Loci Parametric scrambled with all sorts of tools, he held an electric screwdriver with his right hand while holding a self-adjusting wrench in his other hand.

“Damn it...” he cursed as the detachable tip of his screwdriver got stuck in a screw and came out of the screwdriver, “ I NEED MORE ARMS!”

“Make them yourself,” Rosy said across the room, “but you are gonna need someone else to program it.”

“Why?” Loci looked away from his metalwork.

Rosy threw her magazine like a frisbee which landed perfectly in front of Loci, “Unlike you, the metal hearted golem, the rest of us have greater problems to deal with.”

Loci picked up the magazine and read its cover, ‘Science and Astronomy Destroyed In One Night’, “Some kind of commercial?”

“READ,” Rosy ordered.

“Okok,” Loci backed off from his workbench and sat onto a chair made from plastic pipes.

Seeing that Loci started to actually read the correct content, Rosy turned aside and took out her pink laptop from her bag. She entered her twenty digit password quickly and reopened the tab which she was working on.

“Why are you looking at my programs?” Tann’s voice made Rosy jump and slammed her laptop shut as if she was looking at something inappropriate.

“Hi...you are…” Rosy glanced at the person, “wait, didn’t we met before?”

“Your name is Rosy right?” Tann smiled, “I’m the new student…”

“Now I remember,” Rosy laughed, “how’s school going for you so far?”

Tann sat down beside Rosy, “I like this place a lot.”

“Did Loci force you in?”

“Not really,” Tann turned towards Loci, “just feel bad for someone who…”

“HAHAHAHA” Loci laughed hysterically and put down the papers, “is it an April Fool’s joke or something?” The two girls watched him awkwardly.

“Rosy,” Loci began, “do you really think that, if I snap my fingers, the whole fricking universe is gonna spin around our little planet.”

Rosy did not reply, instead, she turned to Tann and smiled sadly, “You need a big heart to handle this guy.”

“Okay, Loci,” after seeing Rosy’s smile, Tann said, “if you take a look at the night sky…”

“I don’t give a damn,” Loci quickly changed the subject, “ what, even if we spin around the moon, it makes no difference to me. It’s not like if the universe starts spinning’s gonna make my robots go crazy.”

“Very interesting thinking,” Tann recorded Loci’s reaction virtually then said to herself quietly, “I should really look deeper into the personality functions.”

-------------------

He was homeless, without a family nor anyone who knows him more than his name. The tramp rolled uncomfortably in his cardboard bed. Lucky for him, his home, an abandoned factory provided shelter for him against the blazing sun or the killing storms. However, he knew it, one day, this home will be gone, the developer’s team can turn grassland into a shopping centre within a week. So, he wanted to enjoy this temporary sense of home.

The tramp closed his eyes, trying to shorten the time before night, but his hand that was resting on the floor felt a sense of moisture.

Water.

He stared up, and he saw it.

“Subject acquired,” it said, “prepare Hetzer formula, one.”

The tramp sat up pushing the cardboard out of his way. Then, he realised, a rim of water had surrounded him, it formed the strange patterns and constantly changed its path in a regular way.

“No...no…”

“Stay calm,” it said, “I am here to make you strong.”

“What are you!?”

“You may address me as CAST.”

CAST walked, actually, it was standing in a pool of water that replaced the concrete floor, towards the tramp as it moved, the pool followed him. The tramp stretched out his hand and reached towards CAST.

“I am terribly sorry, but you may not touch me,” CAST spoke calmly, the tramp’s arm stopped in mid-air, “I am not willing to get my fur dirty, yet.” Slowly, the tramp withdrew his arm.

“I have something good for you,” CAST claimed, the furry white sheep began to shake itself. As it shook, tingling noise could be heard and its form became blurry.

Clink!

Something dropped from CAST’s thick fur, “Sorry for the wait.”

The tramp’s eyes widened, he had not seen anything that looks tasty in a long while.

“Take it,” the sheep barked happily, “it’s all yours, I rather have some grass or cabbage”

Like a hungry wolf, the tramp charged at his food and grabbed it tightly with his claws. He stretched open his mouth and took an enormous bite. He chewed noisily, like a rapidly rotating saw blade cutting through wires. Then, he wanted to take an even larger bite, he stared towards the ceiling as his jaws cracked, the side of his cheeks ripped apart by his desires.

CAST turned around, “After you finish, I’d like you to do me a little favour.” The white sheep slowly walked away from the feeding beast. As CAST took its exit the water on the ground followed by flowing inversely, soon, the concrete floor was dry again.

The tramp finally finished his food, he wiped his mouth, but no saliva or scraps remained on his lips. His cheeks… They had returned to normal. He was still hungry.

Food!

He scanned the room and he saw food again. Like a tiger, the former tramp dashed towards the pile of rusted pipes.
