《Onyx: The Sovereign Slayer Chronicles》Chapter 18: Free Bird

“Ugh my feet are fucking killing me!” Moaned Tigris as she and Lyo walked down the road towards Renoa.
“It’s just a little further.” Said Lyo. “That’s what you said six hours ago.” “If you stopped complaining...” “I knew I should’ve just let the zabrak eat you. But no... I had to jump in and save little Ms. Spear-Up-My-Ass.” “Get bent Tigris!” “Make me bitch!” Both girls glared at each other. In any other circumstance Onyx would pull rank and order them to cool off. Except he wasn’t here nor were any other of their teammates. It was just the two of them all alone. Tigris tried to jump on top of Lyo on for her to block her attempt with her wooden makeshift spear. Lyo pushed Tigris back, but Tigris grabbed on to her spear. Both girls firmly gripped the shaft pushing each other back and forth until the spear snapped. Both of them pulled out their knives and readied themselves. “The only thing that I’ll regret over killing you Tigris is that I didn’t get to do it sooner.” “Fuck you! You can’t kill me bitch.” Both girls clashed their blades against each other. Both of them tried desperately to make an opening, but the other would not budge. Finally Lyo attempted to stab Tigris, but Tigris deflected her by catching her arm with her hand. Tigris did the same, but Lyo also caugth her arm with her hand. Both girls were deadlocked. Suddenly Tigris headbutted Lyo forcing her to fall back a few steps trying to regain her bearings. Tigris disarmed Lyo and jumped on top of her. She pinned her arms to the sides and looked down on her. “I hate you and you hate me.” Said Tigris trying to keep Lyo contained under her. “Fuck you! I hate you more what’s your point?” “We have to work together to make it out of here otherwise... it won’t be pretty if the Gaists get you. And it certainly won’t be pretty if the Sovereignists and Gaericists get me.” Replied Tigris. Suddenly both girls hear the sounds of galloping nearby. Both of them rushed to the side of the road hiding behind some bushes and trees. It would be bad enough if Zul-Aman’s military caught two Karashian Legionnaires in their country. They had to maintain a certain level of discretion. The sounds of galloping got nearer and nearer and soon they saw a small convoy of three carriages, probably carrying officers, and an armed escort. Tigris and Lyo glanced at each other and their attire. Going to Renoa in broad daylight was suicide. They would have to wait until nightfall, steal some clothes if at all, steal horses and supplies, and move towards Albion. After the convoy passed they waited a few more minutes to ensure that there was no rear guard before proceeding down the road. “You got a plan... sergeant?” Asked Lyo. “Get new clothes, steal horses and supplies, and rush towards Albion. We should definitely avoid big cities from now on.” “What’s the best route?” Asked Lyo. Tigris sighed. So much had probably changed from her time here. She didn’t expect to battle a foetodon who knows how much the cities, roads, villages, and even wildlife changed. “We’ll need to steal a map too then we’ll figure it out. Let’s hurry now no telling what else lurks in the dark.” Both girls reached the outskirts of the city just as the sun barely started to set. There was no time to take in the sights as the girls prepared their break-in into the city. “From what I can see Renoa is walled off so...” “Scale the wall?” “Fuck no!” Answered Tigris. “We take the sewage tunnels under the wall inside the city. Going through the front door is definitely not an option. Especially given what we’re wearing. We take the sewers and crawl out under the nearest exit. From there we make our way to the nearest stable, get the horses, kill the guards at one of the exits, and leave.” “No pressure.” “Wish the rest of the gang were here.” “I’m sure Onyx could have probably figured out several ways in by now.” “Spooky kids man. What the fuck are you gonna do? C’mon follow me the nearest sewer is this way.” The girls trekked down the hill into a small ravine that provided adequate concealment. They followed the ravine until they saw puddles of water forming, and the stench of garbage followed suit. As they continued they heard grunts coming from