it chills me in wisps
as I stand among the fields.
The sky is still gray...
but fades away
as the light of the dawn arises.
No one is up...
and I sip from my cup
as daybreak fills the darkness.
I never liked the mornings...
but rather, the dawning's
of the sun as it filled the sky.
Colors erupt...
from the mountaintop,
penetrating the darkest of hours.
I can't help but think...
how Amaris would blink
in awe of the beautiful daybreak.
