“…”
“Bosses give so much loot…”
“3 more levels until level 10… so long…”
“Let’s see…ego sword…”
“W-WHAT! 250K EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR ITS NEXT LEVEL!”
“…”
“Well, that to be expected an ego sword is supposed to be hard and long to level up. If it goes by a 50 times multiplier that means that next level, I would need…12.5 mil exp…”
“Long run….Mylo…think about the long run… you’ll be unmatched when you reach its maximum level.”
“What about thorns? I like the name though.”
------------------------------
Thorns: your first basic attack will ‘maim’ the specific body part that has been hit.
*Maim: part of the body is permanently damaged; restricting the enemy movement and usage of said body part. (Cannot reapply the ‘thorn’ effect on the same opponent if it manages to dispel the status.)
-------------------------------
“Is every unlocked stat related to plants? Well, I guess there’s a reason why the cross guard is shaped like a rose.”
“Well, I’m not complaining, the skill is OP. I'm only level 7 and can already cripple a monster body part with my first basic attack.”
“What else did I get? Random box?”
-------------------------
Name: Random accessory Box Lvl.15
Rank:E ~ SSS
Requirement: None
Use: Randomly acquire a (LEVEL 15) accessory item of a random rarity with the highest probability being ‘E’ and the lowest ‘SSS’.

Name: Stealth Ring
Rank: C
Level Requirement: 15
Stats:
*+ 3 AGI
*Gain the Passive skill ‘Stealth Lvl 1’ (E RANK).
Stealth: Basic skill given to those who choose the Rogue’s path; Increase effect of hiding and sneaking by 15%.
-CANNOT LEVEL SKILL BECAUSE OF ITEM RESTRICTION-
--------------------------
“Are you serious? That means that If I decide to go to the warrior’s path and equip the ring I gain a rogue class skill without being one.”
“And that’s considered a C rank item? To me it looks like an SSS rank item.”
“Shame I can’t use it now to evade that ‘thing’ tracking capability.”
“BUT I CAN’T WAIT TO BE LEVEL 15! CRIMSON SWIFT BOOTS + STEALTH RING. I’m already an assassin without even being one.”
“Time to move on.”
[You have used Sage’s dahlia flower]
[-1 Sage’s dahlia flower]
After Mylo rested to recover his missing health, he walked a few metres away from the tree that the snake used to hide from its prey. He planted the Sages flower and Instead of saving it, he decided to use its special characteristic. By planting the flower, Mylo is able to first bring the ‘unknown beast’ to this specific location, even though he has to kill any normal mob that comes close to it. And secondly he will be able to hide his stench from the mark by making use of the flowers odour in order to confuse the beast senses.

“…”
Mylo was currently on top of the tree that the snake used to hide. The thick branches and leaves allowed the gigantic snake to hide itself without Mylo realizing. The effect where increased significantly when a small human was the one hiding in it.
Less than an hour passed. But still nothing. Mylo wondered why there wasn’t any movement from at least the common beast around the area.
“What’s going on? Is the flower even working?”
*Shudder*
“Huh?”
The sudden movement of the bushes leaves surprised Mylo, the bush was shaking intensely. A shadow emerged out of the bush. It was a boar; its size was almost double the one of the common boar around the area. By the look of it size one could easily guess that it was an elite boar. But what intrigued Mylo wasn’t the boar suddenly emerging from the bushes but its current appearance. The boar has claw marks around its stomach area and even his left eye area was carved out by a strong claw attack.

Name: Valsea Brown Boar (Elite)

