《Ducosym - My Dungeon Core System》Pink Dark Boy

Floating in the dark abyss, his senses came back with a sudden spark of light. Though he remembered no memories, a basic humanity glimmered in his soul.
'Uwaah! Where am I?' He tried to move, but his limbs refused.
From the empty vastness a message appeared.
[ Starting Up System… ]
[ Loading Core… ]
The darkness faded away as a pink-shaded world appeared. Bubbles floated upwards around him. He could move, though at the cost of a terrible realization.
'Wait! My body… I'm just an eye! W-What happened to me?!'
Distraught by panic, he tried to run away but couldn't. The smooth crystal wall blocked his path whichever way he swam. He was trapped inside a quartz-shaped gemstone, floating in liquid as nothing but an eye.
'No, stop! Quit screaming, that won't get you nowhere! Get your shit together and think! When you regained consciousness, there was something about a system. And that word… it reminds me of something…'
An idea flashed through his mind. As if a memory tried to emerge, only to be blocked by an external force. Though not powerful enough to fully manifest, it gave him a hint on what to do.
'System!' He yelled in his mind. Just like the message from before, a status screen appeared.

'W-What?! I got turned into a… core? What the hell is that?! And why do I have so bad stats? Uwaah, I'm going to die!'
He bashed the walls of his prison but to no avail.
'Ouch, this wall is so strong! But now that I think about it… it's actually not a bad thing. At least I have something protecting my fragile body…'

The gem's walls were glass-like. He could see the outside but the image wasn't sharp. His vision was no more that of a human's but a little tadpole's, swimming in a crystalized womb.
'There's so little light out there! Much of the outside is so dark… I must be somewhere in a cave.'
Swimming around, he noticed roots entangling the gem from both sides. They held him above the ground floor.
'Waah, this is bad! I don't know how strong my crystal is, but if these roots let go and it breaks, that will be the end of me! Whahah, I'm about to cry!'
Thump!
'UWAAH!' He screamed as a large shadow appeared on one side of his prison. It was a tremendous monster, bearing six wooly legs attached to a gargantuan body.
'I will do anything, just please don't eat me!' He screamed, before catching glimpse of the beast's eyes.
It was a fluffy, white moth. As if delighted by the unexpected company, it raised one of its tiny legs to comb its long black antennae. Then it blinked twice with its big black eyes.
'Uwaah! You're the cutest little thing!' He approached the being, to which it let go of the gem. 'Huh? Where did you go, Miss Moth? Hey, don't leave me! You're the first company I had since—'
Thump!
'Waah! What the hell?!'
The moth hit the gem! Sticking to it once more, it eyed the crystal with amusement. Pink sparkled from its black pupils.
'W-Wait! I get it! When I talk, my body lights up. It must've been why this moth caught interest in me. Crap, this is bad! Now I have to shut up until it leaves!'
But another thought crossed his mind.
'Or maybe I could…'
He swam close to the moth's face. As cute as moths are, seeing one ten times your size is a scary experience. But he was too determined to care about that.

He focused on the moth's eyes and began to concentrate. Energy slowly built up around him, amplifying his senses.

His mind continuously repeated the same word over and over again, building up energy. His vision became darker and pain crept up on his nonexistent spine. Still, he did not release yet. He was so proud of his idea, he wanted it to work perfectly.
When he finally couldn't bear the tension anymore, he burst his energy in the form of a voiceless scream.
'Obey!'
The crystal's fluid spun around as the massive energy wave was released. He could barely keep himself still as bubbles twirled him left and right.
'Waah, it was too strong! Oh no, did I kill the moth? I didn't mean to! Uwaah, I'm so sorry Miss--…'
As if confused, the moth combed its antennae once more.
'Miss Moth, you're fine! Thank god! But now… obey my commands!'
The moth stared at him.
'Uhh… alright! Dance for me!'
The moth stared at him. More.
'Why is this not working?! I did exactly what my instincts said! Then why did it not work?'
As he finished his question, a status screen appeared next to the moth's face.

'Whaa?! Why do you have a status screen I can actually understand, Miss Moth? Why don't I have one? I'm so jealous!'
The moth let go of the gem and flew in front of it. It stayed there, looking at him.
'Oh, I should keep it to myself. If that moth attacks me again, the gem might fall down and break. Then I'm basically dead.'
He eyed the moth for a while. It was persistent, but still just a bug. Shortly after it flew away in search for another light source.
'Phew! That was close.'
He sunk down to the bottom of the gem and rested there.
'I feel so tired… stupid bug! I used up all my energy to get it to… to obey me? Why did I want it to obey me?'
He gazed at the blurry outside. He blinked once, then twice, then thrice again. It was hard to keep his eyes (or more accurately, eye) open.
'Its intelligence stat was the same as mine. I'm as smart as a butterfly. Moths are butterflies, right? Or… are they not the same? Damn, no wonder our intelligence matches.'
His body became numb.
'Oh, I'm falling asleep… or more accurately, I'm passing out. Heh. Before that happens, I should probably give myself a name. Let's see… Darkness! No… Doombringer Core! Nah, that doesn't fit.'
He saw his reflection in the wall, lighting up as he spoke.
'Heh… Sunny. That's what I'll call myself. Sunny…'
The world became dark as he fell asleep.

