinking and doing it, isn’t there? Now come on, let’s feed that stomach of yours” he said, his smirk still intact as he grabs my hand and pulled me.
“I’d rather go famished and die in hunger before I eat with you” I spat venomously as I tug back my hand. Thankfully he didn’t reply as he headed the both of us in the dining room.
I tried with all my might to claw my hand out of his hold but there was no use in trying.
As breakfast was being served, I glared at Dimitri with all that I have. Throughout the breakfast I just eyed at the food in front of me, not daring to eat it, who knows what poison he might have added into it?
Dimitri sighed as he looked up from eating, “You need to eat, you’re going to need all the energy you need for laters’ activity” he said, an innuendo hidden beneath his sentence.

“If I eat will you let me go?” I asked hopingly.
“I thought I have said this before? I will never let you go, you are mine and you will only be mine” he growled out.
“And if you don’t want to eat then don’t” he said as he took a sip from his goblet full of blood. Disgusting.
“I will” I tipped my head in insolence.
After breakfast Dimitri called another man.
“Call in Elizabeth and tell her that I need her to come here at once” he said monotonously. I wonder who Elizabeth is?
As if Dimitri heard my thoughts he cocked his head to the side and answered my unanswered question, “She will be of great importance to us; she will be the one to get rid of that mark you bear. Ever heard of her? She is the only witch in the whole world who could cast a spell to remove a mark” I was mortified, he really is serious about all of this? How could he even defy fate? The nature of all mates? How cruel could he truly be? What would he even get from all of this?
“I will not let you remove my mark!” I stood firmly against him as I narrow my eyes.
“His mark on your skin disgusts me, but do not worry, I will make you have my mark” he barked out angrily, I shivered just thinking about it.
“You can never succeed, all antagonists fail in the end” I said as I crossed my arms against my chest, trying to sound and look unaffected. Then a woman entered the room as if she owned the place, she had a dark aura revolving around her, she has straight black hair, she has a tall figure and she has grey eyes, even her clothes are painted in dark colors.
“You called?” she asks flatly, as if she was already bored. Dimitri cleared his throat before he glanced at me before he then gave his attention to the woman, or Elizabeth as he calls her.
“This is Scarlett” he gestured to me in which I glared up at him.
“She is the one I am talking about, and apparently my stepbrother already claimed her and marked her. I want that mark to be removed” he said bluntly as he pointed to my hand covered neck.
“Of course, take her to the room” she instructed as she walked out of the room.
Dimitri came closer to me and pulled me out of my seat and dragged me to an unfamiliar place.
“Let me go!” was what I was screaming as he dragged me with him.
“Be quiet!” he yelled at me which made me whimper a little but fought again.
“Be quiet or I will make you!” Elizabeth screeched as we reached the room as they speak.
“Go to hell!” I spat at her.
“You are already in hell, my dear” she smiled wickedly at me.
“Are you sure this is her? She is such a pain in the ass” she spoke to Dimitri as if I wasn’t there with them.
“Chain her up against the wall, I will just go and get my equipment ready” Dimitri nodded as he dragged me- who is kicking and screaming – and grabbed both my arms as he quickly tied me to the chains that are connected to the walls, he also chained my legs against the wall.
Elizabeth came back and this time she was holding candles and something else, she placed the candles around me like a circle and she also spread sand around me in a weird shape. Tears were falling from my eyes as I both plead them to let me go.
“W-what are you do-oing?” I asked, my voice wavering as I tremble in fear.
“This will hurt” was her simple and blunt answer, she didn’t even sugar coat her words.
She sat herself as she crossed both her legs together in an Indian style, she breathed in and out as she relaxed herself which was ironic because I was anything but, Elizabeth then started to murmur words as her hair stood up and the candles lit up, she stood up as she opened her eyes to reveal two white pools staring at me as she held a knife and sliced a cut from my hand. I winced at the sight of blood and from the stinging pain.
She gathered the blood in a small potion bottle as she went back to her sitting position and poured three drops of my blood at the center of her disfigured shape. I was heaving heavily, my breaths were uneven as I anticipated the outcome.
She then shouted out the words, “Es trubetes mí caloes es paritá”
Then I screamed from the agonizing pain as I felt something fall from my eyes and this time it was thicker than tears, for blood was pouring out from my eyes.

The Stormcrow Cycle
Once a powerful and lauded witch, Ba'an salu-Ba'an now lives alone in a cave in the desert, waiting to die. When she rescues an outlander from certain death she becomes embroiled in a deadly game of politics and empire, of heart and soul, but worst of all--of hope and love and a chance at a peaceful future. Can a disgraced witch find a reason to live her life again--and if so, what price must she pay? The Stormcrow Cycle is a trilogy comprising of The Exile, The Lion, and Abomination. Tags or genres for each book: The Exile: romance, slice-of-life The Lion: romance, slice-of-life, politics Abomination: tragedy, high/epic fantasy (aka "Everything is on fire!") Updates once a week whenever I have time. Cross-posted on Wattpad and Scribble Hub. The CBMokedi cover will return! Excerpt: She looked down at him again. Young. Healthy, from what she could see, except for the wound that was killing him. He was handsome in a way that suggested a life of wealth and plenty. She did not think he had ever starved. Someone important. Her shadow fell across him, and he frowned. Blearily, he opened his eyes. They were amber and bright, even as he lay dying in the dirt. She could feel his soul, blazing inside of him like a fire refusing to die even as his body began to fail. He met her gaze, eyes widening in what she guessed was surprise—or shock. But he never looked away, staring up at her as though transfixed. Ba’an made her decision. She raised her hand and covered his eyes. In another moment, a murder of crows cawed as they took wing. The man and woman were gone from the road, leaving only the dead staring up into the sky. Note: This is a high-fantasy set in a low-magic world. The first book is largely character-driven and we really only hit the real plot in Book II, so if you're not fond of long epic yarns you ought to skip this one. I also don't include trigger warnings, but mind the "traumatizing content" tag--all societies minus one practice slavery and the world is indeed, rather grim!
