《Ned (The weakest species)》Chapter 1 : Time skip

Year 5150,
I was asleep for two hours.
My instinct tells me that I need to wake up.
I immediately open my eyes and look above my head. I see a raindrop falling toward me.
If it is the same logic on earth. When the raindrops start to fall down, it will start to rain. When that happens, we should cover our head using our hands or, if you have an umbrella, use it to avoid getting wet.
But, that logic doesn’t apply on this planet. The raindrop that's falling toward my head, its size was about as the large as mansion.
Just before the raindrop hit me.
Slash!!
I swiftly drew my sword from my scabbard and cut the raindrop in two. I could have easily evaded it if I wanted to, since I move faster than the speed of sound. But I chosen not to, since the raindrops kept bothering me while I was sleeping and It really pissed me off.
Yawn!
“Ahhhh! I want to sleep more,” I yelled. Then I sheathed my sword.
Suddenly I realize, even my survival instinct is different from before. My mood suddenly lifts up and I can't contain myself.
A glance at my surroundings brings me back to the present.
Sigh! The habitat here is horrible. I can't see any living creatures, even the plants are all dead.
The environment is full of fog and smoke and it's very, very cold, but I can still see my surroundings since the two moons in the sky give this planet some light.
When I was still on Earth, the personnel gave me some information about this planet. If I remembered, this planet is called Joseph101. The distance from Earth is approximately 250 million kilometers. I arrived here 2 hours ago.

I'm really fast. I can reach a quarter of the speed of light. Because of the urgency of my mission I rushed to arrive here, which exhausted my body and mind. That's the reason I immediately went to sleep, in order to rest and recover my depleted mana and energy.
I could have traveled here without wasting energy and mana, but it would have taken many days using a capsule or spaceship.
If I used those methods, I would have been too late. Even if I arrived just a little bit late, all of the humans living on this planet would have been killed and this place would benothing but ruins, since the dragons will arrive here soon.
Even though this place is horrible, there are still many people who live here. The human population here is approximately 100 thousand, unlike Earth right now, which has around 5 billion people.
Our population decreased by a third of its original number because of the invasion of monsters, dragons, and other lifeforms.
I raise my right arm and look at my watch, there are 2 buttons on the left and right side. I click the right button and a second later a projection(11) of city appears above my watch. It’s 1500k ahead. Hence, I just walk straight from here.
I continued walking while dodging those raindrops. Even though I'm walking, I'm still faster than the speed of sound.
Fifteen minutes pass and now, from where I'm standing, I can see a tremendous mana barrier surrounding the city five kilometers away.
Then I cast a small amount of mana on my feet and mouth before I murmur "accelerate."
I instantly arrive outside the city.
It feels like I blinked because I'm so fast.

Unstable and weakened, will he be more hindrance than help? Can he become the warrior he once was?A Monk and a Monkey journey across a world...... where the remnants of technology are seen as magic, while pockets of humanity strive to drag themselves out of ignorance.... where the descendants of animal-human hybrids, once created as instruments of war, now seek to dominate the world as demons.... where beings who call themselves Immortals and Gods preoccupy themselves with selfish pastimes, ignoring everything else. Among other things, a story about growth, grit, and being better than the person you were yesterday. Here's my rambling on why I'm writing Journey West 5000. Journey West 5000 is my crazy ambitious writing project to adapt a classic epic called "Journey to the West" for a global, modern audience. It's a sci-fi story disguised as fantasy, and has some road trip + monster of the week elements (as does the original Journey to the West). No system, definitely no harem, gradual power progression. Hmm, what else can I put here so potential readers know what to expect? My writing style for now is mostly "show don't tell", because I believe that readers don't need to have everything pointed out to them, and that they should be allowed to make up their own minds about characters based on the actions of those characters. I'm also trying to be less long-winded (a weakness pointed out by some friends) in order to write according to something Neil Gaiman said, which is to write as though I'm the one who has to pay for every word, not the reader. This will bring down my chapter word counts, and might drive away potential readers, but I believe there's value in learning to compress and be concise. All chapters posted here will have been edited. Constructive criticism, comments, and feedback would be very much welcome and appreciated. Please, please help point out any typos or grammatical mistakes, I'm striving to minimize those as much as possible. Above all, I hope you enjoy my story.

The Dragons Predicament
Monsters, humans, war. Within their shielded cities of Technomagi, the humans live their lives in small boxes. Only venturing out of their bubbles with gunslingers or mages trained to defend against the beasts outside. Teleportation to other cities is normal, done through square boxes on rails that are housed underground. These days, the disparity between humans and us has grown to a breaking point. In a single night: an entire nation of monsters vanished. A cloud and flash of light that all had seen. Only the strongest could survive against their might and stubborn ingenuity. Those terrifying, amazing humans. We had laughed at first. ‘What possible danger is there? They’re just humans’. That was centuries ago by this point, of course. We all realized the moment we saw that metal tube fall. There is something that only a human can accomplish, through their ability to see light even in the darkest situation. You don’t win against humans. You either die with them or live to serve them.