HP: 142/2000

“What! Tracking stench? That means his being cha-“
“ROAAARRRRR”
[You have been affected by the ‘Fear’ status; cannot move for 4 seconds and movement speed lowered by 20% for 30 seconds. ]
“W-What!”
The Boar ran at an incredible speed, even passing right past the sage’s flower. Its life was more important than a puny flower. But the sudden roar complete stopped it momentum, falling head first into the soil below him.
*BAM*
“?”
*BAM*
*BAM*
“What the HELL IS THAT!”
The noise Mylo heard was the foot step of a monstrosity. Jagged horns decorate its head, which itself is covered by fur all over. The face of a gorilla was attached to it. Its rounded head sits atop of a big, furry body, similar to that of a Bear. An odd turtle like shell covers its torso and back. The Strange Creature moves forward slowly, each step stomping the soil, leaving behind crevices. Its four legs carry its unknown body with ease. A massive tail glides behind him, its movement, colour and shape is reminiscent of that of a skunk. Toxic smog escapes the creature's tail as it walks towards the boar.
The Boar entire body was trembling from fear. Weak, hurt and exhausted it couldn’t defend itself anymore reaching this point cost him all its remaining strength. The Creature rushes to the boar with its jagged horn pointed at it. The Ferocious tackle completely pierces the boar’s stomach. Blood seeping out of every part of its being. As to finally finish the poor beast, the creature stomps on its face wholly obliterating its head. Brain, flesh, bone and blood splashing in every direction.
As it feasts upon the Boar carcass, its notices a strange green flower. It walks over the flowers and examines it thoroughly.
Mylo couldn’t fathom the strength of this beast; he knew he doesn’t have the slightest of chances to win against it. He decided to leave it alone and not interfere with it. Not moving from his hidden spot and letting it do whatever it wants to the flower. He pondered if this beast already dealt with its quest target. But the question he asked himself was answered without any delay.
[Congratulations you have completed the quest ‘Unknown Beast’]
[Please choose an action:
*Kill the beast and report back to Efferus
*Do not engage the beast and report back to Efferus
-Reward will depend on the action taken-]
“W-What?”
Mylo looks over at the creature and inspects it.

Name: Lesser Chimera (WORLD BOSS)
Level:?
HP:? /?
Description: An abomination of mixed creatures including the Deer, Gorilla, Brown Bear, Sea turtle and Skunk (Cannot specify their exact name and environment). It has acquired one characteristic of each of its counter parts allowing it to you a variety of abilities. The Lesser Chimera is a product of alchemy and Dark Magic. Its only purpose is to feed its endless pit of hunger for flesh. Its most common tactic of hunt is to use the skunk spray to mark its prey in order to chase it down until dead. It uses its bear like strength to rampage around and his most used attack is a head-butt tackle using the Musk Deer horn impaling its prey. The lesser chimera can rarely be ambushed successfully because of its shell defending his vital spots.
*Inspection Level too low to identify a ‘World Boss’ level and health.*

This is a side-adventure I've written during the pandemic, as I've been having a lot of trouble getting into the correct head-space for writing my main series (The Last Science). Expect some rougher bits. Schedule is sporadic, but this will be a shorter one (closer to Snipe or Epilogue in length). I hope you enjoy it! Sufficiently Advanced
A Novella about magic vs aliens vs science. It's a raucous, campy sci-fi read involving humans gaining magic, a possibly pizza-hating alien empire, the decapitation of the US Federal Government, eldritch abominations, lesbian space witches and some medium-hard science.I wouldn't say it's not serious, but I wouldn't say it's serious. Eh, it's not serious. Wait... it's getting serious.

In Pursuit of Bark's Finest
On the frontiers of transhumanity’s expansion into the galaxy thousands of light years from the light of Sol, things can get rather chaotic. There are countless millions of nascent interstellar nations securing their interests, pirate ships prospering off plunder and deniable mercenary work, dissidents setting up their own civilizations, and other groups all trying to push an agenda. When these groups crash into each other, the results can become extremely messy and convoluted. Recently, a frontier nation calling itself the Red Star Union has found itself at the focal point of one such complication. A freighter under their protection has been sabotaged, hijacked in interstellar space, and robbed of its cargo. This would be bad enough even if all it were carrying was luxury goods, but the freighter Nebula Plow was carrying more than just normal trade goods. Indeed, her cargo of Non-Orientable Wormholes for use in starship power plants was both very expensive and very, very dangerous. Now the Red Star Union has to worry about a pirate crew running around with several extra devices capable of converting matter into antimatter with negligible energy cost. With those, the pirates could be capable of inflicting untold damage if allowed to leverage their ill-gotten gains into a stronger position, a possibility the Union finds completely intolerable. Unfortunately, all that the Red Star Union has to go on for evidence is two names; that of the captain, and that of the ship. The Captain is going by the possible pseudonym of Fuller, while the ship is named Bark’s Finest. And thus the orders came down to the Union’s Bureau of Starforce Intelligence: find more information on these pirates, conclusively identify them, and figure out where exactly they’ve gone to ground so that the fleet can crush them before they get established. Of the many agents that the bureau assigned to this mission, one would happen to play an important role: Field Agent Madeline Zargosty. This is her story. This story is entirely pre-written, and will have one chapter released per week. If you want to read it all ahead of schedule and get access to some premium-exclusive bonus content, the entire book is available for purchase; links to the appropriate storefront pages will be posted at the end of each chapter. This story is also being posted to Scribblehub.

These creatures, which humanity branded disastrous, destructive and detrimental, can either be helpful or harmful, though Stephen has to deal with all of them, depending on the needs of his clients.
