《The Hero's Prophecy》Chapter 7: Rebuild

Hero was awoken by the maize rays of the rising sun. Sunshine spilled over the banks of the ditch which he had built a den. The night had passed rather peacefully, and the folks had begun some noisy morning banter.
Hero stepped out his small den, and into the enriching sunlight. He stretched out his cooped up joints, and yawned wide. He dusted the dirt off his navy vest and coat.
"Pleasant morning to you, Mr. Prophecy," a high-pitched happy voice greeted Hero. Hero turned, and found that it belonged to the small violet gecko yesterday.
The small creature sat on the shoulder of a chrome-colored beast wearing a blue checkered polo, and brown pants over their thin fur coat. They possessed stout hands with sharp claws, and a snout defined by a singular zig-zag line that is their mouth. A long fuzzy tail that ends with a metal hook extended out their backside.
"Howdy, Mr. Prophecy," the chrome beast spoke. They extended their left hand, and Hero promptly shook them. "I am Tesla. What you did that other day was spectacular by the way. If it weren't for you, there wouldn't be a Townston for us to rebuild. It's an honour to be serviced by you."
"The pleasure is mine, Tesla," Hero replied.
"Hey. If you'd fancy, mayhaps you'd offer a helpin' hand over town."
Hero assisted the townsfolk of Townston in their rebuilding. They cleared the streets of rubble, filled the ditches and potholes, and fell the barely standing hazardous walls. They laid bricks, washed sooty walls, and cleaned clogged canals. The small weaker folk only watched and guided the stronger people work.
Metaphor assisted in providing magical assistance through water and telekinetic spells. Stripe offered his swiftness to carry the stuff through town. Moly, while giving out hallowed guidance, offered some physical labour, and they demonstrated impressive strength, able to carry stacks of bricks as tall as they were, and multiple bags of cement. Buddy, on the other hand, offered to be a look out with its sharp senses.

Amethyst -- the tiny lizard was apparently named -- in particular watched Hero's Prophecy more closely than the other other folk. It walked on vertical walls, and rested on ledges near the roof of nearby buildings. A spark of admiration was overtly in its eyes.
"Admirable, isn't he?" Buddy was on the roof of the building Amethyst was on. The soft breeze stirred its pretty red fur.
Amethyst remained silent. Underneath its rocky exterior, it was blushing. It tried to hide its apparent admiration.
Buddy chuckled for the amusement. Buddy resigned back to its task, watching the distance and skies. The hills were pleasantly nice this morning; the sunlight was mellow, the breeze was soft, and the sky was a pleasant turquoise with a few wispy fluffy floaty clouds, nary a invading foe in sight, but it didn't hurt to be wary and watchful.
The sun soon made it overhead. Noontime had come, and the folks had looked into resting. The faded technicolor town had arisen back up. Most of the trash that littered the streets had been disposed of, and many broken walls had been rebuilt.
"Good work, folks. Rest those arms of yours, and let's have some lunch. Having sore limbs and an empty stomach ain't pleasant." Tesla said, wiping off plaster off their hands and arms.
The townsfolk ceased their diligent work, and headed for lunch. They stood in a couple neat files in front of Moly's abode. Moly facilitated lunch, handing out loaves of bread and mugs of tea.
Moly's abode was oriental make, with many red and black accents. Its roof was curved with red and gold trimmings, and it was tiled with black stained bamboo. Dark splotches and deep valleys stained its concrete walls. Various dried herbs and spices decorated the indoors.
Hero decided to put himself on standby. The queue was rather long, and he could endure hunger pinching his innards. He sat on a nearby stone slab while watching the workers eagerly receive bread and tea from Moly. A small smile broke on his face.

"Oi, Mr. Prophecy," Tesla called out. On his shoulder was Amethyst who wore a rocky face. "Don't you want lunch? Why are you out here, mopin'?"
"I can endure a bit of hunger."
"I see. I suppose the lunch line is rather long. Hope you don't decide to starve yourself." Tesla sat beside Hero.
"Do you not want lunch too?" Hero asked.
"Nah. Got my fix back home. I have some special needs."
"I'm not in line because I'm too small, and I'm prone to being stepped on," Amethyst answered, and move onto Tesla's lap.
Hero and Tesla engaged in small talk while they waited for the line to shorten. Amethyst listened, and occasionally sounded out her thoughts. Near the end of their cross-speech, Buddy arrived to the scene, tense and anxious. Hero became concerned.
"I saw nobody coming towards town," Buddy said, and its ears were flattened. "Prometheus doesn't usually send out invaders in consecutive days, but... but... I have a bad feeling for this."
Hero sighed a bit. He petted Buddy to help it wind down, but Buddy continued to be tense.
"You're just being paranoid, Buddy. It would help to relax," Tesla reasoned slightly apathetically.
Buddy exhaled, releasing weight in its chest. "I hope you're right."