the way of the sewer grate. Tigris and Lyo hid behind a large rock and gazed upon the person trying to gain entrance. The girl had dark skin and red hair. She seemed familiar to Tigris, but she couldn’t quite place it. “Motherfucker! Why! Won’t! You! Open! Ugh...” Tigris and Lyo took cover behind some large rocks looking at the mysterious woman trying to pry the grate open. That voice and look was familiar she just couldn’t place it. “What do we do?” Whispered Lyo. “Wait. Nothing else we can do.” “How do you even know about this entrance?” “Long story short... I was running away.” “Somehow I’am not surprised.” “Ugh c’mon you stupid fucking... UGH! Got it!” Said the woman as the grate came off. “Let’s wait here until she goes first then we move.” Said Tigris as the woman walked inside the sewer tunnel. The two of them waited a moment then proceeded to follow her inside the tunnel. Tigris led the way and stood at the threshold keeping an ear out for the mysterious woman. She could hear her footsteps getting quieter and quieter then silence. She looked at Lyo then nodded letting her know that it was fine to move forward. The sewers were built like a maze and stretched for several miles. Sometimes they were large and spacious other times they were cramped and were difficult to move through. “Man it smells like shit!” Whispered Tigris. “How much further?” Asked Lyo. “Right now we should have already crossed the housing area which means that...” Before Tigris could finish her thought there was a rattling noise echoing through the tunnels. “What is it? Is something the matter?” Asked Lyo. “It’s uh... it’s probably someone dumping trash. Anyways it should be just a bit more.” The rattling neared and Tigris signaled Lyo to stop. The two of them looked back and forth wondering where the noise was coming from. Suddenly they saw something large slither through the tunnel intersecting theirs. Tigris counted the creature’s length of at least twenty feet. “Tigris is that a basilisk?” Whispered Lyo. “Yeah. Don’t make a fucking sound. Let’s find the nearest exit and get the fuck out.” Basilisks had tough scaly hides, had very keen senses, and were rather fast not to mention their incredible stregth as they wrapped around you and crushed your bones. Had the girls not been covered by the pungent smell of garbage and sewage it would have been rather difficult to avoid it. Tigris and Lyo kept moving slower this time. As Tigris led the way she heard shuffling nearby. She and Lyo clung to the walls and followed the sounds to its source. Tigris peeked from the corner and saw the woman again trying to open another grate. “C’mon! Open the fuck up!” Said the woman as she desperately tried to pry the grate open. “She’s going to bring that thing here.” Whispered Lyo. “Yeah I know. Fuck! We gotta get out of here.” “Where does that grate lead?” Asked Lyo. “Right where we need to go. And I don’t want to chance another tunnel on account of the basilisk.” Tigris heard rattling coming their way. “Fuck it! Let’s help her out.” “But...” Lyo began in protest. “It found us.” “Shit!” Tigris and Lyo ran towards the woman whose ears perked up. She drew a knife and turned around expecting a fight. “Tigris!?” She exclaimed. “Irene!? What the...” “Don’t mean to interrupt but we have a basilisk on our asses.” Tigris and Irene both heard the sound of rattling approach. “Oh what the fuck Tigris!?” “Shut up and help.” All three of them started pulling the grate as the rattling noise came closer and closer. Finally the grate started to give as the bars grinded against the stone. The girls frantically pulled in desperation as the rattling noise sounded like it was just around the corner. Lyo turned around. “Aw fuck it’s here!” “Urgh... c’mon you fucker... gyah... there now let’s get the fuck out of here.” Said Tigris as the grate unhinged and the basilisk came into view. The girls ran down the tunnel as fast as they could trying their best not to trip on top of the garbage. Tigris turned her head to see that the basilisk was quickly approaching. “Shit! Let’s make a turn here hurry!” Said Tigris. “Tigris that’s...” Began Irene, but noticed how quickly the basilisk was catching up. “Fuck it!” The girls made a detour and wound up at a tunnel junction