《How I found Neverland》No Need To Say Goodbye

The first thing I saw was the wings. Rather hard to miss them.
It was not that the Faye were scary, just surprising. Most of the Faye had feathered wings, ranging in color from a crow to a macaw. But, the rare few Faye, had horns.. And DRAGON wings.
I sat there in awe, staring at the majesty above my head, high up in the jungle treetops.
Peter decided to use the rare occasion of me not asking a million questions to tell me more about the Faye. In particular, the dragon Faye.
"faye are equally smart as humans, but are quite a bit smaller. Three feet five inches was the record I think.
Their color isn't hereditary. For the feathers, scales, or skin color.
Dragon Faye are really rare, only one in a thousand.
Their form of government is a monarchy of the queen or king and their choose successor. " Peter said, rapid fire.
"this is extremely interesting and everything, but how does this help me get home? They can fly yes, but I can't. And I doubt they can carry me. " I said in protest.
Peter sighed in disappointment at my tunnel vision. "I was getting there." he grumbled. "dragon Faye can turn into fire breathing, ten foot tall dragons." Peter finished without enthusiasm.
"WHAT?!" I half shouted, scaring some of the Faye like birds.
"yes, now quiet down so I can call our friend to take you back." Peter said, looking around apprehensively. He cupped his hands to his mouth, and the slow song of the Neverbird sounded out.
A few minutes later, I heard wing beats heavier than normal, causing the air to vibrate.
I turned around to look behind me and saw a large black dragon flying toward us. Outwardly, I was calm. Inwardly, I was furiously praying this went better than my last... Interaction with dragons.

As the dragon landed, Peter introduced us. "Branch, meet Kiana, the chosen successor of Queen Jynn, and ambassador to the Lost Boys.
An arrow nicked Peter's ear.
"and Girls." he finished calmly.
"pleasure to meet you." I said, bowing like a gentleman in respect.
Kiana said nothing. Dragons are unable to talk, and shifting back and forth would take too much energy. Instead, she swung her triangular head to Simon and hummed to him.
"she wishes to know what we are in need of. " Simon translated.
I stepped forward. "I was separated from my crew and marooned here during a storm. I wish to rejoin my friends, but have no way to leave the island."
She hummed again and leaned her head towards me so our eyes met.
"are you certain this is what you want?" Simon translated for her.
I took a deep breath... And nodded my head. "yes."
Kiana hummed some more and Simon translated.
"then say your goodbyes and climb on. I will take you."
I turned to the lost boys and lost girls. My mouth opened to say something, but nothing came out. Luckily, Fingers came to my rescue.
"don't make it weird" he said, and handed me what he had been carving.
It was a beautiful tree. Highly detailed to the point that it looked alive. In its branches, were ten different animals. On the base was carved a single finger print.
I listened to Fingers and stayed quiet, but my eyes betrayed how much it meant to me.
I felt torn between staying and leaving. Until I looked at Peter. He never said it in words... But his eyes said one simple thing.
"don't worry. One day, you will come back."
And with that, I climbed on Kiana's back, and flew away from Neverland.
For now.
But one day, I will return. Until then, there is no need to say goodbye.

NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY: The Adventures of The Creeping Bam (BOOK ONE: The Job)
TAO is a broken world held together with nothing but magic and the will of the gods who protect it and its people. Then thousand years ago THE SUNDERING struck and Tao was almost torn apart by a terrible magical cataclysm which resulted in the planet almost being halted in its journey through the cosmos. It took all the power the gods of Tao could muster to restore its orbit and set it turning again, but in their efforts it was forever changed – its axis was drastically altered, and it now spins in such a way that one face of the world is forever turned from the sun it orbits, leaving half the planet in perpetual darkness. The various humanoid races that survived and now thrive within the habitable parts of THE DAY LANDS have come to live in perpetual fear of what lives beyond THE BORDERLANDS that separate them from whatever dwells within THE NIGHT LANDS, but for ten millennia it has kept its secrets. The land of RUNDAO languishes under the rule of their warlike Northern neighbours, the TEKTEHRAN EMPIRE, while a small, ragtag band of motley adventurers ply their mercenary trade fighting monsters and protecting the common man from the various dangers that haunt the night and prowl the hinterlands on the edges of civilization. THE CREEPING BAM have amassed a modest reputation in their years together, but they’re still just a small-time party of sellswords, thieves, outcasts and mages. They’re also exactly the kind of underdogs the people of Tao doesn’t yet realise are needed to save the world from the encroaching darkness they doesn’t even know is coming … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