8 176The Edgars
A serial killer is wreaking havoc in a small European village, and Charles Edgar believes his estranged brother to be the culprit. But little does he know that a much darker truth lies behind the bloodshed; one that will bring betrayal and destruction to the entire Edgar lineage. (This is a one-act play. A (beat) indicates a pause in the dialogue.) Also, please feel free to rip this story apart in the reviews (if you're so inclined). I really want to improve as a writer, so any criticisms are more than welcomed.
8 212The Legend of the Fake Hero
*I don't own the cover image**This has the Tragedy Tag; please no genre hate. Bad things can happen to good people, just like in real life (not that they will. I almost didn't put the tag there as it doesn't really fit the genre. I like happy endings.).The year is 201X, and the line between reality and the imaginary has become blurred. Approximately nine months ago, the event which became known as "The Convergence" occurred. People on Earth began to obtain powers. Some received them for seemingly no reason while others had obtained them after they had returned from the many different worlds that they had unwillingly been abducted to. These new worlds existed beyond time and space, and many could have different rules different from what we know as standard reality. That is because these many worlds seem to have traits taken from imagination. Things from stories and myths, like magic and plots, existed in these worlds as if they were inspired by them, and that was only a start. On earth, there was a young man. On appearance, he could be considered only slightly better-than-average. The only thing he was known for was his incredible mind that left him feeling bored and out of touch with reality. But soon he would leave this reality altogether. One moment he was lying in his bed. The next, he was face-to-face with a beautiful young lady who he had just woken up upon him falling into her bed. This young man has an incredible fate and will soon visit many worlds, gain many powers, and meet many women who, like the young girl whose bed he had fallen into, will blow him away.Upload Schedule (Updated 3/28/2021)Upload one chapter every-other-weekend PST (with rare exception, typically due to length).Breaking Fate/Origin Arc (Done) Albion Arc: Vol 1 - Origin, Vol 2 - Rise of the Red Dragon (Done) New Earth Arc: Vol 3 - New Earth (Done) Dealing with the Past Arc: Vol 4 - Ghosts of the Past, Vol 5 - The Dracul Descends, Vol 6 - War of FateBound Fate Arc Fake Hero Arc Vol 7 - Martel Side Stories #1 Shield Hero Arc Vol 8 - Second Chance Vol 9 - The Adventure Begins (Current) Vol 10 - First Quest Vol 11 - TBD (Writing [37%]) (Multiple Future Volumes TBD)Currently ONLY posting on Scribble Hub, Royal Road, and Wattpad (Same user name)If you find my work on other sites please let me know!
8 155Reasons to Stay
Immortality has a cost, it differs from person to person. Some regret seeing their loved ones die, some regret they themselves cannot die, some regret the boredom and some regret nothing. This man regrets not having a choice, so after millions of years of getting shot, beheaded, beaten, stabbed and stoned he escaped from the world by hiding in a bunker with his books. He had studied all forms of science, he had lived history and created art, he was content with being alone with his mind until one day a man with a monocle appears, and he learns the truth. Hi! This is my second novel and I just had this idea when I was trying to sleep and my mind was making me re-live all those goddamn nightmares you don't want when it's 1 am and dark as shit, so I thought of happy things like the fantasy genre and my inevitable death and i'm like why not?
8 92EleMenTaLenT : A Dungeon Keeper's Tale
Do you think that Dungeons are like a field to harvest? Well, that may be right in many cases. But if so, who had sown the seeds? Are adventurers harvesting resources more than enough for themselves? Is there a much darker motive behind, driving them into reckless attempts for conquering dungeons? Who are the people behind this conspiracy? Are Dungeons made for adventurers to strip of their resources and enjoy the experience and prizes for conquering them? Or is it an ecosystem with living things that have blood, tears and family just like our homes? Perhaps the story of Dungeon Keepers will change your perpective of how Dungeons work and how the world truly operates. Which side are you on? That's up to you! Welcome to EleMenTaLenT, or should I say, Heaven On Earth?
8 141HEIMDALLR
After his first life, Heimdallr felt he had lived a decent way; he wrote stories and lived a simple life, avoiding publicity and focused on promoting growth to the few who cherished his works. But after being reborn as Heimdallr Dagrsson, one of the many sons of Daesal's greatest warrior Dagr, he was put into a world devoid of wide-spread access to reading and writing. Instead, he was dropped into a world where fighting and death commonly reared their heads. Now, faced between his unsupported passion and his new life's innate talent and upbringing, he will have to find his new path. He will forge a new story that would make even himself dubious of whether or not it's fact or fable. HEIMDALLR is a story taking place in the setting created for another previous work of mine called KOBOLD. It follows a reincarnated person trying to wrestle between their old life and new life's wants and needs, all the while adapting to the situations that arise out of his control. Heimdallr starts out trying to survive and live a new life, all the while facing challenges and growth both fantastical and painfully real. Loosely inspired by Norse mythology and histories (names and some themes), spun into a fantasy, grit-rooted world. Skål! All content warning tags are applied so as to allow freedom of writing but there is no intent of excess or even regular use of these themes. Regardless of this, any and all uses will have dedicated warnings presented in the chapter whenever they are present! Reader beware!