with multiple tunnels aimed in all directions. “Where to now?” Asked Lyo as she panted. “Fuck uh...” Tigris was trying to recall which tunnel led where. “This way c’mon.” Said Irene as the trio rushed down the tunnel. The tunnel eventually led to a dead end. There was however a light coming down from above as the trio saw an alternate route. There were however no ladders at all as it was probably just a garbage chute or dumping tunnel. “Alright Irene you go first, then Lyo, then me. And hurry the fuck up!” Tigris and Lyo boosted Irene as she tried to get some grip on the walls. Then Tigris boosted Lyo as she climbed the walls. Tigris kept a eye out for the basilisk and could hear the distinct rattling approaching. Tigris looked up and saw the two girls almost reach the surface. Tigris transformed and jumped as high as she could catching up to the two. Irene tried to open the grate to no avail. “Irene just fucking transform and open the fucking thing it’s here!” Said Tigris as she was stuck between Lyo and the approaching basilisk. “Oh shut the fuck up!” Irene growled and transformed. The grate was finally starting to give. Tigris looked down and saw the basilisk slither up the walls. She picked up her legs and mustered all of her upper body strength to hand on to the walls. “Irene...” Tigris began. “Just a... little... more... gyah there hurry.” Said Irene as the grate opened and the girls jumped out of the tunnel. The girls could still hear the rattling noises coming up from the sewer. The girls pulled back when they heard a door behind them unlock. “What the fuck is going on here? Who are you people?” Asked the man as the girls jumped back in surprise. “What was that noise?” Asked another man that entered the room. “Just some sewer rats. Now why don’t the three of you get the...” The man was cut off by the sudden rattling noise. “Oh fuck me there’s more. Watch them while I go check.” The man approached the garbage chute and looked down. The other man pulled his sword and kept a close eye on the girls whilst communicating to his friend. “What was it?” “I can’t... AGH!” The man yelled as he was suddenly pulled in. “What the fuck!?” The man rushed to his friend grabbing his legs. Tigris rushed to push the man inside the garbage chute and join his friend. The man tried to push her off to no avail as Lyo and Irene helped her out. The man fell down the chute where he would become the basilisk’s next meal. Tigris closed the chute and walked as far away as possible as she sat on the ground trying to get her bearings. “Welcome to Zul-Aman! Where the sewers are infested with basilisks! And all that shit.” Tigris panted. “What the fuck are you doing here Tigris? And who’s she?” Asked Irene. “Irene, Lyo. Lyo, Irene. She and I are headed to Belaraan to start a potato farm.” Irene walked to Tigris and stepped on her hand. Tigris yelped in pain. “Tell me now!” “I came here to grab ass and take names. And seeing as how I just took those asshole’s names all I need to do now is grab your ass.” Irene added more pressure to her foot. Tigris used her foot to swipe Irene’s feet and knock her off balance. Irene was caught off guard and her head hit the floor. Tigris jumped on top of her and held both her arms in place. “Lyo help me out here look for something to tie her up... And something to keep her quiet.” Ordered Tigris. Lyo found some rope and began to tie Irene’s legs together. She then continued to tie her hands. Tigris held a small piece of cloth in her hands. Tigris then gagged her with the piece of cloth. “It’s two against one bitch so you better tell me what I want to know or I get handsy. Just ask any of our dead female Dolsurian prisoners.” Irene gave Tigris a look of disgust. “It’s war bitch.” Tigris pulled out her knife. “Now then blink once for ‘yes’ and twice for ‘no’. Got it?” Irene blinked whilst struggling to undo her binds. “Good. Is Dawon alive?” Irene blinked. “Shit.” Exclaimed Tigris. “Are my parents alive?” Irene blinked twice. Tigris smiled. “Good.” Lyo put her hand on Tigris’ shoulder and signaled her to talk away from Irene. The girls moved Irene to the far corner of the room. Lyo began to move her hands and used sign language. “Let’s use sign language otherwise she might learn too