《Bound in the Dark》Pyro & Aquas Meeting Part 2
Advertisement
Aqua and Inferno are sitting in a diner with a hot coffee in Infernos hands while Aqua has a ice cold water in hers. They are talking but the first one to talk is Aqua and her first words to her master are:" There's no way master! There is no way some one like that could be the Pheonix fire wielder. He's just... just not right!"
Inferno:" Ahh so you met Pyro huh!"
" Yes and I think we are all doomed with someone like that wielding the flames of the Pheonix. There's no way. He's just a disrespectful little boy, master! He is not even decisive enough to go for the kill when facing his enemy head on. He cannot even control his flames properly! Are you certain he has the Capabilities to become our savior?"
Inferno just goes on a another one of his speeches with his usual laugh:" Aqua, you see this is another test for you and him. These are all duties of Pheonix fire wielders and their WATchERs. Don't worry you're not the first to struggle with getting along with your Wielder."
" Master there is no way, even if I'm not the only one that had to go through this. There's no way that they'd all be like him. He just seems so.... arrogant."
Inferno:" See that very attitude of his is actually fine in itself. At least you will always know what he's thinking, because he speaks without thinking in the first place haha! Anyway... see there've actually been worse Pheonix Flame wielders than him. And what's worse is that most of the time they were incompatible with their WATchERs. In fact I heard most of 'em completely refused to be WATchERs to those wielders in the first place. It's kind of hilarious when I think about their situations and yours!"
Aqua:" Really Master?"
Inferno:" Yeah there was this one wielder who completely refused to have a WATchER helping her, completely forgetting about her duties, always doing what she wants. She wanted to be left all alone and thought that her WATchER would just get in the way if they battled. But what she didn't know and I shouldn't be telling you this because you should learn it on your own, is that a WATchER not only provides guidance to the Phoenix flame wielder, but also calms the flame and helps to control it sometimes even amplifying it to a certain extent but only with both of them working together will they achieve a sort of boosting effect. The fruit of working together is great. Take this as an example, there were two of them that actually worked great together and could defeat thousands of foes... without even uttering a single word to one another. They did this by learning each other's strengths and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, personalities and all that, they were such a close couple and by that I mean yes they were a couple. Hm maybe it could be that too. So I guess it all comes down to the two of you. And if you're not doing it for yourself then do it for the world at least. Knowing that if you pull this off you could save the entirety of this world. And if that's too much responsibility for you to handle then just think about Terra and how what you do right now could actually affect her future. Think about it, if you are able to work together with that idiot then you'd inevitably be saving Terras life. I know you can do it Aqua. You're stronger than you think."

"Terra"
Inferno:" See if you have someone you'd protect, your view on this completely changes doesn't it? But I don't want you to force yourself Aqua, the bond between you and Pyro should form naturally..."
" But I can't shake this feeling of hatred I feel towards that boy master. He's unfathomable."
Inferno:" Give it some time, I'm sure he'll come around and when he does you'd actually see he's just a big ol softie who acts tough for attention. I think we're done here, sun's about to set, time to hit the hay. I'll see you around Aqua, make sure to get some sleep. Need all your energy for how stupid Pyro is going to be hehe."
But to Aquas surprise, the next day as she heads to Pyros place, he's not there. And what's seen on the front porch is a letter for her saying. Here's the key to the house pretty girl help yourself to whatever is in the fridge, I'll be back soon."
Aqua seems surprised but she's a bit flattered too...
That someone could be so stupid as to leave a key to a complete stranger that they just met the day before but somehow this made her chuckle. This is somewhat strange as Aqua almost never laughs ( or chuckles for that matter.). She opens the door and sees another letter on the table saying:" P.s I'm sorry for being so rude to you girl."
And if you're wondering where Pyros mom is at this moment well I'm sure you'd be happy to know that she's on a so called vacation with Inferno.
Anyway back to Aqua.
She's left wondering if Pyro might actually have some respect, I mean he has to have learned something after she beat him up. (if Shadow were in this chapter what would you think he'd be saying about Pyro getting beat up?🤣). So she walks through their living room being careful not to break anything and starts to notice things such as pictures of tiny little Pyro, one that catches her eye is the one with Pyro holding a football in his hands smiling the brightest of smiles, while his mom is in the background of the picture. Aqua thinks to herself:" He is smiling in this one and the rest he's not but even though he shows how happy he is, this picture still shows his sadness inside. Maybe this sadness is the cause of his attitude. Maybe he feels left out. I know what that feels like."

And this moment Pyro walks in as he puts his bag down and says:" Left out? Who's left out, nah I really don't think I have been ever, I need no one..."
Aqua chimes in:" And no one needs you, is that what you're thinking?"
Pyro just says:" N-no..." and then remains silent.
"You know that silence is just as good as any answer, right? I think there's people that need you and you need them as well, just that you're too prideful to admit it."
Pyro:" And where are you getting this from b-... sorry, old habits I guess. I ain't used to... being nice. So where are you getting this whole people need me shit from."
Aqua:" Well for one, it's clear that you and your mother both rely on one another as family should. So you are needed and besides you are the Pheonix Flame wielder, your job is to protect all of us."
"Uhhh that whole thing seems like something that old fart made up I ain't falling for that. In fact I don't even think that whole 'Shadow will destroy us all' thing is real. I mean, Shadow? Really, pfft. That kid's a loser and the weakest on the block. There's nothing there but a pip squeak coward. I could take him with my hands tied and without needing these powers too but I'm still gonna have use them to toast him just because."
Aqua responds with a little laugh:" You haven't learned anything about this world and yourself have you? Have you not learned to never underestimate your opponent. In fact never overestimate yourself too and..."
Pyro stops her from talking further:" Okay that's enough there's no point in lecturing me. Geez you sound just like my old man. Anyway so you wanna head out to get a bite to eat cause I'm starving."
Aqua:" But why go out to eat, don't you eat at your home where it's safe and comfortable?"
Pyro:" Girl what are you talking about, I'm talking about fast food here, tastes great and it's on-the-go, hasn't my dad taken you around town to the diners yet?"
Aqua:" He has but I can't eat those things. They look way too unhealthy and my body needs to remain clean."
Pyro laughs and grabs her hand while saying:" Haha, anyone ever tell you you're way too uptight, let's go I'm gonna have you eat a burger if it's the last thing I do!"
Right then Aqua is reminded of her master as she stares at Pyro from behind and says this in a hushed voice:" You are masters son after all."
Pyro looks to the back and actually smiles with all his might, maybe he hasn't heard what she said or maybe he's just a little bit proud to actually be a part of something... meaningful.
They both head to the diner and enjoy Burgers till they can't stomach anymore. And of course Pyro stuffed his face while Aqua began to enjoy her first experience of fast food ( burger with a strawberry milkshake on the side too.)

Homeland
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Francisco—an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state.A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuff—and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier.Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave him—but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do.Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brother—a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