much.” Tigris began to move her hands and fingers as well. “Good point. So what’s up?” “Those two men had army uniforms so that means that we’re...” “Yep.” They were persecuted all the way to Renoa’s military compound. “We need her help to get out of here otherwise it could be a serious catastrophe if Zul-Aman discovers two Karashian Legionnaires within its borders. We’re here to start a civil war not give Dol-Sur an ally.” “I know it’s just of all people why the fuck did it have to be her.” The two girls looked at Irene who was glaring back at them trying to figure out what they were saying. “I think I have an idea, but... Azura and the rest may not like it.” Signaled Tigris. “What do you mean?” Signaled Lyo. “We help the Gaists with their little revolution. Stir up enough shit that we use them to fight against the Gaericists and Sovereignists.” Lyo seemed almost taken aback by Tigris’ plan. “But they’re heretics.” Tigris flipped her off. “Fuck you Lyo!” This time she said it. “Fine we’ll do it your way for now.” Tigris and Lyo then proceeded to undo Irene’s bindings and removed the gag. “Why are you here?” Asked Tigris as she pressed her knife on Irene’s neck. Irene spat on Tigris’ face. “Fuck you Tigris!” “Don’t get me wrong with those voluptuous tits and tight ass I hope to now...” Tigris pressed her knife deeper this time drawing blood. “Why are you here?” Irene thought about what Tigris and the other girl were doing here. They were both flying Karashian colors with those uniforms of theirs. She would have to play their game for now until she could find out more. “I’m trying to save Akama. Cairne told us that they had him here in Renoa.” “We know Dawon has been picking fights with the Zulamarian military. From where? Where’s he operating from?” Asked Lyo. “Eat a dick or better yet why don’t you take all of your Sovereigns and have yourselves a fucking orgy. Fucking bitch.” “Do we really need her?” Asked Lyo. “I’m afraid so.” Tigris let out a sigh. “Okay first we find new uniforms and burn our colors. Then we figure out where Akama is being held. Then we fight our way out.” “That’s a terrible plan.” Replied Irene. “Well it’s all I’ve got so let’s go.” Tigris slowly opened the door and peeked through the opening making sure that the coast was clear. She heard footsteps approaching and saw three soldiers making their way towards the door. Tigris signaled the girls to hide behind some barrels as the soldiers neared the room. “Where the fuck are they? They’re supposed to be here.” “Probably left home early.” “The captain will have their asses if he finds out.” “That’s assuming they’ll have an ass left. So anyone else notice the entourage?” “Yeah who was that anyways?” “Some Sovereignist big shot. Came here with armed escort and everything.” Tigris and Lyo remembered the armed convoy they had encountered on their way to the city. “Sent by Deacon Lambert to oversee the execution.” “They’re killing him here?” “No they’re taking Akama to Albion and executing him there. The Sovereignist is just here to escort him there.” “Why not just kill the asshole here? Seems like a waste of time.” “They wanna make a big show of it for all of Zul-Aman to see. Same with Cairne and Dawon once they catch the flea ridden fuck.” Irene jumped out of her hiding spot and transformed. The soldiers were completely caught by surprise and Tigris and Lyo joined the fray. Tigris grabbed one of the soldiers by the neck and began strangling him. Lyo threw her knife at one of the soldiers and managed to hit his eye. Irene transformed and bit the last soldier’s neck ripping out his throat. Lyo took hold of the knife and pushed it deeper into the soldier’s eye to his brain killing him. Tigris was the only one still left contending with hers. Irene walked over, raised her foot, and stomped the soldier’s head. “I had it under control.” Said Tigris. “We have to go and save Akama. We’ve been in here too long.” “Alright strip them of their uniforms and dump their bodies in the chute.” Ordered Tigris. “What do we do with our uniforms then?” Asked Lyo. Tigris grabbed one of the swords and started cutting any identifiable marks. She then offered her sword to Lyo who started doing the same. They grabbed the strips of cloth and cut those up as well to the point that they were nothing more than tiny pieces of fabric. They dumped the rest of their gear into the chute. “Alright then Irene take Lyo and look for Akama. I’ll set us up with an escape wagon and a distraction.” “Got it.” Said Lyo. “Keep an eye on her.” Said Tigris using sign language. The group split and each went their separate ways. Tigris began to look for their munitions storage. As she made her way through the courtyard she saw the convoy she and Lyo had spotted earlier. She saw a woman communicating with sign language to one of the city guards. “Ah fuck silent sisters are here too!” Muttered Tigris under her breath. Silent sisters were Gaericists that were completely raised under the roof and tenets of Gaericism. They were adept fighters and devout believers. So much so that they would cut their own tongues off as part of their rituals hence the name. Tigris remembered the stories and a few confrontations she had with them. They were hard to kill, and each of them was proficient in almost every weapon. “Hey you there!” Yelled one of the guards. “Fuck.” Whispered Tigris. “What is it?” She responded. “Come with me so that we can escort her to the cells.” “Yes sir.” She replied. “I’ve never seen you around here before. You one of the new guys?” Asked the soldier. “Yes sir. Uh... This is my first day... Sir!” Tigris made sure to use the word ‘sir’ as many times as possible to make herself look like a fresh recruit. The silent sister approached the two along with her interpreter. “Sister Edas would like to speak to the captive before departing.” “Yeah sure follow us. Although I must warn you he might be a little...” “HE’S FUCKING NUTS!” Yelled Lyo as she looked at Akama who was holding a skull and talking to it. “Ya hear that Akama we’ve fooled the girls with our superior skullduggery.” Said Akama as he held up the skull and began moving it’s lower jaw. “Great now he’s making up words. Help me find the key.” Said Lyo. Irene drew her sword and began to bash the lock. “What the fuck are you doing? What if someone hears us...” The girls then heard footsteps coming their way. Both girls played their part and stood up straight acting as guards. Lyo turned her head and saw Tigris among the group. “Ah fuck we must be really stretched thin if we got new recruits watching over the prisoner.” “You won’t get a single word out of our lips... Except for those... And those too... And those other ones.” Akama removed Skully’s jaw then he put his hand over his mouth. “Where did he get the skull?” Asked the interpreter. “I don’t know. He promised to surrender only if we let him keep it. I wouldn’t try to take it away from him if I were you. It took six guys just to hold him down.” The silent sister began to use sign language. The interpreter then began to speak for her. “Why is he... You know? Did you drug him?” “Yeah they tried everything all they got from him was how to roast a skex, and the location of... Skully’s treasure box.” The silent sister used sign language again to which the interpreter said, “Is he really the chieftain of the Broken Beaks?” “According to Skully he is.” The soldier grinned. “In any case I’ll leave you to him although... I’m sure the two of you have a lot to talk about. As for the three of you stay here and make sure he doesn’t do anything stupid. Ah and don’t kill him.” Tigris tried to think of a new plan on how to get out of this mess. She came up with one, but it was terrible and it involved running through a maze of shit with a basilisk. “Could the three of you leave us with the prisoner for just a moment?” Asked the interpreter. “Yes ma’am.” Said Tigris. The trio left and walked down the hallway and made sure to put enough distance so that they were not within earshot. “Weird question who’s Skully?” Asked Lyo. “His kid.” Began Irene. “Among the Broken Beaks it’s common practice to sacrifice your firstborn.” “Why?” “It’s a test of faith and loyalty to the clan above all else. Something Sovereignists like yourself wouldn’t understand. I can’t believe that you’re with them. I bet you just opened your legs and took in that Sovereign cock...” Tigris then punched Irene in her stomach forcing her to the ground. She then crouched and glared at Irene as she glared back at her. “Let me tell you something I’m not a fucking Sovereignist. Nor do I open my legs for anybody. Women open their legs for me. Above all I do the fucking so shut the fuck up because you are nothing more than a fucking cum receptacle for my brother.” “Is everything alright over there?” Tigris responded. “I just found the girl who called me a cunt in basic and I punched her... So yeah everything’s fine.” “O... Okay.” The interpreter had no idea how to respond to that. “Why?” Asked Lyo. “Why not?” Responded Tigris. Lyo used sign language to communicate with Tigris. “We cannot fight a silent sister.” “I know, and who knows what her interpreter might be able to do.” Tigris responded with sign language. Irene slowly got back up and tried to listen in on the conversation the silent sister had with Akama. “Where are the rest of your soldiers?” Irene knew that Akama would not turn traitor, but she might have to resort to killing him if he gives even a word of information. If she killed him the Broken Beaks would not join their coalition, and they were desperate to increase their numbers. “You guys wait here I’ll be back.” “Where are you going?” Asked Lyo. “The shitter.” Responded Irene. “Lyo go with her just in case I’ll stay here.” Said Tigris. “Fuck me.” Muttered Lyo under her breath. The two girls walked out of the prison and walked along the edge of the courtyard looking for the nearest restroom. “So how’d you know I was a...” Lyo began. “Apollyon idol gave it away.” Answered Irene. “So have you and Tigris fucked?” Asked Irene. “FUCK NO!” Yelled Lyo drawing attention of many soldiers surrounding the two. “If she were a Gaericist she’d be tortured. It’s already bad enough she’s a Gaist and the fact the she ran away.” “Why did she run away?” Irene remembered that day almost too vividly. Clapping thunder, tears hidden by rainfall, two girls looking opposite each other from across a fragile wooden bridge held together by string. “WHY!?” Yelled Irene as tears rolled down her face, but were hidden by the rain. “FREEDOM!” Yelled Tigris with a smile as the rest of the animalists approached from Irene’s side of the bridge. Tigris cut the rope and let the bridge fall down the deep chasm ensuring that her pursuers had no chance of reaching her. “Freedom she said. Although I’m sure she confused freedom with cowardice.” Lyo remembered the conversation she had with Tigris and began to understand some of the reasons as to why Tigris was Tigris. Lyo saw the sign that said restroom and Irene walked past it. “Wait weren’t you...” Lyo started. “I meant a different kind of shitter. Head back to Tigris when you hear the signal go for it. Wait for me by the entrance to the sewers outside.” “What about the...” Lyo was about to remind Irene of the basilisk in the sewers. “I’ll manage. Push comes to shove I’ll slip out of the base on my own and sneak through the city.” “Alright then.” Lyo left Irene as she prepared to make a distraction. Tigris watched over Akama as the two women had already left deciding it was best to interrogate Akama once he was detoxicated. Akama just sat there whispering to himself and that skull of his. Tigris heard footsteps down the hall and turned to see Lyo coming back alone. “Where’s Irene?” She asked. “Do you remember when she said the shitter?” Tigris raised an eyebrow. “Why?” Suddenly a loud explosion echoed down the halls and Lyo began to break the lock with the sword. “What the fuck is going on?” Asked Tigris alarmed by the explosion. “We’re in the shit now that’s what.” Tigris growled. “I can’t believe this shit!” Tigris helped Lyo break the lock and free Akama. “Begone with you foul wenches you shall never have my treasure or the secret ingredient to make a perfect lobster brisk.” Said Akama as he moved Skully’s jaw up and down. “I thought it was Skex.” Said Lyo. “He’s nuts. By the way it’s red pepper.” Answered Tigris. Akama gasped. “Who told you the recipe? Was it...” Tigris grabbed Akama’s arm and dragged him out of his cell. “Lyo grab him. I’ll move ahead and clear the way.” “Yeah just hurry up he smells like shit.” “It’s called musk.” Answered Skully. “It’s called hygiene.” Answered Lyo. Tigris made sure that no one was coming their way, and signaled Lyo to move up with Akama. Tigris saw soldiers leaving the halls and rooms and rushing outside to put out the fires. Then she noticed one soldier making their way towards them. Her heart almost stopped when she saw it was actually Irene. Once the hall was cleared Irene signaled them to advance. “Hurry up we don’t have much time.” She said. “No shit. Help out Lyo, I’ll move forward, and try to keep his mouth shut.” Said Tigris. “Whatever you say carpet muncher.” Retorted Irene. Lyo snickered. “Fuck you.” Replied Tigris. Tigris saw a spare uniform in one of the closets. It seemed to be the right size. It would certainly be a lot easier to move him undetected. Tigris grabbed the uniform and threw it at the trio behind her. “Put it on and hurry up!” “It’s made of linen.” Said Akama. “So?” Asked Lyo. “Skully and I hate linen. Especially the way it feels around my cock and balls. It tickles sometimes so I have to grab it and move it to the side. Now because of that my cock has a curve. That’s not right. No man’s cock should curve. It should be straight, and stand tall and mighty against the wind.” “Just put it on!” Said Lyo. Akama put on the uniform as quickly as he could shaking as the linen made contact with his skin. “Ugh I hate this Akama you should dump these bitches and become a teapot.” Said Skully although Akama was just moving the skull’s jaw up and down. “Shh. They’ll hear you.” Said Akama. The trio listened at the Akama argue with himself. Once he finished he tried to accommodate his penis and moved it to the side. “I hate you all.” “What’s he like when he is... Not like this?” Asked Lyo. “He’s also a total whack job. But he can at least command troops.” Answered Irene. The four moved out of the building and into the courtyard where the fire moved beyond what they had expected. It spread from their armory to the stables, and even managed to scorch some of the battlements and a watchtower. The soldiers were still desperately trying their best to contain the fire. The four of them rushed to find the garbage chute only to be met with cries saying that Akama had escaped. At that point they all just decided to make a break for it as several soldiers saw that they were the ones responsible for his break out. They made it to the room with the garbage chute and barricaded the door with some barrels and shelves nearby to buy them some time. “Alright everyone jump down.” Said Tigris as she tried to hold them back. “What about...” Lyo began. “Yippee!” Yelled Akama as he dove first into the chute. “Never mind.” She muttered. Soon Irene jumped followed by Lyo then Tigris as they could hear the soldiers breaking through the barricade. As she gained her footing she saw Lyo begin to run, and she followed suit. “They went down through the chute. After them!” Those words echoed through the sewer tunnels as Tigris and Lyo were trying to catch up to Akama and Irene. Tigris’ ears perked as she heard a distinct rattling she turned her head, but saw nothing. She kept running trying to catch up when she finally saw them all gathered at the junction. “Did they follow?” Asked Irene. “Probably. I also heard the basilisk so let’s hurry the fuck up.” Panted Tigris. “Alright then let’s go.” As the group neared the tunnel the basilisk’s head began to emerge. They all stepped back slowly hoping it wouldn’t enter. Irene, Tigris, and Lyo pulled out their swords. Akama looked at the trio with their swords. “Well how come I don’t have a sword?” “Akama... FUCK!” Screamed Irene as the basilisk saw the group. The basilisk then fully emerged from the tunnel and saw the group standing with its weapons drawn. “Scatter!” Yelled Tigris. The basilisk opened its mouth and began to spit some type of acid that melted the rock walls that was behind the group. “That thing can spit acid?” Yelled Irene. “Skully says it’s got indigestion.” Lyo saw soldiers approaching through one of the tunnels. She immediately had an idea. “Hey asshole over here!” She waived her arms and shouted calling the attention of the basilisk. “Lyo what are you doing?” Asked Tigris. “Run. I’ll meet up with you guys outside.” The basilisk hissed and began to chase her through the tunnel. Lyo ran as fast as she could towards the group of soldiers with the basilisk closing in behind her. The soldiers drew their weapons and charged at her. Lyo then slid under their sword swings. The soldiers clashed with the basilisk in the narrow tunnel. Lyo looked for another tunnel she could take and ran hoping to catch up with the rest of the group. She heard footsteps and saw Tigris. “C’mon you crazy bitch this way.” “Fuck you too... Carpet muncher.” Lyo panted as she tried to catch her breath. The girls made their way to the exit where they met with Irene and Akama. “So do we have a deal?” Asked Irene. “Skully says Dawon’s just using me for my body and the bodies of my men.” Irene growled in frustration. “I just saved your ass.” “So did the Sovereignist and the carpet muncher. So what type of carpet are we talking about wool, polyester... Is it linen?” By this time Akama pushed Skully near Tigris’ face. “Not that kind of carpet.” Answered Lyo. “Akama listen if your Broken Beaks join us at Berwick then...” “Out of all the places Dawon could have conquered why the fuck did he choose the ass end of Eris?” “It’s isolated and defensible.” “Not even the Gaericists and Soverignists cared that much for it. Bet they don’t even realize it’s gone.” “In any case... We need you Akama.” “Skully says he’ll do it... On one condition.” Irene’s stomach turned. “What is it?” Akama turned to Tigris and pointed at her. “She leads the assault on Amani.” “Eat a dick.” Tigris began. “I didn’t... Why?” “Because you are like a cockroach and Skully knows about Tofar.” “No deal it is because of Dawon that we got this far.” Akama began to move Skully’s jaw. “Then he takes her as his second. Final offer.” “Nice use of skullduggery Skully. Would it help if I said please?” Irene groaned. “I’ll see what I can do.” “Well then guess I’m off.” Akama stood up and began walking away from the group. “Uh are we...” Lyo began. “He’ll be fine.” Answered Irene. “Irene weird question: Is Baphomet still alive?” Asked Tigris. “Yeah the old goat’s still alive. Always spouts the same thing ‘Baphomet’s going to outlive you all’ why?” “For a friend is all.” “Whatever c’mon it’s a long walk to Albion so let’s go.” Lyo then whispered to Tigris. “Who is he? Also why?” “Old guy. Knows a lot. Also because of Onyx... and Dragon Eyes.”

Now aware of the peril mankind faces, he's desperate to learn what he must to defeat them - but the only person willing to help him is veteran demon hunter Astral Daamon, and only so she can pursue her own investigation into corruption within the walls of the Council Academy. But what they uncover together is far more terrifying than mere conspiracy - challenging everything Seth thought he knew about fighting demons. Beneath the foundations of the academy itself, an ancient and malevolent evil is stirring from its slumber - and unless Seth is willing to sacrifice what he believes could protect humanity from annihilation, this demon will rise and devour everyone he cares about. Seth is being forced to weigh the lives of his classmates against the fate of humanity. When the moment comes, will he make the right decision?
8 135Tome of Stealth [A System Anti-Apocalypse]
When the Passivity Precept takes over the world it snuffs out all brutality, leaving its MMO-like Violence Simulator as humanity's only source of physical violence. Knowing how much she can make from selling epic gear, Grace Winston enters the simulation and discovers that it's more than just a game. Somewhere in there are the answers to who started the fire that killed her father. For far too long, Lorevinel Silvercat has been stuck as the Ravenborn clan’s free-roaming prisoner. They’ve held a grudge against his clan and have used him to vent their hatred. Having planned his escape for several years, he has everything ready, but he needs a specific artifact from the Rogues Guild to finally start his journey. Will Grace find her answers? Will Lore gain his freedom? Can these two unlikely people, both alien to each other, find common ground and work together while dealing with an unasked for soul bond? ToS is a Lite LitRPG (meaning very few stats with a focus on story). Expect cursing, sexual tension, descriptions of breeding dungeon rats, and a little gore. TL;DR- The System Anti-Apocalypse forces everyone to be peaceful and only commit violence inside its Magical VR game.
